Bleed Esports CEO Mervyn Goh’s Legal Troubles: Unpaid Salaries and Allegations of Misconduct

Bleed Esports, once a popular up-and-coming esports organisation, is currently in a troubling state after its CEO Goh En Wei Mervyn is now in a criminal trial in Singapore. Organisation that currently has teams in Counter-Strike 2, Valorant, DOTA 2, Rainbow Six Siege is coming undone due to claims of unpaid wages and prize money.

The trial, set for October 21, 2024, under Singapore’s Penal Code 1871, casts a shadow over Mervyn’s leadership. The charges are still not defined but as mentioned above the Penal Code is rather general and thus they could be anything from embezzlement to murder. This legal case is not a first that Mervyn and his companions are connected with some suspicious events.

Accused of an assault in 2022, Mervyn was charged with attacking Lincoln Lim Jun Hong, a former Bleed Esports investor. In physical assault of a woman case against Lim, he made Mervyn to be present during the alleged act. Such connexion has prompted some concern over the issue of ethical practise within the organisation.

Allegations of Financial Mismanagement

The Bleed Esports continue to face financial problems. Aleksandar “Kassad” Trifunovic, the former coach of Bleed’s Counter-Strike 2 team, has publicly accused the organization of owing players tens of thousands of dollars. It includes unpaid prize money and salaries including but not limited to $130,000 for Apeks and $42,000 for G2 Esports. These allegations portray a very wrong situation concerning the financial situation of the organisation.

Riot Games Expulsion from Valorant Champions Tour

It got worse when Riot Games decided to dismiss Bleed Esports from the Valorant Champions Tour (VCT) for their inability to meet some vital reporting standards¹. This expulsion not only stained the image of the organisation but also evicted those players and they are struggling to look for a team.

Not even Rainbow Six Siege team, which used to be one of the Bleed Esports successes is safe from this. Terdsta, one of the players, disclosed that he was earning less than $700 per month and has not been paid $35,000 by the organisation. His account shows the key problem that Bleed Esports has faced since its establishment: lack of a stable revenue stream that would allow players to live off their gaming earnings.

The fate of Bleed Esports remains uncertain as important trial comes closer. The organisation’s teams are in a process of dispersion, and Mervyn remains silent about the accusations. Esports fans are closely following the case because the decision made in this trial could become a benchmark for the rest of the industry.

The players and staff of Bleed Esports are still fighting for justice and their money in the middle of all this. These accounts explain why esports needs better governance and ethical standards in organisations. While the trial continues, it still is uncertain whether Bleed Esports will be able to get back on its feet and whether it will become an example for others to avoid.

Who is Ronova in Genshin Impact? The Sovereign of Death Revealed

Reflected in the gacha game mechanics with a detailed lore and a steadily revealed system of characters’ origins in Genshin Impact, as of version 5.1 new and old characters have emerged adding more depth and context to what the known lore contains.

Who or what is Ronova?

Of all the above-discussed characters, there is Ronova, the Sovereign of Death and one of the Heavenly Principles. Well, that brings us to an obvious question: who is Ronova in Genshin, and how does she participate in the formation of today’s Natlan in Genshin Impact? I have provided further details in the following sections, along with their theoretical assortment from my perspective.

Ronova acts as the Sovereign of Death and is one of the four members of the Heavenly Principles in the Genshin Impact game. She directed the creation of the laws of Natlan and helped to build the worlds for the Night Kingdom to stand against the Abyss with Yohualtecuhtin. The part played in framing laws for Natlan and in helping the establish the Night Kingdom was thus her way of expressing affection and making amends.

Ronova Genshin Impact

It was the first Pyro Archon, Xbalanque, who made an agreement with Ronova to set the law to govern in Natlan. Xbalanque used the Divine Throne to subjugate Ronova to put up with the metaphysical laws indicated in the land of Natlan. He also created a way whereby the people of Natlan may rise to the level of Pyro Archon through the process of Pilgrimage of the Return of the Sacred Flame in as much as get acquainted with the memories of their origin through the dichotomy of the Sacred Flames.

Even though Ronova stated that she would deny any allegations that she helped Natlan and stated that instead, Xbalanque stole her powers, she was seen as violating the expectations of a Shade and thus some of the Heavenly Principles became disgruntled. At this point, Yohualtecuhtin with this excess, says that she was disposed into ‘self-pity’ and was indifferent when others called her by tones of other heavenly principles unacceptable in society.

She had the powers that Mavuika used at the end of Act IV of Chapter V Archon Quest to fight off the Abyss invasion in Natlan as well as reveal the fake sky. Despite this, for being the Sovereign of Death, Ronova has her powers and it is not without a catch. For one to harness the strength of death he must also be prepared for his or her own death. In the event the user of her powers relapses in conquering the fear of death many innocent souls would be claimed as the cost for such conquest.

Kick Planning to Pay Viewers for Watching Streams

0

KICK plans to introduce a KICK Currency, which would enable users to earn money while watching their preferred streamers, according to Adin Ross.

Ross has hinted that they will also allow viewers to make money while watching their preferred streams. Streamers will have the discretion to hand out KICK Currency to their audience which they can cash out.

“They want to come out with the KICK Currecny that I told you guys about,” said Ross.

“Basically, viewers can get paid to watch you. They’re coming out with some cool s*it. It’s kind of like Bits that you can cash out. I mean, not every person will get paid to watch, but, for example, I can give people KICK and they can cash out.”

As Kick is aiming for profitability, this strategy is something that is unheard of. While this might help streamers retain viewers, it will be interesting to see whether this takes off as well as if Kick can successfully deal with the challenges that this can bring.

As things stand, Ross has only hinted at the idea and it might be quite a while before we find Kick actually implementing it on a large scale.

A Wake-Up Call for BGMI: Why Organisations Are Shutting Down?

A troubling trend is emerging in the Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) esports ecosystem. Over the past year, a staggering 18 prominent esports organisations have ceased their BGMI operations. Surprisingly, this decline comes at the heels of the success of the most recent official BGMI tournament—BGMI Pro Series (BMPS) 2024, which set a record for the highest concurrent viewership in the game’s history. This dichotomy begs the question: is this a wake-up call for Krafton India? Let’s delve into the factors behind these alarming closures.

The Sudden Shutdowns – What’s Going Wrong in the BGMI Esports Ecosystem?

Financial Strain

One of the most significant reasons for the mass exodus of organizations from BGMI esports scene is financial strain. Prominent organisations like TSM, OR Esports, Gladiator Esports, Velocity Gaming, and Entity have burned substantial resources into BGMI esports. Orgs have invested lakhs of rupees in hopes of profitable returns. However, the expected revenue has not materialised. Maintaining tournament prize pools, operational costs, and player salaries has proven to be an uphill battle. As these organisations grapple with mounting expenses and diminishing returns, many have concluded that it is more prudent to halt their operations rather than continue to incur losses.

A widely recognized challenge in the esports industry is the increasing salary demands from players, which has intensified the financial burden on these organisations. Prominent personalities in the community, including S8UL Esports’ Co-owner 8Bit Goldy, Global Esports’ CEO Rushindra Sinha, Enigma Gaming’s CEO Aryaman Wasan, renowned content creator Scout, and multiple other prominent personalities have openly discussed these escalating demands, emphasising that they may threaten the sustainability of various teams.

Moreover, figures like Ghatak have also voiced their concerns about the industry’s sustainability, underscoring the need for a more robust ecosystem. Sid, the manager of iQOOSoul, has urged Krafton to engage with key stakeholders to facilitate discussions aimed at creating a sustainable competitive landscape.

While recent tournaments have boasted impressive prize pools of ₹1 crore and ₹2 crore, the reality is that relying solely on these figures is not sufficient for long-term sustainability. A stable financial structure is essential for organisations to manage their operational costs and player salaries effectively.

Cheaters and Other Issues Marring the Game

Another critical challenge impacting BGMI esports is the persistent issue of cheating and hacking. Since the game’s launch, these problems have plagued the community, creating an environment rife with distrust. Players often face gameplay disruptions due to lags and glitches, undermining the integrity of official tournaments. Cheaters have infiltrated not only online events but have even qualified for LAN tournaments, raising serious questions about the competitive fairness of the game.

This rampant cheating affects organisations that invest heavily in their players and teams. When cheating compromises a team’s ability to showcase its skills, the financial and operational risks for these organisations multiply. Consequently, many are adopting a more cautious approach to further investments in the BGMI ecosystem.

Lack of Stable Ecosystem

The announcement from Global Esports succinctly captured the prevailing sentiment: the BGMI esports ecosystem is currently “immature and unstable.” This instability is a primary reason behind the withdrawal of numerous organisations. There is a glaring absence of long-term planning and structured tournaments, leaving many organisations hesitant about investing further.

Since the relaunch of BGMI, a clear roadmap for the upcoming year has been conspicuously absent. This lack of clarity not only creates uncertainty but also makes organisations wary of committing their resources in a landscape where the future remains unpredictable.

Government Regulations and Bans

The esports landscape in India is also fraught with challenges stemming from government regulations. In September 2020, the Indian government imposed a ban on PUBG Mobile due to national security concerns, a decision that reverberated throughout the gaming community. Although Krafton managed to launch BGMI in July 2021, the shadow of potential bans has loomed large ever since. The indefinite suspension of BGMI by the Indian government in July 2023 added to the uncertainty.

While the game returned in May 2023, the scars of previous bans have made organisations more cautious about investing in a game that could face government scrutiny once again. The fear of a sudden ban creates a paralysing effect on organisations, dissuading them from taking risks in an already volatile environment.

Management Issues and Payment Delays

Management challenges and payment delays have become all too common in the BGMI esports scene. When tournament organisers fail to disburse prize pools in a timely manner, organisations struggle to pay their players. Such delays can severely impact player morale and performance, compounding the challenges faced by these organisations.

The ripple effect of these management issues disrupts operational stability. Maintaining a healthy cash flow is vital, and when organisations cannot meet their financial commitments, the entire ecosystem suffers.

Uncertain Future

The mass shutdowns of prominent organisations send a disheartening message to players and fans alike. The ongoing uncertainty surrounding the future of BGMI and its competitive scene raises concerns that could dissuade new investments and commitment from remaining organisations. As the landscape becomes increasingly precarious, many may find themselves forced to exit, exacerbating the cycle of instability.

Record Viewership – A Silver Lining or False Hope?

In contrast to these troubling developments, the BMPS 2024 tournament achieved remarkable success, boasting a prize pool of ₹2 crore and recording over 500,000 concurrent viewers—an unprecedented milestone in BGMI history. However, it is crucial to understand that high viewership does not equate to a thriving esports ecosystem.

While the surge in viewership may indicate interest in the game, it does not guarantee financial health for organisations. Without substantial sponsorships and consistent revenue streams, the high viewership figures will ultimately prove unsustainable. The esports ecosystem needs to engage sponsors and brands effectively, as their investment is essential for long-term viability.

The road ahead for BGMI esports appears fraught with challenges. Despite record viewership numbers, the underlying issues of financial strain, cheating, regulatory uncertainty, and management problems remain significant barriers to sustainable growth. As the community grapples with these challenges, it is imperative for Krafton and other stakeholders to come together and develop a cohesive strategy that addresses these issues head-on. Only through collaboration and a commitment to building a stable ecosystem can BGMI esports hope to emerge from this crisis and secure a brighter future.

How Old Is Citlali in Genshin Impact?

HoYoverse has always been great at the characters that look young, but they are, in fact, hundreds of years old. Another character you can find in their gallery is Citlali, who fits the above description to the tee. Many people could confuse her for Madame Ping but that is a mistake as well. Of course, Citlali is a grandmother in the primary game, although the global community has not determined her exact age in Genshin Impact.

This young but rather old-fashioned woman has many secrets up her small and adorable sleeves, most of them being amusing rather than malicious despite being centuries old. Citlali is yet another character in their roster that embodies this idea. At first glance, one might think she is akin to Madame Ping, but that’s a misconception. True, Citlali is a grandmother, yet her exact age in Genshin Impact remains a mystery.

Of course, since HoYoverse will not announce her age directly, we will have to look for the hints.

What is Citali’s real age in Genshin Impact though?

Citlali Genshin Impact

As much as I wished that I could give a more specific number, I would say that Citlali probably falls somewhere near 200 in terms of age in Genshin Impact. Upon the first meeting of the character in the represented country, Natlan, Citlali hints at the fact that, in fact, she is much older than she looks. She mocks a usual light novel cliché where a character looks younger than he or she actually is.

Citlali says Paimon has even tried to ask her about her age but she never answered the question. You can learn more hints about her age as you proceed to the main story. Following this encounter with Ororon, Citlali will take some drinks, and in her drunken state, she will make a remark to the effect that what difference does it make whether one is 200 or 1,000 years old?

Of course, I don’t think that HOYoverse would be so precise if it wasn’t for something. Thus, one can make a firm bet that Citlali’s actual age is within that bracket. She, beyond doubt, is older than Ororon; she was one of those ladies who took care of him in his childhood.

Moreover, Citlali is quite old, and her behavior does not reveal an attitude of the ancient wise. In fact, she looks incredibly immature and even weaker than she is depicted to be. This makes it look like even after all that time, she was still tom-pervaded and sometimes ended up in really silly situations.

Well even if they (HOYoverse) never end up revealing her age directly, I tried my best to speculate it – which you hopefully agree with. Let us know what you think about her age on our instagram community!

Until next time, keep watching this space & ciao!

Indian BGMI Teams to Miss Out on PMGC 2024 as IHC Esports Secures Final Slot

Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) teams and their fans had been eagerly anticipating an opportunity to represent the country on the global stage at the PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC) 2024. Since the game’s return from a ten-month suspension, there was a wave of optimism about Indian teams possibly securing a spot in this prestigious annual event. However, the recent announcement that IHC Esports has claimed the final slot under a “Special Invite” has dashed those hopes.

Indian BGMI Teams to Miss Out on PMGC 2024

The anticipation for an Indian team competing in the PMGC primarily stemmed from several undefined slots in the PMGC 2024 slot distribution. This ambiguity led to widespread speculation among the Indian gaming community that one of these slots could be reserved for a BGMI team, especially given the game’s much-awaited comeback in India. Fans and players alike hoped that the resurgence of BGMI would lead to a global presence, allowing Indian teams to compete against the world’s best once again.

One of the major factors driving this belief was the conclusion of the BGMI Pro Series (BMPS) 2024, which wrapped up before the complete slot distribution for PMGC 2024 was revealed. Fans were hopeful that the winner of BMPS 2024, Team X Spark, might receive a direct entry into PMGC 2024. The timing and sequence of events seemed to align in such a way that many believed India would finally return to the international PUBG Mobile Esports circuit through the PMGC.

However, as the final slot allocation emerged, officials confirmed that IHC Esports would fill the last spot as a “Special Invite,” effectively ending any hopes for Indian representation at the event. This decision left Indian teams and fans disappointed, as it marks yet another year where no Indian team will compete in the PMGC.

The Growing Gap Between BGMI and Global PUBG Teams

The last time India had a team on the global PUBG Mobile stage was in 2022, when Team SouL represented the country at the PUBG Mobile World Invitational. Unfortunately, the long absence of Indian teams from international competition has led to a growing skill gap between Indian and global teams. Team SouL’s 11th-place finish in 2022, while respectable, underscored the challenges Indian teams have faced in keeping up with the evolving competitive landscape of PUBG Mobile.

The lack of global matchmaking in BGMI has only widened this gap, leaving Indian teams with limited exposure to global tournaments. During this period, international teams honed their skills in various global competitions, while Indian teams competed only in domestic tournaments. As a result, the once-thriving Indian PUBG Mobile esports scene has struggled to regain its momentum.

In this article, we will explain how to get Boom Billy and use it in Fortnite.

How to Get Boom Billy?

Boom Billy Fortnite

Boom Billy can be acquired through Fortnite in so many ways, including the following:

  • Random Loot: Boom Billy can fall as floor loot and be found in chests anywhere on the map.
  • Billy the Puppet: This boss can be located at Freaky Fields. You can finish him, which will give you a Boom Billy for sure, but you are racing.
  • Completing Jigsaw’s Challenge: Players can find a Jigsaw Station and interact with it, allowing a player who has accepted the same challenge a limited amount of time to kill another player. Completing will grant players a collection of items, and the Boom Billy is one of them. Losing will inflict self-inflicted damage from a trap.

Boom Billy is sold in a pack of three. To use, equip it and throw it in the direction you want, and out will pop a small Billy on a flying tricycle, which then will chase enemies and explode when they touch something. Randomly, it patrols its surroundings when it can’t find any enemies nearby.
