ESPL 2021 Level 3 Day 7, Bangalore Ballistics dominates the final day

On the final day of Esports Premier League 2021, Bangalore Ballistics managed to come out on top, having won all games, they get to keep their number one sport on the table. The franchise-based league system from India Today Gaming, the esports division of India Today boasts a massive 25,00,000 prize pool for the top 8 teams with the grand finals set to take place on 29th August 2021.

Level 1 of ESPL 2021 included a wide range of teams that fought for a place to make it to the top 22 teams from each group. A total of 4 groups, i.e. 88 teams qualified for the 2nd phase where they faced the 8 invited teams. 8 teams out of the qualified ones will make it to the 3rd phase.

The first game saw Delhi Dukes take on Kolkata Kaijus. The Dukes came out on top with 5 classic mode matches ending with a 3-2 scoreline. L3M26 was won by Rajasthan Reapers dominating Hyderabad Hydras with a 4-1 scoreline.

The third game of the ESPL 2021 Level 3 day 7 was edged out by Mumbai Marshals. They took down Chennai Celestials with a 3-2 scoreline. In the last match of the level 3 stage, L3M28 was won by Bangalore Ballistics with a heavily one-sided 5-0 score against Punjab Paladins.

The overall standings is as follows:

  1. Bangalore Ballistics – 72 points
  2. Mumbai Marshals – 66 points
  3. Rajasthan Reapers – 66 points
  4. Hyderabad Hydras – 60 points
  5. Delhi Dukes – 48 points
  6. Kolkata Kaijus – 45 points
  7. Punjab Paladins – 39 points
  8. Chennai Celestials – 24 points

After Global Esports secured a place in VCC Upper Bracket Semi-Finals, we got a chance to catch up with talisman Ganesh “SkRossi” Gangadhar.

Touted as the best Valorant player in India, SkRossi has posted stats that puts him second to none. His flashy and impactful performance has earned him the respect of fans as well as fellow pros which is evident from his fan following.

Having started his journey in Global Esports, one of the top Indian Esports organization, Rossi’s reached the summit of Indian Esports and the team has finally reached a point where they are aiming for international titles. Following an excellent run at the VCC, GE will face their national rivals in VLT in the Upper Bracket Semi-Final in 3 days which will put them a step closer to winning the title given they come out on top.

Heading into their fixture, Rossi had some kind words for everyone who supported him and Global Esports on their journey to the top.

“Thank you fans for supporting me from the beginning and being with me in my ups and downs, trust me I’ll do my best. I’ll be loyal in whatever I do in my life and I know you guys will support me throughout this amazing journey and I won’t let you guys down. Show your support to other players and all the teams out there who are working really hard to be the best and represent their countries. ” said Rossi.

“We all want your support and we love you guys!” he added.

TalkEsport caught up with Global Esports’ Ganesh “SkRossi” Gangadhar at the Valorant Conquerors Championship after the former’s convincing victory over Damaru Esports (Nepal) and Team Enigma (India) as they now head over to the Finals Playoff format.

VCC Interact brings you an all-exclusive video chat between Deepak “dpk” Ojha, founder of TalkEsport, and SkRossi, professional Valorant player for Global Esports.

This in-depth interview, running over eight minutes long, starts up with handling the expectations that the community bears towards Global Esports and indeed the pressure which looms over the team while in the process to be the top contenders. SkRossi was fluent in answering the same where he stated that the overall pressure from his fans and the community has kept him motivated throughout his journey and would never stop to get better at the game.

When asked about adding an additional pair of eyes to the team might further propel the chances to defy their odds, SkRossi feels, rather than having an analyst or a coach, a team should have five flexible individuals who would easily adapt to the meta, work on the same and come up with new strategies. He further insisted on not having just one player to call shots for his team and act as the lone leader of the pack.

This Mantra of SkRossi’s seems to have landed them on the right track as they now look towards the VCC Finals Playoff seed where they play their Indian counterparts, Velocity Gaming on August 27.

SkRossi Says NA and EU Players are a Lot More Focused at Competitive Levels

North America and Europe have always remained giants in the world of online competitive video games, which is why it didn’t come as a surprise to most when NA and EU pros started dominating Riot Games’ tactical shooter Valorant within only a few weeks of its initial release. 

While there are undoubtedly some great Valorant teams and individual talents in South Asia, even the best teams from the region struggle to keep up with their western counterparts. 

TalkEsport had the chance to have a talk with the top Indian Valorant pro, Ganesh “SkRossi” Gangadhar, regarding the current state of esports in India. During the interview, the Global Esports star brought up several interesting points that fans can check out here.

When being asked about whether SkRossi would look forward to breaching the national boundaries and contest his skills in other regions as well, the 22-year-old mentioned that players can catch up with the pros from other regions like NA and EU by working harder in general. 

“I think players should be more creative and grind hard to reach the level of regions like NA, EU or SEA,” SkRossi said. 

He further mentioned that players from those regions are not only strong individually, but they’re also a lot more focused at competitive levels in general.

According to SkRossi, it should be possible to reach the levels of European or North American Valorant pros by playing more games, learning the game, and figuring out the team’s strengths and weaknesses.

Whether or not Global Esports can put up a challenge against EU and NA teams still remains to be seen in the future. However, it’s clear from the words of SkRossi that the players are constantly trying to improve as a team and are on their way to be one of the finest teams in Asia.

One of the qualifying teams for VCC Grand Finals is Global Esports and they have had a dominating performance so far. Global Esports have earnt a reputation as one of the best, if not the best team in India in Valorant their record is a testimony to this fame.

Ganesh ‘SkRossi’ Gangadhar is a star player on the Global Esports Valorant roster and he is considered as the best player in India. We had an opportunity to interact with SkRossi before the VCC Grand Finals. He shared his thoughts on the preparation for this tournament and commented on other things allied to Valorant Esports.

When SkRossi was asked if he looks at any team in particular which can give Global Esports a tough time or who might predict their game plan, SkRossi said that no team could read them as their playstyle or their mentality whenever they approach a game is to be prepared for any team or any kind of situation.

According to SkRossi, Global Esports keep adapting to the situation and keep communicating to win as a team. He concluded by saying that “We’re prepared for everyone.”

SkRossi and Global Esports seems to be prepared for the Valorant Conquerors Championship main event and fans can certainly expect top-tier performance from them as well as other teams on this weekend.

The Esports Premier League 2021 Level 3 stage is on its 5th day. With only 2 more days remaining the competition gets fierce with teams aiming to secure a place in the top 4 on the leaderboard. The top 4 teams after the end of the Level 3 stage will be seeded into the upper bracket of the Finals.

The previous day again ended on a bad note for team Chennai Celestial who is currently on a 3-day losing streak with no map victories in its last 3 matches. Currently,  Bangalore Ballistics is leading the points table with 45 points, an impressive 6 point lead over the 2nd place Delhi Dukes and 9 point lead over the 3rd place Mumbai Marshals.

ESPL 2021 is India’s first and biggest Pan-India Free Fire esports tournament announced by India Today Gaming. ESPL 2021 features a massive prize pool of Rs 25,00,000 and will run over a period of two months starting from July 16th. The Grand Finals are scheduled to start on 29th August and the winner gets to take home the Esteemed title along with the 12,00,000 prize money.

ESPL 2021 Level 3 Format

Starting from 16th August, each day 4 matches will be played in Clash Squad mode. Each 7 round best match with 5 maps each will be played to contest for points on the table. Teams will be awarded certain standing points. At the end of the day, a leaderboard will be created with teams placed in order of points earned. At the end of Level 3, the top 4 teams will be seeded into the upper bracket of the Finals.

ESPL 2021 Level 3 Day 5 Matches

All the Level 3 matches will be played in a 7-round best of 5 map format exclusively on Bermuda, and Kalahari maps. Below is the list of matches scheduled for Day 5:

  • L3M13 – Mumbai Marshals vs Punjab Paladins (4:00 PM)
  • L3M14 – Hyderabad Hydras vs Chennai Celestials (5:30 PM)
  • L3M15 – Kolkata Kaijus vs Bangalore Ballistics (7:00 PM)
  • L3M16 – Rajasthan Reapers vs Delhi Dukes (8:30)

In a recent announcement posted on August 11th, Riot Games has confirmed a delay in ending Valorant Episode 3 Act 1. This means that players will get more time to increase their ranks and level up their Battle Pass with the extended daily and weekly missions. 

Riot Games said in a Tweet, “We think Act II is gonna be a banger, but we’ve hit some constraints while getting it to the quality bar you deserve. So, we’re slightly adjusting Act start timings.”

The Valorant developers have decided to postpone the release of Episode 2 Act 2 by two weeks, which means that Valorant Episode 1 Act 1 will conclude on September 8th.

Players will be able to queue up for competitive games till September 7th to earn a higher rank and fill their Act rank badge. 

Riot has also confirmed that players will continue to receive their two daily missions and three weekly missions for their Battle Pass.
