Valorant Patch Notes 4.0: Read Inside

The official patch notes of Valorant Episode 4 Act 1 have been revealed by Riot Games, and the upcoming patch is set to introduce a plethora of new content to the tactical shooter.

Alongside the highly anticipated new agent Neon, Valorant Episode 4 will also bring alongside it a new Battle Pass, competitive changes, map updates and more. If you’re looking to know more about what the next update will bring to the title, we have you covered.

AGENT UPDATES

WEAPON UPDATES

MELEE

  • Right click hitboxes are now 1.5x larger. Left click hitboxes are now larger than a right click and have a slightly longer range too.
  • Targets closer to the center of your knife attacks will get hit first, so you still have precision if you need it.
  • Bonus: Knifing walls now have instant feedback when slicing up walls (predicted on the client side)

SPECTRE

  • Firing error occurs at earlier bullet stages
  • For example, instead of errors occurring at bullets 4, 7, 10 (in terms of firing order) they will instead happen at bullets 3, 6, 8
  • Increased pitch and yaw (vertical and horizontal) recoil multipliers when running/jumping/on ascender from 1.25 >>> 1.5
  • Protected bullet count from yaw (horizontal) switching while spraying, decreased 8 >>> 5 bullets
  • Lowering time to switch yaw from .24 >>> .18 seconds
  • While spraying, the time you have until you could switch yaws (horizontal movement) again is lower, meaning it can happen more often

ARES

  • Removed spin up
  • Firing rate increased from 10 >>> 13

GUARDIAN

  • Removed firing rate penalty on ADS (Aiming Down Sight)
  • Added an extra bullet before it enters a recovery curve

BULLDOG

  • Hip fire rate increased 9.5 >>> 10
  • Recovery on burst fire improved from .4 >>> .35
  • Inaccuracy is accrued any time the weapon is re-fired prior to a complete duration of a weapon’s respective Gun Recovery Time. Lower recovery time should improve burst fire efficiency.

Map Changes:

BIND

  • The double stack of cover at short A has been changed to remove a very powerful
  • one-way smoke location that made the area a little too difficult for Attackers to approach.
  • Sentinels will still be able to clog the space, but the new layout should open a few options for attackers pushing in.
  • There’s also a small, new bench for a mix up when taking that first peek.

BREEZE

  • Increased the width of the A Main choke and removed 50/50s (where you must choose one of two locations an opponent may be located)
  • Added a stack of two crates in cave
  • Adjusted cover on the back of A Site and extended the pool to the far wall
  • Adjusted curved wall in mid
  • Added cover to the pillar on B Site, blocked off the back site with a new wall, and added a stack of crates to B Wall
  • Door on B can no longer be reactivated until it is finished opening or closing

COMPETITIVE

  • Starting with Patch 4.0, accounts that have yet to play in Ranked are required to reach account level 20 level before they are able to enter the Competitive queue
  • For those that have not yet reached account level 20, but have already played in Competitive queue, you will still be able to play in ranked.

BUGS

Game Systems

  • Fixed an issue where the Signature Kill Counter was not updating visually

Esports Features

  • Coaches should no longer experience the issue where swapping targets with number keys + mouse clicks occasionally fails.

As the highly anticipated Valorant Episode 4 Act 1 is nearing its release, more and more fans of the shooter across the globe are growing eager to know more about what the new patch will bring to the title. Alongside the new agent Neon, the upcoming Valorant Episode is also set to bring a bunch of new content to the game.

However, what fans are most excited about is the all-new Battle Pass that’ll come alongside the Episode 4 Act 1 release. Luckily, Riot Games has already revealed the contents of the new Battle Pass and fans can take a peek at it now. Here are the key features and highlights of the new Valorant Battle Pass that you can’t possibly miss.

Valorant Episode 4 Act 1 Battle Pass Highlights

The Episode 4 Act 1 Battle Pass will bring a number of attractive rewards with it in both the free and paid versions. Whether you’re looking for new skins or some fancy player cards, sprays and gun buddies, the next Battle Pass has you covered.

The free Battle Pass will reward players with a Velocity Shorty while the paid alternative will have skins for the Phantom, Vandal, Frenzy, and other weapons alongside a Karambit.

“We wanted the gun skins in this Battlepass to stand out, especially the Velocity set which has a Phantom, Spectre, Shorty, Bulldog, and a karambit-style melee—all of which have 4 color variants,” Sean Marino, Associate Art Director at Riot Games, said. “Several of the skin sets also have accessories that accompany them, including the Hydrodip buddy, spray, and card, the Schema card, and the Velocity card and Gun Buddy.”

“We leaned a lot more into holidays with the previous Battlepass, so we decided to have some holiday fun with this one as well,” Preeti Khanolkar, Senior Producer at Riot, said. “That’s why we’ve included so much more Valentine’s Day-themed content through the “Be Mine” cards as well as a few other Valentine’s items.”

As the release date of the highly anticipated Valorant agent Neon draws near, Riot Games has finally revealed the details of the upcoming agent. From the initial looks at the new agent, it’s clear that she’ll specialize in outpacing her opponents and clearing tight corners with her swift slides. Those, in combination with her lethal ultimate, can easily prove to be a nightmare for her enemies.

“Everything on her kit had two words we kept going back to on the design side to keep it cohesive,” Valorant dev Ryan “rycou” Cousart said. “These were ‘fast’ and ‘frenetic’.”

Valorant Neon Release Date

Only a few days remain before Valorant agent 19 Neon finally hits the live servers. Valorant Agent Neon is set to arrive on 11th January 2021.

Valorant Episode 4 Act 1 is set to release in a few hours after the conclusion of Episode 3 Act 3 on January 10, 2022. Make sure that you finish your Battle Pass before then, as the next Episode will bring an all-new Battle Pass with it.

Valorant Neon Abilities

Here are all the abilities of Neon as officially confirmed by Riot Games:

  • HIGH GEAR (E): INSTANTLY channel Neon’s power for increased speed. When charged, ALT FIRE to trigger an electric slide. Slide charge resets every two kills.
  • RELAY BOLT (Q): INSTANTLY throw an energy bolt that bounces once. Upon hitting each surface, the bolt electrifies the ground below with a concussive blast.
  • FAST LANE (C): FIRE two energy lines forward on the ground that extend a short distance or until they hit a surface. The lines rise into walls of static electricity that block vision and damage enemies passing through them. 
  • OVERDRIVE (X): Unleash Neon’s full power and speed for a short duration. FIRE to channel the power into a deadly lightning beam with high movement accuracy. The duration resets on each kill.

Where To Knock Down Timber Pines in Fortnite?

If you are a regular Fortnite player, you must be aware of the new challenge introduced by Epic Games. You are ordered to knock down the well-known Timber Pines trees in the game, which can be found frequently on the map. These trees are enormous in size and reddish in color.

These trees were first introduced in Fortnite when Chapter 3 was released by Epic Games. You have the power to knock down these trees and push them into the water without anyone knowing it. 

Now comes the important question—where can you knock them down? This section of the article will tell you the exact location where you can dump the Timber Pines trees to complete the challenge.

NOTE: You have to knock down “five” Timber Pines trees to complete the challenge.

The Location- Logjam Lumberyard

The exact location where you can knock down the trees is the Logjam Lumberyard. Here you will find the biggest collection of Timber Pines, situated in the northwest part of the map. You can identify the trees by looking at their size. These trees are the tallest on the map and have bluish leaves blossoming from them.  

The moment you knock down five such Timber Pines trees in Logjam Lumberyard, you’ll get bonus XP as a reward for completing the challenge.

NBK back to competitive CSGO with mousesports after a stint at Valorant

MOUZ announced on Twitter that Nathan ‘NBK-’ Schmitt has joined their CSGO roster going into the 2022 season. The announcement was confirmed today by the org but rumours of him joining have been doing the rounds ever since 1pv.fr reported that he was in talks to make a comeback to CSGO with mouseports.

NBK- ‘The Kingmaker’ as he’s called, had been on OG’s bench since February 2021 and announced in June that he had retired from CSGO and was moving on to Valorant. According to the report from neL, NBK- turned down offers from Competitive teams in Valorant as he decided to make the switch back to CSGO.

NBK- has had a very decorated career in CSGO and has been a part of Legendary teams since the early days. He has represented names such as VeryGames, Titan, LDLC, EnvyUs, G2 esports and Team Vitality in the past and also has 2 Major Championships to his name. He was also a HLTV top 10 player from 2013-15, placing at #5, #17 and #9 respectively.

The switch to Valorant was short lived as he decided to come back to the king of FPS games relatively quickly even after getting offers from multiple orgs, much like Timothy ‘autimatic’ Ta and Nick ‘nitr0’ Cannella.

MOUZ had to make changes as well for the 2022 season as their star Robin ‘ropz’ Kool left for FaZe Clan, and AWPer Frederik ‘acOr’ Gyldestrand was benched after a run of poor performances. They promoted Adam ‘torzsi’ Torzsas to take over the AWP role while the final spot will be filled by NBK.

Coach ‘mithR’ was also released as he joined Apeks Rebels and Dennis ‘sycrone’ Niielsen was signed to take over as head coach.

Dominic Kallas Appointed As VP Of Esports At TSM

Dominic Kallas, ex-Gen.G US Operations head has joined American Esports Organisation, TSM as its Vice President of Esports.

In an announcement made today via an official press release, Kallas said:

“I’m excited to be joining TSM alongside talented and seasoned professionals as TSMFTX looks to establish a new powerful leadership team. I firmly believe this is a new era for the org and fans and partners will be excited about what we have planned for 2022.”

Kallas has worked in Gen.G for more than 3 years before leaving the organization in late 2021 for reasons unknown. Throughout his tenure in Gen.G, Kallas played a very big role in expanding the operations of Gen.G in Asian countries including Seoul and Shanghai.

Prior to joining Gen.G, he worked as a venture capitalist and private equity associate before transitioning to the Esports field.

As the Vice President of TSM, Kallas will oversee the management and operations of all professional teams and content creators signed with TSM. Being one of the most valuable esports organisations with a valuation of $410 Million in 2021, Kallas role is very critical and crucial for the organisation’s future growth and success in different markets.

“TSM FTX will continue their history of signing top tier talent, and will seek to offer opportunities to up and coming talent that very few orgs can provide,” Kallas said. “As for esports, my priority will always be to continue to win. I will do my best to be an active and transparent leader for our teams, players, and amazing global community of fans.”

The first tournament TSM will participate in under Dominic Kallas as VP will be LCS Spring Split 2022, which is on 5th Feb 2022.
