s1mple Surpasses Magisk To Become 5th Highest Earning CSGO Pro

Ukrainian CSGO Pro and Natus Vincere’s star AWPer, Oleksandr ‘s1mple’ Kostyliev is undoubtedly one of the greatest players to ever touch the game, maybe even the best to ever do it.

His incredible skill and consistency took NaVi to new heights ever since he joined the prestigious org, and in 2021 a whole new chapter was written, one for the history books.

NaVi had their most successful year as an organisation as they won almost every S tier tournament in the second half the year and had a couple of #1 finishes at the start of the year as well. 

In their quest to become the best, NaVi also set new records as a team as they won the highest amount of prize money in a single calendar year in CSGO.

NaVi earned $4,275,500 in 2021, surpassing Danish side Astralis who earned $3,600,000 in 2018. NaVi earned $1 million from the PGL Stockholm Major, and another 1 million USD by winning the Intel Grand Slam

In the process, s1mple leapfrogged many legendary players to become one of the highest earners in CSGO, from match winnings alone, as per esportsearnings.com.

And now, with NaVi’s quarter final exit at ESL Pro League Season 15, s1mple surpassed Emi ‘Magisk’ Reif to become the 5th highest earning CSGO Pro. interestinlgy due to the year NaVi had, 18 year old rifler Valery ‘B1T’ Vakhovskyi surpassed legends like Zeus and f0rest in terms of prize money earned.

The top 5, until now was composed of the Danish quintet of Peter “dupreeh” Rasmussen, Andreas “Xyp9x” Højsleth, Nicolai “dev1ce” Reedtz, Lukas “gla1ve” Rossander and Emil “Magisk” Reif. Their 4 major wins (3 for Magisk) had a big role to play in their winnings as CSGO Majors are always the most prestigious events.

s1mple’s addition has now changed things up, displacing Magisk as the 5th and becoming the only non-Danish player in the top 5. As things stand, the top 10 highest earning CSGO Pros are:

BGMI content creator Paras Official brutally assaulted after voicing opinion against carding popularity

Paras Official, a well known content creator from BGMI community, was recently beaten after he raised the topic of using illegitimate ways to gain popularity rating in Battlegrounds Mobile India. According to a short video released online, he was assaulted by 7 to 8 men that entered his residence and thrashed him with rods and other objects.

Paras Official has recently reached 800,000 subscriber count on YouTube and recently, he had voiced his opinions against the use of carding to gain popularity rating in BGMI. The popularity rating has its own ranking system where players that have the highest popularity can have a higher rank.

Popularity rating can be gained by getting gifts from other accounts and according to Paras, players were using an illegal method called carding to gift themselves a large sum of popularity rating via available gifting options.

After this video was released, he faced some backlash from one of the highly ranking players called “Daku” and they had a banter.

Apparently, this banter turned into violence as Paras was thrashed in his own house by 7 to 8 men. He named “Daku” as one of the perpetrators but the alleged culprit has shrugged off these allegations saying that he would never opt for violence over a trivial matter such as popularity rating.

Paras described the incident as a horrific one and the video shows his injuries with a broken nose and fractured hand. He said that some men visited his residence early in the morning and called out his name. His mother opened the door thinking that they were some of his friends but the mob pushed away his mother and went to his room.

They began beating Paras with some objects such as sticks and one of them was recording the whole incident. Paras had asked the reason for their action multiple times but was left unanswered until the end of this horrific incident.

Indian esports and gaming community is growing right now and has an audience of millions. If violence is used as a method to settle the differences or to mute the protesting voices, it will impact the audience in a severely negative way.

The infamous olofboost is synonymous with the map Overpass in CSGO even after 8 years of the first instance of the boost. The three man boost, dubbed olofboost by the community as it was fnatic’s Olofmeister that made use of it first during a game versus LDLC in 2014 at the DreamHack Winter CSGO Major.

Since then the boost was banned, never to be seen again. But the CSGO community is creative enough and there is no shortage of new boosts and tricks to gain an advantage.

One such trick that has been discovered is a three man tower, similar to the Olof boost. Much like the original olofboost, this three man tower lets you spot players on the B site, from close to the A site next to bathrooms.

This boost was first posted to Reddit by user oxylight. Oxylight used this boost in a faceit level 5 game, to pick players off on the B site, from the A site with the help of this boost. This move requires three players to be present to create the boost, and once completed only 2 of them need to be present.

HOW TO RECREATE OLOFBOOST ON OVERPASS?

To create this three man boost, the three players need to be present near the A site, on the platform commonly known as ‘headshot’ between the A site and divider on bathrooms.

The first player boosts the second one in the corner of the bushes, where the player gets stuck on the pixel. Then the first player jumps on the third player’s head and lands on the player boosted on the pixel. 

This lets the sniper see all the way into the B site, the entrance and exit to Monster, sandbags on B short and bridge and a part of the site around the pillar as well.

It is vital that the player that is boosted finally atop the tower has an AWP as there is an invisible wall present there and a single awp bullet to the body won’t kill the player, as seen in the clip. It is even more difficult to kill the players with a Scout or an Auto sniper

An important thing to note is that this boost requires pixel walking. Pixel walking is not a feature the developers intended the game to have, and hence this is banned in official matches. It can only be used in regular matchmaking as third party mm services have banned it too, so try this boost at your own risk, just to have fun with your MM team.

PUBG Mobile to be played as target shooting and racing game at Asian Games 2022

The Asian Games version of PUBG Mobile is confirmed to be played as a target shooting and racing event at the upcoming 2022 Asian Games. Asian Esports Federation (AESF) has confirmed this huge change that will remove the core battle royale element from PUBG Mobile at the 2022 Asian Games.

Asian Esports Federation is the sole competent authority for electronic sports throughout Asia and recognized by Olympic Council of Asia(OCA). AESF recently launched a new website for Road to Asian Games 2022 and released a detailed timeline about the competition that will ultimately lead to the main event.

Under the PUBG Mobile Asian Games section, the format of this famous BR game is given and it confirms that the mode of competition is going to be very different than the one expected by PUBG Mobile community. There were initial reports of PUBG Mobile Asian Games version removing the BR mode and now, the picture is quite clear.

According to the official website, A total of sixteen players or four teams will participate in each game. A match will be comprised of multiple stages with each stage having its own target shooting mission.

After the shooting mission, teams will drive a vehicle across the designated track to complete the game. Rankings will be determined on the basis of team’s arrival at the finishing line.

This means that players participating at this event will not take part in any battle royale fights as such but completely rely on their shooting skills in the target shooting mode and on the driving skills in the track completion phase of the game.

The changes made to PUBG Mobile at Asian Games 2022 can considerably impact on the performance of teams practicing for this event. Its format is very different than the usual mode and hence, teams will need to alter their regular practice schedule to align with the newly specified format.

On April 8th, Twitch star Felix ‘xQc’ Lengyel revealed that he was starting a podcast together with fellow streamer Imane ‘Pokimane’ Anys.

However, the podcast, the first episode of which was supposed to take place on April 9th, didn’t go quite as planned.

The podcast was all set to kick off, but xQc was nowhere to be found and Pokimane was left hanging in front of her audience during the live stream.

When asked by her fans on why xQc was absent, Pokimane tried to explain why she thought he didn’t show up. Poki didn’t blame xQc for his absence though, and claimed that he might have misunderstood her words or lost track of time.

“I think he forgot that today was Saturday,” the 25-year-old said. “Or maybe he thought that I meant next Saturday? I don’t know. But I really think he just lost track of the days, which happens. It happened to me”

It’s likely that the podcast will be rescheduled in the near future, and given the individual popularity of these streamers, the podcast is almost certain to be a huge hit among their fan bases.
