Soul Mortal and 8Bit Thug’s YouTube channel is hacked

The YouTube channels of two of the biggest gaming personalities in the Indian gaming community have been hacked by a common attacker as Soul Mortal and 8Bit Thug have lost access to their precious YouTube IDs. The name of their channels have been changed to MicroStrategy US.

S8UL fans were taken by surprise earlier this evening as they could not find the YouTube account of Soul Mortal as well as 8Bit Thug. Most of the videos from their respective YouTube channels were deleted and later, the name was changed as well.

8Bit Thug confirmed that their accounts were hacked and mentioned YouTube India in his official tweet in an attempt to get their account back. This is not the first time that a famous YouTuber has lost their account as a similar thing happened with Carryminati and 8Bit Thug himself back in 2020.

The accounts were recovered very soon within a few hours of getting hacked and a similar thing can be expected this time as well. The appearance of 8Bit Thug’s YouTube channel has been changed with the change in display picture but no such thing is seen on Mortal’s channel.

The hackers that have targeted Mortal and Thug belong to the same organization or group as the names of the hacked channels are similar, mentioning MicroStrategy US in their name.

TSM Shadow opens up about alleged “exploitation and harassment”

Arjun “SHADOW” Mandhalkar has come forward and spoke up about alleged exploitation, harassment and threats faced by him by unnamed entities from the esports community. He has uploaded a post asking for support from his fans as he is taking a fight of “David against a Goliath” by speaking about unjust practices within the community.

Shadow alleges these companies/organizations of exploiting esports players and fans while mentioning about challenging the boundaries that are based on “exploitation, harassment and threat.”

Earlier today, TSM India uploaded a statement stating that their BGMI roster’s in-game leader, Shadow, was being poached by some organization. Some organization has registered Shadow as their own player without contacting TSM even though he was still under contract with them.

After this post, Shadow uploaded a post on his own Instagram handle and said that he has decided to fight against certain companies/organizations formed with intent to exploit esports players and fanbase. His entire statement is as follows:

A post shared by SHAĐØW (@ig.shadow.og)

There might have been friction between TSM India and Shadow as TSM was seemingly trying out different players in their active roster. Someone named “TSM Tryout”, a fake-named BGMI player, was seen taking the place of Shadow in the recent third-party events and Shadow was rumoured to be playing from some other organization as well.

Shadow has also mentioned that he will be “quitting” toxic relation with such companies and since he is currently under the contract of TSM, this post seems to be aimed at them.

TSM India reveals Shadow is being poached

TSM India, the faction of Team Solomid that operates mobile esports rosters in India, has revealed that Shadow, the key player and IGL of TSM’s BGMI roster is being poached or tampered by an unnamed organization. The official handle of TSM India revealed this information after Shadow was missing from TSM’s active roster in third-party tournaments like TEC BGMI Invitational.

After BMPS S1 came to an end, many teams have started to reform their roster and as a result, top organizations have been trying out different players in unofficial tournaments. Most of these new players have been playing under the nickname of “tryout” or “trial” so as to not reveal their real identity and a similar thing is currently seen in TSM, GodLike and Marcos Gaming.

TSM was seen playing with their regular roster but Shadow, their in-game leader, was replaced by a new entity called as “TSM Tryout”. It is rumoured that Shadow is playing from a different team and it has been confirmed by TSM India’s official Instagram handle.

As per the snippet above, Shadow seems to be an open agent for the upcoming BGMI LAN event as TSM has mentioned that they have “offered to get a loan agreement” that will allow Shadow to play in the LAN tournament.

Shadow is still seemingly not allowed to leave the organization as TSM has specifically mentioned that “Shadow is still contracted to TSM” and despite this, an unnamed organization has “registered Shadow” as their own player without the former’s consent.

TSM has taken this issue to the officials as Krafton will be involved in this investigation of alleged poaching of Shadow from TSM. They are currently awaiting the response from officials and a verdict is expected in a short time.

If the name “fragloser” didn’t give it away, I’ve been playing FPS games for a long time. In fact, my first shooters were Quake III, Half Life, and UT99. It’s one of my favorite genres, and I’ve always had nostalgia for the industrial, heavy shapes mixed with potent and often unstable energy sources. With the recent resurgence of classic arena shooters, I felt it was the perfect time to bring that nostalgia and heavy sci-fantasy into the world of VALORANT.

Valorant patch 5.0 notes: New map Pearl, new ‘Ascendant’ rank, Split removed

0

The new Valorant patch brings several changes from introducing a new map “Pearl” to a new rank being added to the system, known as the “Ascendant”. The Ascendant rank is set to bridge the skill gap between Diamond and Immortal, and players will have to climb through the three tiers of Ascendant before making it to Immortal from the next update.

As we nosedive further, the map Split has now been removed from the Unrated and Competitive environment while the newest addition “Pearl” won’t field ranked games for the first two weeks from its official launch in order to accommodate players and help them to get the basic idea of the map.

You can find the 5.0 Patch notes here below:

MAP UPDATES

pearl-banner.jpg

PEARL

  • NEW MAP: Pearl goes live!
  • Pearl-only queue
    • This queue is a standard, Unrated mode that will give players a chance to practice the new map before they see it in Competitive play.
    • Pearl-only queue will be available for 2 weeks, then after that Pearl will enter Competitive.
split-banner.jpg

SPLIT

  • We are temporarily removing Split from the map pool in Unrated and Competitive queues
  • There are reasons! You can read more about our decision in our map pool update article.

COMPETITIVE UPDATES

NEW RANK: ASCENDANT

  • Added an additional rank above Diamond, below Immortal, called “Ascendant.”
    • We believe our lower ranks have a few too many of you, especially Bronze and Silver. When we were looking at rank distribution, we realized that if we were to move some of you up and out of those lower ranks, it would overpopulate Platinum and Diamond. So by adding a new rank we can better distribute you across ranks, keep the prestige of high ranks, while helping better define the skill level of each rank.
  • Moved the rank MMR targets that determine rank down, due to the addition of the new Ascendant rank, for all ranks below Ascendant. Moved the ranked target for Immortal 1/2/3 and Radiant up.
    • These are the cut-offs that say “You should be X MMR to reach this rank”. MMR targets determine your RR gains and help push your rank to match your MMR.
  • This means players will go up in rank, if they are below Ascendant.
  • To align with our expectations of what it means to be in the highest ranks of VALORANT, Immortal+ players will find it harder to climb back to their previous episode rank. This means Immortal will also have a smaller leaderboard population in all regions.
  • Due to the seasonal reset, you may not see a rank increase at the start of the Episode without putting in some work; but the reset will be “less harsh” compared to the last Episode reset. So because we are pushing the player base upwards to fill Ascendant, the reset will not hit you as hard.
  • Next time we reset ranks it will probably push you down more than this Episode’s reset. Please remember that the “less harsh” reset is unique to this Episode because of the introduction of Ascendant.
  • Grouping restrictions for Ascendant are 3 ranks above or below the Ascendant ranked player
    • This fits in with our Platinum+ rule set for grouping.
  • The highest placement allowed has increased to Ascendant 1 (previously Diamond 1)
  • Five stacking 25% RR penalty now starts at Immortal 1 (previously Diamond 3)
  • Solo/Duo/5-stack restriction now starts at Immortal 1 (previously Diamond 3)
    • Remember, Diamond 3 and above could previously only solo, duo, and 5-stack. This restriction now begins at Immortal 1.
    • By adding another rank we were able to push the Five Stack penalty and Solo/Duo restrictions into Immortal. This makes it more straight forward, Immortal is where the leaderboard starts and because of this we try to hold players more accountable for their standings.
  • Due to a naming clash with the new rank, we’ve renamed Sage’s tier 8 Agent Contract unlock—the new Sage title is “Dauntless”
    • Renaming this title was not something we chose lightly, but after talking about the title we felt like it was a chance to give the title more meaning to Sage and her personality/theme.

GAME SYSTEMS

  • Fixed a bug where using an Ultimate point orb or defusing the Spike at maximum range could cause channeling and progress bar animations to flicker
  • Fixed a bug where the use channeling progression bar does not update if the player disconnects and reconnects during the match
  • Fixed a bug where some weapon equips could play the wrong equip speed animation, which could visually misrepresent when you were able to fire. Some situations impacted by this bug were:

New CSGO Update Nerfs M4A1-S, Brings Changes to Ancient, Inferno

A new update has been shipped to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive on June 16th, and it brings some major changes to the game that can potentially alter the existing meta of the shooter.

The most notable of these changes include nerfs to the M4A1-S – the gun that has dominated the meta of CS:GO since it got reduced in price than its non-silenced counterpart.

The new CS:GO update reduces the M4A1-S magazine size to 20 bullets, with 80 in reserve. For the unaware, the previous version of the weapon had 25 bullets in the magazine, with another 75 in reserve.

This means that the total number of bullets in your M4A1-S is still the same, but the reduced magazine size will significantly hamper your ability to spray through smokes, and players will need to have trigger discipline if they want to continue using the M4A1-S over the M4A4.

The new CS:GO update also introduces some significant changes to the newest active duty map, Ancient.

These updates include fixes to various bugs, glitches, and lighting issues throughout the map to make it more suitable for professional play.

The bomb explosion radius on Inferno has been increased from 500 to 620, while Vertigo, Cache, and Vineyard also received some minor changes.

Fans can read all about the new update along with the detailed patch notes on the official blog post here.
