First Look Of Dr. Disrespect’s FPS Game Deadrop Released

0

Respected streamer and now a game developer, Dr. Disrespect has finally revealed the first look at Midnight Studio’s upcoming FPS game called Deadrop. Previously known as “Project Moon”, Deadrop is a vertical extraction shooter (VES) game that incorporates the use of non-fungible tokens or NFT.

Last week on Friday, Dr. Disrespect hosted a live event in Los Angeles where he revealed more details about “Deadrop” and unveiled the first look at the game. Disrespect had invited industry insiders to the event which also included some known esports organizations.

If you’ve played games like Escape from Tarkov or Hunt: Showdown, then the upcoming game from Dr. Disrespect is going to feel extremely similar. However, Deadrop will be different from other games mentioned above due to its “vertical” twist and closed space combat. Instead of running around on an open map like Tarkov or Hunt, players have to face off against each other in the ruins of massive buildings.

Aside from the above difference, the game will also be the first to feature NFTs build right into the game. For months now the Founders Pass NFTs have been on sale. Those who purchased the Founders Pass NFTs had early access to the game when it was called “Project Moon”.

While the Founders Pass NFTs have all sold out (or maybe pulled down), according to Midnight Society new ‘Deadrop’ NFTs are still coming and will give access to future closed betas.

BGMI Is A BIG Cyber Threat To India, says Govt Officials

0

A central intelligence agency report and letter from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) to the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (Meity) caused a ban on the popular battle royale game Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI).

The report discussed infractions that can cause cyber dangers by harvesting user data for profiling in order to carry out targeted cyberattacks on Indian users. These violations can occur when user data is harvested for profiling.

According to a high-ranking official in the government, the application has a number of problems, the most significant of which is that it communicates with servers that are either directly or indirectly situated in China.

A number of sources have also confirmed that additional apps that have undergone a “rebranding” process are connecting with servers located in China and are being investigated.

Following many iterations of investigation by Indian government entities, the decision was made to submit a request to Google requesting that the program be removed from the Play Store.

“The analysis also showed that this application has malicious code and also acquires a host of critical permissions,” a senior government official told News18 on the condition of anonymity. “This application could be misused for compromising user data for surveillance through camera/microphone, location tracking, and malicious network activities,” the official said. “The analysis also showed that this application acquires a host of critical permissions.”

“Apps like these are harmful to India’s sovereignty and integrity, and they pose a significant threat to the country’s national security infrastructure.” According to an official who works in Meity, who spoke to News18, “the inputs were shared with us, and prompt action was done without any delay from the administration.”

Although the official order to prohibit BGMI in India has not yet been issued, Meity has already begun the process by requesting that the software be removed from app shops such as Google Play.

After this, the firm will offer its side of the argument, and then the judge will make a final determination regarding the total ban.

The game’s developer, Krafton, has stated that it is actively striving to revive the project. The organization recently released a statement in which it stated that it is dedicated to the Indian market and is optimistic about the possibilities that exist in the country.

“Here at KRAFTON, protecting the personal information of our customers and respecting their right to privacy are two of our highest priorities. We have always been in compliance with all of the rules and regulations in India, including the laws and regulations governing the protection of personal information, and we will continue to adhere to them.

In the meantime, Google has confirmed that the company has been given an official order to remove the game from its platform by the authorities.

“On receipt of the order, following the established process, we have notified the affected developer and have blocked access to the app that remained available on Play Store in India,” it said. “On receipt of the order, we have blocked access to the app that remained available on Play Store in India.”

Is REBRANDING an option?

According to senior officials who are responsible for analyzing these applications, illegal Chinese apps have been renamed in India despite the fact that there is not a single server located in the country .

“These apps have re-launched in India simply like old wine in a new bottle, but they didn’t install any servers in India,” the company said in a statement. Additionally, they capture data like as location, audio, and access to other sensitive information, all of which have the potential to be exploited.

According to a senior government source, “BGMI is likewise a rebranded version of PUBG.” Even earlier, the government had prohibited the use of a few Chinese applications, which were afterwards renamed and distributed under new brand names.

The government of China, working through its many agencies, maintains a close watch on Chinese mobile applications and performs periodic evaluations on them.

Chinese mobile applications that, according to the government, breach a variety of Indian laws have been subject to a steady stream of bans. As cross-border tensions remain high, the Indian government decided to prohibit 54 new Chinese-made apps in February of this year, citing the fact that these apps represent a “threat to India’s security.”

The vast majority of them were imitations of apps that had been prohibited by the government in the wake of the conflict in Galwan Valley, but which had since been renamed and reintroduced in India in a stealthy manner.

The addition of 54 additional restricted apps brings the total to 324, including Tik Tok and PUBG (earlier version), which had to partner with Chinese enterprises due to the ban in India.

BGMI banned for communicating with Chinese servers: Report

BGMI getting removed from Google Play Store and Apple App Store sent shockwaves throughout India, unlike the last time, it happened without any prior warning.

A community of millions were left dumbfounded as no one had any clear knowledge of why it may have happened.

Sources have mentioned that the incident has something to do with the game being party to a potential cyber theft.

BGMI Is A BIG Cyber Threat To India

BGMI was reportedly banned following a report by the intelligence agency which prompted a letter from the Indian Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) to the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), informing them about the issue. The game was removed for precautionary purposes and a full-fledged ban is likely to follow suit.

According to News18, “The report talked about violations that can create cyber threats by harvesting user data for profiling to carry out targeted cyber-attacks on Indian users.”.

“The analysis also showed that this application has malicious code and also acquires a host of critical permissions, which could be misused for compromising user data for surveillance through camera/microphone, location tracking, and malicious network activities,” a senior government official told News18.

“Such apps are detrimental to sovereignty and integrity of India and can be very dangerous for the Indian security grid. The inputs were shared with us and immediate action was taken without any delay from the government,” an official working in Meity told News18.

The article further states that the developer KRAFTON is formulating a case in their defense which is the only thing that is holding up a permanent ban.

“At KRAFTON, the security and privacy of our user data are of utmost importance to us. We have always been compliant with all the laws and regulations in India, including data protection laws and regulations, and will continue abiding by them.” says the developer.

Rebranding or launching the game under a different corporate umbrella will not help them get out of this. With government cracking down on Chinese apps, it will be very difficult to penetrate the Indian market after this as long as the game has ties with China.

How to Beat Giovanni in Pokemon GO: Shadow Latios Counters

0

If you’re playing Pokemon GO in August 2022, then you might want to defeat the infamous leader of Team Rocket, Giovanni, at some point during your adventure. Not only is he extremely difficult to defeat without a proper lineup, but his Phase 3 Shadow Latios is capable of wiping out entire teams alone.

Giovanni’s Pokemon GO roster was last switched during the Pokemon GO Battle Weekend event, and his August 2022 lineup will remain the same.

While his Shadow Latios will be the biggest problem you’ll be facing while trying to take down Giovanni, you can’t let your guard down while fighting his other Pokemon either. In fact, you’ll have to make sure that you have counters for all of his Pokemon if you’re looking to beat him in Pokemon GO.

Pokemon GO: How to Beat Giovanni

Here’s the current lineup of Giovanni in Pokemon GO as of August 2022:

  • Phase 1: Persian
  • Phase 2: Nidoking / Machamp / Rhyperior
  • Phase 3: Shadow Latios

Here are the counters to each phase:

Phase 1 – Persian Counters:

Persian is a Normal-type Pokemon and is weak against Fighting types while being immune to Ghost types.

To be able to beat Persian easily, make sure to have a Fighting-type Pokemon on your team. Some good counters to Persian would be Lucario or Machamp.

Phase 2 – Nidoking Counters

Nidoking is a Poison/Ground-type Pokemon and is weak against Ground, Ice, Psychic, or Water-type Pokemon.

Some good counters to Nidoking are Kyogre or Mewtwo.

Phase 2 – Machamp Counters

Machamp is a Fighting-type Pokemon and is weak against Fairy, Flying, or Psychic-type Pokemon.

Mewtwo would be a good counter to Machamp as well.

Phase 2 – Rhyperior counters

Rhyperior is a Ground/Rock-type Pokemon and is weak against Grass and Water-type Pokemon.

Water-type Pokemon like Kyogre or Grass-type Pokemon like Torterra might be a good choice here.

Giovanni Phase 3 – Shadow Latios Counters

The Shadow Latias that Giovanni uses is a Dragon/Psychic-type Pokemon, making it weak against Bug, Dark, Dragon, Fairy, Ghost, or Ice-type attacks, while being resistant against Electric, Fighting, Fire, Grass, Psychic, and Water-type attacks.

Some good Pokemon to defeat Shadow Latios would include Legendaries like Dialga, Palkia, or Rayquaza.

Apex players gets free Heirloom with a major level cap increase in season 14

The level maximum is effectively going up from 500 to 2,000, and players will be rewarded with enough Apex Packs to exceed the threshold at which they are assured to receive an Heirloom Shards drop as a result of this change.

However, as the experience design director for Respawn Entertainment, Aaron Rutledge, revealed during a press event held the previous week, the grind to reach the new maximum level will not be nearly the same as it was for the first 500 levels.

“So in season 14, we’re going to expand the max level cap by looping through 1-500 three extra times,” he continued. “This will bring the total number of possible levels to a maximum of 500.”

Despite the fact that this would make the new level ceiling technically 2,000, the levels will be represented in-game by the new badges that come with completing the prestige versions of the original 500 levels.

Most importantly, though, this will provide players with the option to acquire additional complimentary Apex Packs.

According to Rutledge, “This will add an extra 345 Apex Packs to what you can earn by account growth, bringing the total number of Apex Packs you can earn by playing to 544.” “This will add an additional 345 Apex Packs to what you can earn by account progression,” “For those of you who are familiar with our heirloom system, you are aware that once you reach the level cap of 500, you are certain of receiving an heirloom.

“I believe that a lot of gamers will be thrilled when they are finally rewarded for the effort they have put into the game and receive that Heirloom.”

Since the beginning of the first year, when the battle royale’s original 100 levels were extended to 500, there has not been a level cap rise in Apex. According to Rutledge, the beginning of season 14 marked the point in time when it was ultimately necessary to implement another update, with the intention “to increase what our most committed gamers may dive into.”

When the new season starts on August 9, free-to-play gamers that are dedicated to the game will be able to obtain at least one item from Apex’s elusive Mythic Store without having to invest a single cent into the game, although the grind to reach max level will once again be a long one.

Bungie disables Destiny 2 text chat after players abuse game-crashing exploit

0

Bungie has disabled Destiny 2’s text chat after an exploit crashed opponents’ games.

Players of Destiny 2 recently discovered a way to achieve an instant win for themselves, notably in the PvP form of the game, by spamming the text chat while they were playing. By doing so, they would cause their opponents’ match to be terminated, which would give them the victory by default.

Players were quick to notice the problems, and the community quickly made its presence known on Reddit and other social media channels, encouraging Bungie to correct the problems as soon as possible. They were, of course, drawing attention to the violent conduct of those who took advantage of the error to secure easy victories for themselves.

Prior to Bungie’s intervention, people were discussing ways to try to stop this issue from occurring in the first place.

As soon as Bungie was made aware of the problem, they moved immediately to resolve it. The developers have come to the conclusion that it is in everyone’s best interest to disable text chat in the game while they work on finding a solution to the glitch.

On August 1 at 10 a.m. (Pacific Standard Time), there will be an initial maintenance patch. Bungie has confirmed that there will be maintenance for this, and they have stated that it would assist with preparation for the release of the Hotfix 4.1.5.2 patch the following day, on August 2.

Even while Bungie hasn’t explicitly stated that the chat exploit will be fixed by this patch, it’s safe to believe that it will. However, users of Destiny should anticipate that the game will continue to function without the option to participate in in-game chat until Hotfix 4.1.5.2 is implemented.

Study Finds CSGO To Be the Most Exciting Esport To Play

Valve’s CSGO is arguably one of the biggest esports FPS titles on the planet right now with almost 800k daily active players playing the game daily. While the game is almost 10 years old now, the popularity of the game has risen over time, the core gameplay and tense competitive games have remained true to the 25-year-old franchise.

According to a study by Quantic Foundry which included a survey of 140,000 gamers, CSGO reigns supreme as the most exciting game to play. CSGO ranks as number one among popular titles, above even MOBA esports games like Dota2, LoL, Heroes of Storm, etc.

CSGO Is The Most Exciting Esport To Play

The data analysis and information related to the study were released as part of a broader analysis of popular games that are actively being played daily. The company also created a graph with an axis for excitement and another for strategy. Games were placed based on how players rated them.

Games that demand long-term thinking and slow decision-making are labeled strategic. Fast-paced games with on-the-fly options and high mechanical requirements are deemed exciting.

Gamers consistently rated CSGO the most exciting esport game thanks to its frequent stressful situations and fast-paced reactions. Another study conducted back in 2021 also concluded that CSGO is the most relaxing esport title to play.
