God’s Reign send Reckoning Esports to the lower bracket in VCL SA Split 2

God’s Reign set a statement as they took down Reckoning Esports in a three-map series, winning 2-1 against them.

The roster of God’s Reign consists of Vibhor “Vibhor” Vaid as IGL,Simar “psy” Sethi, Aman “Hoax” Yadav, Nick “tixx” Quinn, Kale “autumn” Dunne and Garvit “Ember” Nehra(Sub).

Reckoning Esports Roster and Lineup

Reckoning Esports had a talented lineup of Harsh “Harshhh” Arora as IGL, Saksham “Deadly10” Aurangabadkar, Jit “Tryst” Dutta, Daniil “flabben” Merzlyakov, Aleksandr “hvoya” Eremin and  Varun “Mast3r” Menon.

Map Veto and Selection

Split was banned by Reckoning Esports and Pearl was banned by God’s Reign. Ascent and Haven were picked. Fracture and Lotus were banned again to make the decider map Bind.

Match Recap

RGE won the opening round in Ascent but lost a thrifty anti-eco round to GDR. Tixx got a quad kill in Round 4 and GDR got a lead of 3-1. RGE got a flawless Round 5. Psydreams got a 1v2 clutch and Hvoya got a quad kill and Flabben got a 1v2 clutch to close the half at 6-6.

GDR won the second pistol as Autumn hit an Ace with his ghost. They won the anti-eco as well as the bonus round, leading 9-6. RGE won round 18 and that was it as GDR closed the map at 13-7, giving away only one round the entire second half.

Haven started with RGE winning the pistol and the anti-eco round. GDR won the full buy round as Autumn got a quad kill. RGE led the map as Hvoya got a quad kill and a 2v4 clutch in round 8, leading 6-2. RGE managed to close the half at 8-4, as Hvoya got a triple kill again in round 12.

RGE won the second pistol as Harshhh got a triple-kill clutch to defend the spike defuse. They won the anti-eco round but lost the bonus. GDR almost made the comeback but fortunately, RGE managed to close the map at 13-10, taking the series to the third map.

RGE started Bind in their favor by winning the pistol and anti-eco round. They lost the bonus but won two more consecutive rounds, leading 4-1. GDR converted a thrifty win in Round 6. RGE led 6-2 but GDR managed to recover and closed the half at 6-6. 

GDR dominated the second half as they did not drop a single round and finished the third map at 13-6, winning the series 2-1.

God’s Reign will now meet Aster Army in the Semi-Finals on 4th June 2023, Sunday at 5 PM.
