It was a do-or-die situation for both the teams, but God’s Reign proved to be a stronger team as they reverse swept Aster Army after being 0-1 down, winning the lower bracket semi-finals, throwing Aster Army out of the tournament.

The 6-man roster of God’s Reign consists of Vibhor “Vibhor” Vaid as IGL, Garvit “Ember” Nehra, Aman “Hoax” Yadav, Nick “tixx” Quinn, Kale “autumn” Dunne, and Simar “psy” Sethi.

Map Veto and Selection

Aster Army banned Lotus and God’s Reign banned Fracture. Aster went on to select Ascent and God’s Reign selected Haven. Split and Icebox were banned, making the final map Pearl.

Match Recap

On Ascent GDR started off strong with Autumn’s quad kill winning them the pistol round. AA forced their buy in the next round but lost it, eventually giving GDR 3 rounds in a row. But they managed to equalize the score at 3-3. Round 7 saw a thrifty win by GDR as Autumn got triple kills on his Jett knives. Round 11 again saw a thrifty win by GDR as Tixx hit some of the most insane sheriff shots, getting him a 4k. The half ended at 7-5 as Hoax managed to get a triple kill to close the round.

The second half started with AA winning the pistol round, GDR forced the next round, which they won and hence didn’t give AA any chance to build momentum. AA managed to equalize the score at 9-9. In round 19, Vibhorr managed to pick 3 kills, only to lose the round as Kohlii clutched a 1 vs 2 situation. AA led 11-9, but GDR managed to push the match into overtime where AA managed to win the match 14-12 with Kishi’s 3k.

Haven started with Kishi getting a quad kill but still GDR winning the pistol round. They won the anti-eco round but lost the Bonus. GDR still managed to lead 5-1, Round 7 was won by AA, thanks to Dominik’s 3k. GDR got their momentum back after winning round 8 as Vibhorr got a triple kill, and proceeded to close the half at 10-2. 

AA tried to catch momentum in the second half as Doxzer clutched the pistol round with a quad kill, and GDR decided to force the next round which they eventually lost due to Kishi’s 3k, forcing them to eco again, in which Doxzer got another quad-kill, making the score 6-10. Round 17 was a thrifty win converted by GDR. They managed to close out the map 13-6 with Autumn’s amazing quad kill on Jett. Autumn’s amazing performance bagged him the map MVP as his KDA was 24/12/1.

Pearl saw a strong start by GDR as they won the pistol round. AA decided to force buy the next round but lost it so they had to play another eco round as Vibhorr clutched a 1v2 in round 3.  In round 11, Autumn managed to win a 1v3 situation on his Jett knives, getting the score up to 8-3. GDR managed to close the half at 8-4, as AA didn’t seem to understand the defensive setup of the opponents. 

GDR continued to show their dominance as they won the pistol round again and closed the map at 13-5, only dropping one round in their entire attacking side.

Autumn took the Match MVP title, having a KDA of 71/41/5 in 3 maps.

God’s Reign will now face True Rippers in the Lower Bracket Finals.
