New Battle Royale sees 200,000 concurrent viewers on Twitch for CSGO

The hype around the new Battle Royale mode for CSGO called Danger Zone has certainly beefed up, after Twitch recorded over 200000 concurrent viewers for the game shortly after its release at 3:30 am IST on December 7.

This means that the game has reached new highs, with that number being the most since IEM Chicago Grand Finale on the 11th of November. Over half of the views were because of popular Canadian Streamer Michael “shroud” Grzesiek and it was a proud moment for CS enthusiasts as it beat Fortnite to claim number 1 spot, albeit for a short while, despite it launching Season 7 of its Battle Royale pass.

This update officially completes the entry of CS in the hugely popular Battle Royale format, taking cues from Fortnite and more recently Call of Duty Black Ops 4. Although late, the buzz around the game has caught the attention of gamers which has increased its player base, but only time will tell whether this spike will actually sustain.
