Indian players get one of the better deals. One comparison found that after currency conversion, only South Korea and Japan offer a lower effective price for the Standard Edition.
Both editions cost the same on PS5 and Xbox, so the choice comes down to which console you own.
What time does GTA 6 release in India?
Pre-orders opened worldwide at midnight local time on June 25, 2026, and the launch is expected to follow the same pattern. According to the PlayStation Store listing, the game unlocks at midnight in each time zone.
India has a single time zone, so PS5 players should be able to start playing at 12:00 AM IST on Thursday, November 19. Rockstar hasn’t confirmed an exact unlock time for Xbox, so check the Microsoft Store listing closer to launch.

Physical: Rockstar confirmed that GTA 6 will also be sold through select physical retailers. Before you buy a box, know that it contains a download code, not a disc. You’ll still need to download the full game, so the boxed version mainly helps if you want to pay at a store or gift it.
Standard vs Ultimate: which should you buy?
The Standard Edition at ₹5,999 includes the full single-player campaign without locking any core missions or areas behind the Ultimate Edition.
The Ultimate Edition adds exclusive in-game shops, vehicles such as the Grotti Cheetah and the Squalo boat, and weapons such as the Hawk and Little Morgan revolvers. You can also buy the Ultimate content later as a separate upgrade.
Our take: For most players, the Standard Edition is enough. You can always upgrade after launch once you know how much you’re playing.
Pre-order bonus in India
Indian pre-orders get the same Vintage Vice City Pack as everyone else. Anyone who buys before November 20 also gets a free month of GTA+.

GTA 6 collector’s box and controller in India
