CSGO: GuardiaN join forces with AdreN and Dosia for IEM NY Qualifiers

GuardiaN to form a mixed team with AdreN and Dosia along with lamp and nukkye to compete in the second CIS qualifier for IEM New York under the old banner.

Ladislav “GuardiaN” Kovács had trouble finding his form after the FaZe Clan’s super-team project went south. Soon he found himself on the chopping block alongside Danish mastermind Finn ‘”Karrigan” Anderson as FaZe went through a serious roster overhaul. Since the shuffle, GuardiaN joined NaVi only to continue his poor form and later get replaced by Ilya “Perfecto” Zalutskiy. The Slovak had showings as a stand-in for Dignitas in Flashpoint where they produced underwhelming results, thus keeping him on the bench ever since.

Dauren “AdreN” Kystaubayev for the better part of 2019 had an amazing year, reaching the Berlin Major finals with Avangar, who were later picked up by Virtus Pro. Under the VP banner, the team failed to reach the same heights as they did in 2019 under Avangar, thus leading them to freshen up their lineup. YEKINDAR came in from PRO100 and AdreN was replaced by buster who returned after a break. AdreN shared the stage with GuardiaN during his foray with FaZe, the duo seemed to have worked out on a solution to get out of inactivity.

The team gets complemented by yet another veteran in Mihail “Dosia” Stolyarov. Dosia is familiar with AdreN from their time in Gambit, where the duo completed a fairytale run at PGL Major Krakow 2017, under the leadership of Zeus.

Dosia’s inclusion adds more than enough experience a team needs. The roster gets rounded off by two inactive and relatively young players from the CIS region. Žygimantas “nukkye Chmieliauskas, who has been inactive since parting ways with HellRaisers earlier this year, and Alexander “lamp” Noviy who last played in 2015 for Vega Squadron.

The OldG roster looks like the following:

  • Ladislav “GuardiaN” Kovács
  • Dauren “AdreN” Kystaubayev
  • Mihail “Dosia” Stolyarov
  • Žygimantas “nukkye” Chmieliauskas
  • Alexander “lamp” Noviy
