Falcons Outclass MongolZ to Reach EWC 2026 Quarterfinals

Falcons are through to the Esports World Cup 2026, beating MongolZ with a 2-0 scoreline after back-to-back maps of domination that saw them reach the Quarterfinals. Controlling the momentum in the entirety of the map, they managed to outclass the Asian side in a match that was never expected to be close and came out of it with a stunning win.

Map 1: Inferno; Pick: MongolZ; Winner: Falcons

Starting strong with pistol round conversion, Falcons went 3-0 up before MongolZ got their first round. Falcons, playing highly proactively on the defence, saw them get the opening kills, which allowed them to keep control of the momentum and close the half with a 9-3 scoreline. After a strong and impenetrable defensive half, Falcons carried their momentum into a fast-paced offense on the T side. As Falcons continued to dominate, they went on to pick up 4 rounds in a row to close out the map with a heavily one-sided 13-3 scoreline.

Map 2: Dust2; Pick: Falcons; Winner: Falcons

Winning the first two rounds, MongolZ went 2-0 up before Falcons took away the momentum with a gun round. As both teams started trading rounds, the first half gave us a tight affair that would see Falcons edge out with a narrow 7-5 lead. MongolZ won the second pistol round of the map, which saw them level the scoreline. Hitting the board with the first buy round, Falcons cruised to double digits before the final few rounds saw both teams share rounds to close out the map and secure a Quarterfinals berth with a 13-9 scoreline.

The Falcons ship sails with momentum, throwing MongolZ to the wayside. Confidence remains high as the reigning Major champion; they look like a team who are primed to go all the way in the Esports World Cup 2026. Time will tell if they go all the way, but for now they are in the QFs and heavy favourites against anyone they are about to face.
