Boca Juniors to enter CSGO

Boca Juniors is the latest sports team to enter the scene, with the Argentinian football club to enter League of Legends and CSGO in 2021.

The tweet on their official handle stated that this would mark “the beginning of a new stage for the club.” Their announcement follows the launch of a League of Legends team by fellow rivals San Lorenzo.

Apart from them, Boca’s biggest rivals, River Plate also announced a League of Legends team this year, forming a potentially competitive gaming scene in Argentina.

While Boca Juniors have not revealed their lineup, it is speculated that their CSGO lineup will be coached by Elias “s1cop” Cisternas and include the likes of Facundo “minimal” Pereyra and Eduardo “laser” Chshekin, who are currently without a team.

In what is seen as an exciting time for Argentinian Esports, 2 of their best teams 9z and Isurus will fight for a spot in the BLAST Premier Fall Showdown at the Regional Finals of the FlowFiReLEAGUE, a new $70,000 league launched this year. Add to this the imminent announcement of another CSGO lineup by Boca Juniors, and the scene can suddenly get very spicy and competitive in Argentina.
