Rise of hackers in Warzone 2.0 ahead of Season 2 launch

0

The highly anticipated Warzone 2 Season 2 is on its way and everyone is excited about the plethora of new things that will come with it, however, the rise in the number of cheaters has called for major concerns, especially when Season 2 is on its way.

Upon its launch, Warzone was arguably the most popular Battle Royal on the planet. The game had everything going for however a weak anti-cheat opened the floodgates for cheaters to abuse. Not only Warzone, COD, in general, has been plagued with cheaters and as years passed by the developer became more and more desperate to solve the problem.

With their latest anti-cheat, the cheating problem was solved to a great extent however, as we approach the launch of Season 2, players have reported a sudden rise in the number of cheaters, which points to a major security issue that may have surfaced with one of the latest updates.

“My friend and I have been dying to people using this aimbot fairly often the past few days. Becoming a big issue,”
“Cheaters are running rampant again. The last two days have been miserable,”  raised concerns.

From the clip that went viral on Reddit, it is readily apparent that cheaters have surfaced again. The latest security update has failed and this can be why we see Season 2 go down the drains in the coming days. In the past, we have seen major personalities publicly claim to quit playing Warzone for this issue alone and if it persists, we might see the game lose a large part of its player base.

Government is Working on Online Gaming Regulation: Centre to Delhi High Court

0

Indian Government is currently working on finalizing the draft for online gaming regulation, said the Centre’s lawyer on Monday.

The Centre’s lawyer made this statement before the bench of Chief Justice Satish Chandra and Justice Subramonium Prasad while the Court was hearing petitions by Atul Batra and Avinash Mehrotra regarding online gaming regulation in India.

Draft regulation has been circulated and consultations have started. Stakeholder meeting with all representatives, whether lawyers or civil society… two rounds have already happened. We are in the process of finalising the same

Centre’s Lawyer

After hearing to both sides, the Court declared that the matter will be raised again after a period of eight weeks. Moreover, the Court also granted freedom to Atul Batra to approach the Court in terms of any objection.

According to Atul Batra’s petition, games of chance are being promoted as games of skill and it is as bad as any other addiction. Moreover, it can also damage the youth of India if online gambling and betting is not regulated properly.

As per Avinash Mehrotra’s petition, the unregulated market of online gambling has made India a heaven for laundering money through hawala operations. In his plea, he also asked the Centre to “prosecute the unscrupulous owners/proprietors, and the promoters of the online gambling websites, in accordance with law”.

Back in January 2023, the Indian Government officially recognized esports and announced that it will be a part of the multi-sports event under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.

The online gaming regulation is on the limelight as it will provide a shape to the Indian gaming industry.
