Valorant 5-Stack Restrictions Removed in Patch 7.07 Update

As Valorant Episode 7 Act 2 nears its end, Riot Games is gearing up to ship the upcoming 7.07 update to the competitive shooter.

The patch notes for the next Valorant update has already been revealed by the developers, and while the 7.07 update isn’t bringing any major changes to the title, there are a bunch of important adjustments to certain Agents and gameplay elements that players should take note of before they head into Valorant Episode 7 Act 3.

The biggest and perhaps the most important change that Valorant 7.07 will bring is the change to competitive 5-stacks. The upcoming Valorant update will revert the changes to 5-stack matchmaking that were introduced in patch 7.06.

For the uninitiated, the Valorant 7.06 update limited players who were Ascendant or above to queuing with players ranked Platinum or higher only.

“We know how important it is to play with your friends and your need for flexibility in order to do that,” Riot Games said in a statement. “Initially, the rank restriction was made to prevent people from illegitimately boosting to the highest ranks like Radiant. In the end, we realized that your ability to have flexibility with your 5 stack was more important than the very small number of people who abuse this exploit.”

Other than the competitive changes, Valorant 7.07 also brings with it a number of interesting adjustments that fans can check out below:

  • Updated the destruction VFX for the destructible door panels located at Mid Doors/Garage in order to make it easier to see through as it falls away.

  • Enabled multithreaded rendering for discrete Intel GPUs and lowered required CPU core count.

BUG FIXES

GENERAL

In Patch 7.06, we fixed a bug that allowed the game to output surround sound when certain conditions were met, but the surround mix was untested and unsupported. VALORANT currently only supports stereo and mono sound output.

  • To simulate surround sound on headphones, we offer an HRTF setting. We do not recommend combining the HRTF setting in game with other surround sound virtualization software at the same time since this will result in double processing.
  • Note that other surround sound virtualization software cannot derive surround sound information from the stereo mix.

AGENT

  • Cypher
    • Neural Theft (X) now completes even if Cypher dies after casting.
    • Fixed an issue where you could remain blinded if spectating a flash through Cypher’s Spycam (E) as the round ended.
  • Gekko
    • Dizzy’s (E) enemy detection range is now correctly reduced while inside of Viper’s Pit (X) ability.

PREMIER

  • Fixed an issue where the Attacker team takes priority over the Defender team in the Overtime vote.
  • Fixed a bug where a second timer bar would appear after the “Choose Side” vote had already ended.
  • Fixed a bug where certain scenarios would cause subsequent Overtime Priority votes to occur in the following round.

How To Install CSGO After CS2 Release

Playing CSGO on your PC after the release of CS2 is entirely possible and you can do it in just a few steps. Without further ado, let’s check out how you can install CSGO on your PC right away.

  • Launch Steam.
  • Right click ‘Counter-Strike 2’ from your Steam library.
  • Click on ‘Properties’.
  • Go to ‘Betas’.
  • Change ‘Beta Participation’ from ‘None’ to ‘csgo_demo_viewer’.

Once done, you’ll see that Steam will automatically start downloading files for CSGO on your PC.

Let the download finish, and launch CS2. You should be greeted with the CSGO main menu after you launch the game and you’re free to play your favorite FPS title once again.

However, do note that you’re not able to participate in official matchmaking games from your CSGO client, which means that you won’t be able to queue for Competitive, Casual, or any other official modes. Community servers and custom games work normally.

A former participant of a Knights Arena Valorant tournament raised concerns about an employee, events manager Jasper ‘sfX’ Ko, alleging that he was owed approximately $200 in registration fees. Following these allegations, sfX announced his departure from Knights. The situation escalated rapidly, prompting Knights to launch an official investigation.

Knights Arena’s Response

In a public statement, Knights Arena confirmed the termination of the said employee. The organization revealed that the individual had misled event participants by directing them to a personal payment portal, making them believe they were using an authorized Knights Arena payment method. In reality, the funds were being siphoned away from Knights Arena.

Knights Arena has taken a proactive approach in addressing the issue. They are currently in touch with the Americas Valorant Players Union to document the incident and are reaching out to affected individuals for refunds. Furthermore, they have reported the matter to local authorities, hinting at potential legal actions against the individual involved.

Knights Arena, based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, has been a significant player in the esports arena. They have collaborated with Riot Games for various events and have been organizing weekly and monthly tournaments in Valorant.
