BOOM Esports Dota 2 Roster Disbands

BOOM Esports, a prominent name in the Dota 2 esports scene, has officially announced the disbandment of its current roster. This move marks the end of an era and the beginning of a new chapter for the organization.

The declaration was made live on the podcast “BOOM Talk Vol. 09: Dota 2? MAK LO DISBAND,” bringing attention to the difficulties the crew was having adjusting to the most recent patch. A significant contributing aspect of this choice was the unable to transfer success from practice matches to major competitions.

Gary “Natshuba” Ongko Putera, the founder of BOOM Esports, confirmed that the organization currently has no members signed to its Dota 2 roster, indicating a complete overhaul. This strategic move suggests a fresh start for BOOM Esports, with an eye on building a team that can better adapt to the evolving dynamics of Dota 2.

Farewell to Star Players

The departure of key players marked a poignant moment for the organization. Star carry John “Natsumi-” Vargas was among those who left, with BOOM Esports expressing gratitude for his significant contributions. The exit of other players like Ye “BoBoKa” Zhibiao and Chung “Ws” Wei Shen, who played pivotal roles in the team’s journey, was also acknowledged.

With only one undisclosed player currently signed to the roster, BOOM Esports stands at a crossroads. The Dota 2 community is keenly watching to see how the organization will rebuild its team, especially with the ESL One Kuala Lumpur Open Qualifiers just around the corner.

0

Popular YouTuber Azzyland has brought accusations against the controversial SSSniperwolf, claiming that she aggressively copies her content flow to the point she practically “stole her life”.

SSSniperwolf has to be one of the most controversial content creators around. In the past, there have been several accusations of her stealing content, faking gameplay and just sparking controversies in general and more recently doxxed JacksFilms from which she is yet to recover.

However, fellow YouTuber Azzyland along with Nerd City, who boasts a reliable track record of exposing content creators with dubious methods revealed step by step the uncanny resemblance between her and Azzyland’s content. In a video uploaded by Nerd City in collaboration with Azzyland, we see them breaking down every time SSSniperwolf’s content shows signs of copying and it wasn’t a one-off incident.

“I do have fans who do kind of instigate because they’re firing back at what her fans are doing,”  she said.

In the video, we find the pair pointing out how Azzyland’s content was borrowed by SSSniperwolf at different points throughout her YouTube journey going back to 2018 or even further. She has asked her fans to subject the accused to backlash as she believes that the “truth always comes out”.

0

Popular Korean Twitch streamer may5w was sexually assaulted nearly two months ago during her visit to Hong Kong by a chef at a tram station.

may5w was on her way to her hotel when a stranger pushed her against the wall on the staircase of the MTR tram station and started groping her. She was shocked by the incident and upon a few attempts to resist, she was able to break free upon which another person was able to protect her from the assaulter.

The whole incident was being live streamed and suffice it to say that she had it all on tape at the time of the incident a chef was arrested by authorities under suspicion and two months from now he has been sentenced to three months in prison.

“This was the first time I had experienced such a situation and I was too shocked to even think about shouting,” she said. “…Rumors have emerged, including the absurd claim that I staged a drama to become famous and promote racial discrimination. …it hurt me more than being sexually harassed that day.”

“This experience makes me realize the importance of being cautious when helping others or showing kindness, and it saddens me deeply.”

She explained the incident in her video before shutting down rumours of how she used it as a publicity stunt to gain more attention. She claimed that the man initially came to her seeking help but it quickly turned into a traumatic experience for her. She did not address the sentence that he is served with but her fans were happy to know that justice was served.

Street Fighter 6 Tournament Upended by Just Stop Oil Protesters’ Paint Attack

0

In an unexpected turn of events, environmental activists interrupted the climax of a major Street Fighter 6 tournament, causing a significant pause in the proceedings.

The 2023 Capcom Pro Tour’s third Offline Premier event in Paris was the stage for a dramatic showdown between top Street Fighter 6 competitors. However, the grand finals were brought to an abrupt halt by an act of protest that left the audience and players bewildered.

Protesters Make a Statement

As ‘MenaRD’ and ‘Chris Wong’ were engaged in their high-stakes battle, a group of protesters associated with the Just Stop Oil movement stormed the stage. They smeared an unknown substance across the players’ monitors, a bold statement against the use of oil and gas.

The incident caused immediate confusion, with commentators and the crowd unsure of what had transpired. The quick thinking of commentator ‘FWord’ kept the audience engaged as the situation was addressed.

The event organizers acted swiftly to clean the stage, allowing the tournament to continue after a brief intermission. The fighters had to restart the match, with Chris Wong eventually emerging victorious.

The event’s interruption raises questions about the security measures at esports events, especially since this is not the first instance of such protests affecting gaming tournaments.

The esports community is now reflecting on this incident, considering the implications for future events and the balance between security and the open nature of gaming competitions.

FaZe Clan’s Internal Strife: Executives’ Clashes and Financial Missteps Revealed

0

FaZe Clan, the esports juggernaut, has recently been the subject of intense scrutiny due to reports of internal discord and financial mismanagement leading up to its acquisition by GamesSquare Inc.

It’s been revealed that prior to the acquisition, the atmosphere within FaZe Clan was fraught with tension. High-profile members such as FaZe Banks and FaZe Rain openly criticized the organization, bringing internal issues like inflated esports team salaries to light.

According to insights from a Digiday report, the relationship between FaZe Clan’s talent and upper management was strained, with executives reportedly not shying away from raising their voices at lower-level staff. This created a hostile work environment that was felt across the company.

The report also sheds light on FaZe Clan’s financial misadventures, including exorbitant spending on Los Angeles mansions and costly errors like advancing the date of a video shoot with rapper Lil Yachty for no clear reason, leading to a significant financial loss on a deal with Totino’s.

With the reinstatement of FaZe Banks as CEO under the GamesSquare umbrella, there’s a buzz of anticipation around the organization’s future. The new leadership is rumored to be considering downsizing some of the more lavish expenditures to stabilize the brand.

As GamesSquare takes the helm, the esports community watches with bated breath to see how they will navigate the challenges and reinvent the FaZe Clan brand. The hope is that with more prudent management, FaZe Clan can return to its former glory without the internal chaos that once plagued its ranks.

In an exciting update for hockey enthusiasts and gamers alike, EA Sports’ NHL 24 has introduced a legendary addition to its roster. Bobby Orr, the Hall of Fame defenseman from the Boston Bruins, is now available as a free playable character. This inclusion is a significant nod to hockey’s rich history, as Orr is not only a celebrated Bruins alumnus but also a revered figure in the sport.

Bobby Orr’s debut in NHL 24 marks his first-ever appearance in an EA Sports game, potentially his first in any hockey video game since his career highlight in the ’70s. Known for his time with the Bruins and a brief stint with the Chicago Blackhawks, Orr’s virtual avatar joins the ranks of Wayne Gretzky and Mario Lemieux, sharing a top rating of 97 overall.

Orr’s career milestones are nothing short of extraordinary. Inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1979, he bypassed the traditional three-year waiting period, a testament to his impact on the sport. His journey from NHL rookie of the year in 1966-67 to a two-time Stanley Cup champion and eight-time Norris Trophy recipient is a storied tale of athletic prowess and dedication.

The legacy of Bobby Orr transcends generations, linking to current players like Cale Makar of the Colorado Avalanche, who graces the cover of NHL 24. Makar’s playing style has drawn comparisons to Orr, with even Wayne Gretzky noting the similarities. Despite the honor, Makar humbly acknowledges the vastness of Orr’s achievements, aiming to keep his feet on the ground while embracing the comparison.

Players logging in before January 2, 2024, will have access to exclusive content celebrating Orr’s legacy. This includes the Base Bobby Orr Item in a HUT Pack, Bruins Centennial Uniforms, and a Bobby Orr Master Item in the Gallery of Greats HUT Event. Additionally, a special Bruins Centennial Jersey will be available in the World of Chel.

0

The world of “Genshin Impact” is on the cusp of expansion with the 4.2 update, but not without a brief intermission for maintenance. This guide will navigate you through the downtime schedule and detail the Primogem compensation for players globally.

Genshin Impact 4.2 Update Scheduled Server Downtime Across Time Zones

As “Genshin Impact” gears up for its new chapter, players must brace for a scheduled server downtime set to commence on November 8, 2023, at 06:00 (UTC+8). This necessary pause in the Teyvat adventure will span a minimum of five hours, affecting all gameplay access. Here’s a breakdown of the maintenance window across various regions:

  • For American players, the downtime will occur on November 7, 2023, ranging from 12 pm HST to 6 pm EDT.
  • European adventurers will face the pause from 11 pm WET on November 7 to 6 am EET on November 8.
  • In Asia, the timeline stretches from 3:30 am IST to 12 pm KST on November 8.

Navigating the Downtime

During this maintenance period, it’s crucial for players to wrap up in-game tasks ahead of the server shutdown. This proactive approach ensures that your journey through Teyvat is uninterrupted by the update process.

Primogem Compensation:

Understanding the inconvenience caused, HoYoverse compensates its dedicated player base with Primogems. Depending on the length of the downtime and the extent of bug fixes, players can anticipate a bounty of 300-600 Primogems. This generous gesture not only acknowledges the patience required during updates but also enriches the player experience upon return.

Anticipating the Update Rollout

Post-maintenance, the 4.2 update is expected to go live at 11:00 (UTC+8) on November 8, 2023. With the update, Phase I content, as teased by the developers, will be available, offering numerous opportunities to acquire Primogems and enhance your gaming experience.

In summary, while the maintenance period is a brief halt in the escapades of “Genshin Impact,” it paves the way for a richer, more stable gaming experience. With the added bonus of Primogem compensation, players have something to look forward to as they eagerly await the rollout of the 4.2 update.

0

In the ever-evolving world of “Genshin Impact,” the thrill of adventure is matched only by the excitement of unlocking new rewards. The latest redeem code released alongside the version 4.2 update is a testament to this, offering players a chance to claim 60 Primogems and additional in-game items.

New Genshin Impact 4.2 redeem code and rewards

The fresh code, EA8RWDMBVRTR, is a global passkey that can be redeemed across Asia, America, Europe, and TW/HK/MO servers. It’s a small but significant gift from the developers, a nod to the community that keeps the game thriving. However, players are encouraged to act swiftly as the code’s validity is tied to the version 4.2 lifecycle, with a recommended claim-by date of December 20, 2023.

How To Redeem Genshin Impact Redeem Code

Claiming the code is a straightforward process. Players can enter the code directly in the game under Menu > Settings > Account > Redeem now, or they can visit the official HoYoverse redemption page. Upon successful entry, a confirmation mail arrives in the in-game mailbox, where the ‘Claim’ button releases the rewards into the player’s inventory.

Beyond the latest code, Genshin Impact offers additional means to earn free Primogems in November 2023. Codes like 6T8NWE3HD7PD and GENSHINGIFT are also available, and players can generate unique codes at the HoyoFEST 2023 event, though these typically offer Mora instead of Primogems.

While some codes like GENSHINGIFT have an indefinite lifespan, others may expire after a certain usage limit is reached. It’s always wise to redeem promptly to ensure no opportunity for rewards is missed.

Evil Geniuses to Withdraw CS2 Teams and Offload LCS Slot Amidst Restructuring

0

Evil Geniuses, a stalwart in the esports arena, is reportedly making significant changes to its competitive lineup, including the release of its Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) teams and the potential sale of its LCS franchise slot.

The esports community is abuzz with reports that Evil Geniuses is set to streamline its operations. This strategic pivot comes after a series of layoffs that saw the organization operate with minimal staff. The changes also follow the disbandment of its DOTA 2 team post their participation in The International 2023.

Evil Geniuses’ recent history has been marred by controversies, notably the alleged mistreatment of a star League of Legends player and issues within the Valorant and Rocket League communities. These incidents have cast a shadow over the organization’s reputation and may have influenced the latest operational decisions.

According to reports, Evil Geniuses is planning to discontinue its men’s CS2 team after December and may release its women’s teams even sooner. The organization currently supports three CS2 rosters: the main men’s team, the academy team EG Black, and the women’s team EG Gold. Additionally, EG’s women’s Valorant team is scheduled to compete in the Game Changers Championship in November.

Evil Geniuses’ venture into Counter-Strike saw a peak with the acquisition of the NRG Esports roster in 2019 and a notable victory at ESL One New York 2019. However, the organization downsized from its four-team Counter-Strike experiment in April, indicating a shift in focus and resources.

The organization is also deep into negotiations to sell its LCS slot, with Enthusiast Gaming, the owner of Luminosity Gaming and operator of the Vancouver Titans in the Overwatch League, emerging as a potential buyer.

As Evil Geniuses reevaluates its position in the competitive landscape, the esports community is keenly observing these developments. The outcomes of these strategic changes will likely have a lasting impact on the organization’s future endeavors and its standing within the esports industry.
