How to Watch and Replay Faceit Matches in CS2?

To rewatch a replay of a match, head to the matchroom of the game you’re interested in.

Just remember to make sure the match took place within the last 30 days.  

How to Watch and Replay Faceit Matches in CS2?

  • Open Faceit.
  • Click on ‘Watch Demo’ in the center of the match page to download the demo file.  
  • Since FACEit demos are compressed, you’ll need software like WinRAR or 7Zip to extract the file. 
  • Locate the folder where you saved the demo, right-click on it, and choose ‘Open with decompression software of choice).  
  • Then select the file and click ‘Extract to a specified folder.’ Choose the folder where CS2 is installed, for example – C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Counter-Strike Global Offensive\game\csgo.

Please remember: This is NOT the usual directory for saving CS:GO demos. Make sure to select the ‘game’ folder before choosing ‘csgo’ to ensure it’s in the right place.

FACEIT Demo Replay CS2

At this point, we recommend renaming the demo to something more unique and easily findable. Navigate to the folder where you saved the demo, right-click on the file, and enter your preferred name.  

Start your version of CS2 and open the console using your chosen keybinding. If you haven’t set a keybinding yet, go to your controls and assign one.  

In the console, type ‘playdemo nameofdemo‘ and press enter. This should start the demo for you within CS2!

Teixeira, 22, enlisted in the military in 2019 and served with the 102nd Intelligence Wing’s cyber defense operations. However, in 2022, he began accessing sensitive military documents far beyond his authorized clearance level. The leaked materials, initially shared within a private Minecraft Discord server, reportedly contained critical information, including details on U.S. involvement in the Ukraine-Russia conflict, China’s supersonic spy drone advancements, and ammunition deals with South Korea.

Discord, the platform where the leaks originated, played a significant role in assisting authorities during the investigation. According to court documents, Teixeira’s motive was driven by a desire to impress his online peers. Prosecutors described his actions as causing “immeasurable damage” to U.S. national security, adding that the betrayal had “exceptionally grave” repercussions.

The leaked files eventually found their way to other platforms like 4chan, where they were manipulated to misrepresent Ukrainian casualties. Once the breach gained attention, Teixeira attempted to cover his tracks, destroying computers and hard drives. Despite these efforts, investigators recovered sufficient evidence to secure a conviction.

FBI Director Christopher Wray underscored the gravity of Teixeira’s misconduct during the sentencing announcement on November 12, 2024. “This sentencing serves as a stark warning to those entrusted with safeguarding national defense information,” Wray stated. “Betray that trust, and you will be held accountable.”

This high-profile case underscores the risks associated with the unauthorized dissemination of sensitive information, especially in a digital landscape where seemingly innocuous platforms can become avenues for serious security breaches.
