5-Star characters and weapons are among the most powerful in Genshin Impact. This guide is designed to help players find out how to obtain these incredible 5-star heroes. Genshin Impact has quickly become one of the most popular games, making a surprising debut. While it did have a closed beta that appealed mainly to a niche audience of gacha fans, the public release saw players from all over the world investing countless hours and money to get their favorite characters. Although there is a vast universe to explore beyond just acquiring 5-star characters, these remain the most sought-after in the game.  

Similar to other Gacha games, Genshin Impact provides players with in-game currency, resources, and various items to unlock new characters. However, obtaining five-star drops can be quite challenging. For example, there is only a 0.6% chance of getting a five-star drop with each wish made on the Ballad in Goblets. Additionally, players might end up with three-star weapons or occasionally a four-star character instead. This is because three-star rewards have a 94.3% drop rate, while four-star rewards have a 5.1% chance.  

Players start their adventure with just one character—their own customized avatar—tasked with exploring the world to rescue their kidnapped twin. As they progress through the story, they will unlock new characters, each with unique Elemental abilities that can be used in battles and to solve various puzzles. Here’s How to Get 5-Star Weapons & Characters in Genshin Impact

The best way to get 5-Star characters is by using Acquaint or Intertwined Fates on with banners. Each banner has its own statistics that show a player’s chances of getting a specific 5-star character. The real challenge is the low odds of pulling a 5-Star character, as most have a probability of less than 1% per wish. Players can earn Acquaint and Intertwined Fates through two main methods.  

• Method 1:  Complete story missions and increase your Adventure Rank. Every time players level up, they receive additional items that can be used for pulls.  

• Method 2: Make financial investments. This is the primary method and is likely the ONLY way players will successfully pull a 5-star hero.  

While some players may try to play for free, the odds are not in their favor, as paying players have a much better chance of rolling a 5-star hero. It’s very unlikely that free-to-play players will get a 5-star hero unless they are extremely lucky. From my own experience, it took about 10 pulls (around $100 USD) to finally pull for Jean, one of the 5-star heroes. The system has been adjusted to make it easier for free players to seek 5-star heroes, but nothing beats the excitement of seeing that orange light during a wish!
