Twitch suffers a mega outage with NYTimes, CNN

Many popular websites serving millions of users every hour are down in some parts of the world due to an ongoing outage. While the reason for the internet outage remains unclear, it’s likely an issue with CDN company Fastly.

By the looks of the reports online, people in UK and regions close to the UK are experiencing the error 503 messages when they try to log in or view the affected sites.

Previously it was suspected that a targeted attack was launched on Amazon and its subsidiaries including Twitch, but soon after reports of users getting error 503 messages across other sites such as Reddit, eBay, Spotify, etc also started coming in. 

Independent website Down Detector initially received thousands of reports that Twitch wasn’t working.

The outage tracker monitors social mentions around certain topics to detect when services go down across the world. The Down Detector outage map shows that the Twitch issues are affecting users in the UK and Europe.

Twitch was quick to acknowledge the issue and tweeted out saying: 

“We are aware that users may be experiencing errors accessing Twitch at this time. Our team is currently investigating to fix this issue.”

The websites which suffered the outages are high traffic with a cumulative reach of over 4 billion a month.

Prince of Persia: Sands of Time remake will not be shown during this year’s Ubisoft Forward

The Prince of Persia series has been neglected for Ubisoft’s biggest moneymakers; Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, and Rainbow Six, which has led to the franchise being stagnant for far too long, and the last game in the mainline series, The Forgotten Sands, released in 2010, which was over a decade ago.

Last year’s Ubisoft Forward gave us the first look at Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Remake, which opened to mostly negative reception from fans of the series and newcomers alike due to its disappointing graphics, even for a remake. This backlash led to the game being delayed to March 18 2021 from its original January 21 2021 release date, followed by an indefinite delay a month before its supposed release. 

Unfortunately for those of you who were looking forward to an update on the Remake during this year’s Ubisoft Forward, the official Prince of Persia Twitter posted an update regarding their current situation, stating that they “are not yet ready to share any additional information just yet” and as a result, the game will not be shown off during Ubisoft Forward.

The original Prince of Persia: Sands of Time was the first game in a reimagined trilogy of the series and the game introduced the infamous Sands of Time, an essence that allowed its wielder to manipulate time itself. The game was released for PS2, Nintendo GameCube, Xbox, Gameboy Advance, and PC and was a massive hit.

Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Remake is being developed for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Free Fire OB28 Maintenance: When will Free Fire Open Today?

As we covered in our previous article, Garena Free Free has announced the next in-game update. Free Fire OB28 will the next update after two months. The new update is scheduled to release tomorrow, 8th June 2021. A completely new rank ‘Grandmaster’ is introduced in Clash Squad mode. Few weapons balances are also done within the game. A new character will be added to the game. Besides this, three major characters have been balanced. To know the complete details of the OB28 patch notes, read our article.

To role out the new update in the game. Developers close the game servers for a limited time. Garena Free Fire announced on its official social media pages about the scheduled maintenance time. Read the complete article to know the exact time at which you will not be able to play the game.

The official post stated, ” Attention survivors! We will be having our game maintenance tomorrow.?⚙ You know what that means – new features are coming! Please be noted that the game will close from 9:30 am-6:00 pm (IST) – during this time, you will not be able to enter the game. ❌ However, you will be able to play normally once you update after the game opens!Thank you for your patience and understanding. ?#FreeFire#IndiaKaBattleRoyale#Booyah 

As we all know, such big updates take a longer time to be implemented in the game. So, it will be an 8 hours 30 mins update tomorrow. The schedule for the maintenance is as follows:

  • Start time: June 8th, 2021, at 9:30 AM IST (GMT +5:30)
  • End time: June 8th, 2021, at 6:00 PM IST (GMT +5:30)

According to the announcement, players would not be able to enter the game for the specified time as mentioned above. However, as soon as the maintenance goes down, you need to update the game. Once updated, you can enjoy the game with new features.

Amid a string of technical issues, Riot Games has eventually decided to give Duality Player Card to every player. A week ago, during the Valorant Championship Tour: Masters 2 – Reykjavik finale between Sentinels and Fnatic, the developers released the Duality cinematic clip which dived deeper into the Valorant lore and the backstory of the game.

Earlier the users only had 48 hours to redeem the code on the game’s website and secure the Duality Player Card. But, due to unprecedented traffic, the website crashed several times and the players faced technical issues to redeem the coupon in a short span of time.

The Duality Player Card sheds light on the Valorant lore and several questions after witnessing the trailer. To compensate for the technical glitches, Riot extended the redemption period, though users yet again faced problems. 

Later through a tweet, Riot Games announced that they have finally concluded that the Duality Player Card will be added to everyone’s inventory whether they have redeemed the code or otherwise. 

Riot Games took a rational decision to not let even a few miss out on the card due to technical issues. You will soon see the card in your inventory.

Playtonia, Rove Hotels and Razer collaborate to launch hotel gaming rooms for gamers in UAE

Setting a precedent, hotel gaming rooms are coming to the United Arab Emirates. Rove Hotels in partnership with Playtonia, Razer and Dubai Sports Council are launching the MENA’s first ever hotel gaming rooms – Rove’s Gamer Caves. Starting June 15, Rove Downtown and Rove At The Park will begin accepting reservations for gaming rooms throughout the summer.

The gaming setups would primarily consist of equipment provided by Razer, a leader in gaming equipment while Playtonia would mobilize the resources on site. Playtonia is a popular tournament organizer promoting gaming and esports throughout Asia. The hotels would also provide game-themed dishes for dining inside the gaming room itself.

“As a hotel brand that embraces popular culture, celebrates sub-cultures and always looks to create experiences for people to live their passions, Rove Hotels is extremely proud to design and launch the region’s first-ever hotel gaming rooms with the outstanding support of Dubai Sports Council, Playtonia and Razer,” said Head Gamer of Rove Hotels, Bianca Litonjua.

He further affirmed, “We are confident that Rove’s Gamer Caves will provide a welcome boost for the growing eSports community in MENA, and we can’t wait to welcome gamers from home and abroad to enjoy this first-of-its-kind gaming experience in the heart of Dubai.” 

Amid the pandemic, the hospitality industry has suffered the most. The hotel chain doesn’t shy away from trying out new ideas, entering an uncharted territory and targeting a distinct customer base.

General Manager of Playtonia UAE, Nabil Hasan said, “We are delighted to partner with Rove Hotels, with the support of Dubai Sports Council and Razer, for the launch of the region’s first-ever hotel gaming rooms. Mr. Hasan further added, “Consequently, we see the opening of Rove’s Gamer Caves as massively positive signs of the major progress being made in gaming and esports – an industry that continues to go from strength to strength locally, regionally and globally.” 

He seems quite excited about the upcoming endeavor. Playtonia will be providing quite a lot of games including Dota 2, GTA 5, Red Dead Redemption 2 and so on. Rainbow Six Quarantine gets renamed to Rainbow Six Extraction

Announced during E3 2019 as Rainbow Six: Quarantine, this co-op-based shooter went through multiple delays despite initially eyeing 2020 as its launch year. Rainbow Six: Quarantine was titled “Parasite” internally while it was being playtested. 

Today, Ubisoft Montréal revealed the PvE shooter’s final title – Rainbow Six: Extraction in a two-minute title reveal trailer, and given the recent pandemic, changing the name felt appropriate for the devs.

Based on Rainbow Six: Siege’s limited-time Outbreak event, Rainbow Six: Extraction is a tactical co-op game where a squad of upto three players will have to team up to fight alien parasites that have taken over their human hosts.

Adin Ross’s mod banned following accusations of harassing QTCinderella

Adin Ross’s ongoing internet feud has taken an unexpected turn with his mod getting banned from Twitch following accusations of harassing QTCinderella.

Adin Ross’s beef with the likes of Ludwig and Sodapoppin is far from a conclusion despite several attempts made to cool things off. It did not take long for Ludwig’s partner QTCinderella to get involved and eventually get caught in the fallout. Ross’s fans have reportedly mass-reported Cinderella’s Instagram profile which ended up getting banned thus adding fuel to the fire.

The drama escalated further when one of Adin Ross’s mods was banned from Twitch for targeting a streamer, which in this case was none other than QTCinderella.

During Ross’s latest broadcast, one of his mods who goes by the handle “OGRoyce” spammed “she fat as HELL” in the chat with thousands of concurrent viewers to see. QTCinderella wasn’t addressed specifically but it did not take a genius to find the connection. Twitch was prompt in this matter and handed him a ban as soon as the word got out.

Neither Adin Ross, QTCinderella, or any of the streamers involved in the beef has spoken out as of now but it is guaranteed to turn into the talking point. The drama is far from a plausible conclusion and it may be safe to assume that it will take several turns before we see an end.

According to a tweet from popular Valorant data miner Mike, several in-game weapons will reportedly go through a price change in the upcoming patch.

By the looks of things, the price changes are greatly aimed at balancing the game and needless to the economy will go through a subtle overhaul. The change addresses quite a few demands of the community and will likely alter the use case of certain weapons notably the Operator and The Judge.

The Operator is the weapon to go for all snipers and the potency of the weapon justifies its high price point. The gun takes a heavy toll on the economy of any side that chooses to use it and the less rewarding kill rewards will least likely make up for what the weapon brings to the table in terms of economy.

The Judge on the contrary has a different story, the gun was annoyingly effective especially in close range which makes it an eco-friendly weapon for players choosing to operate in certain positions. The increase in its price will make it a less friendly weapon in force buy/eco rounds thereby somewhat balancing the overpowered nature.

These changes are yet to be officially acknowledged by Riot and won’t see the surface unless the patch makes it to the game.

With Fortnite Chapter 2, Season 7 right on the edge, a collaboration with popular sitcom Rick and Morty has been teased by the developer, as they are expected to make their way to the game in the upcoming season.

In the teaser, one of Rick’s inventions can be seen that he devised in one of the episodes of the sitcom.
