How to Unlock CX-9 SMG in COD Warzone & Modern Warfare?

0

After a long period of waiting from Call of Duty players worldwide, the highly anticipated CX-9 SMG has finally been added to COD Warzone and Modern Warfare.

Previously, it was available for a short while in the battle royale before eventually being removed from the games without any prior confirmation.

On August 3rd, the CX-9 SMG made its reappearance in Call of Duty: Warzone and Modern Warfare alongside the Soap Operator.

Let’s take a look at what you can do to unlock the CX-9 SMG in Call of Duty.

How to unlock CX-9 in COD?

Players can unlock the CX-9 SMG in two simple ways – one is free but will require a lot of time while the other is instantaneous but will cost you some Call of Duty points.

The first option requires you to complete an in-game challenge that’ll put your SMG skills to the test. Here’s what you need to do to unlock the CX-9:

  • Get 2 Longshot Kills while using an SMG in 5 different matches

Needless to say, this can be quite time-consuming depending on your skills with the SMG. However, there’s also an easier alternative to get the CX-9.

The second method requires players to get the Serac blueprint for the CX-9. This can be done by purchasing the Soap Operator bundle in the store that’ll cost you 2,400 COD points.

Choose the method that fits you best, and get started on your way to obtain the CX-9 SMG in COD Warzone and Modern Warfare.

How technology has elevated the stature of Esports

Technological advancements have launched esports into previously unimaginable dimensions of quality and performance. This format of gaming is highly reliant on top tech initiatives and solutions.

Gaming, as we know it today, uses top-performing graphics processing units (GPUs), accurate peripherals, and unwavering internet connections. This article looks at the evolution of esports and the tech that defines it.

What is esports?

Simply put, esports are organized video gaming events in which gamers compete. These competitions don’t include games that you might find at online casinos, but instead feature different teams or leagues pitting their skills against each other in games such as Call of Duty, Counter-Strike and Fortnite.

Esports competitions are broadcast on live television or streamed via channels such as Twitch. This means that fans all over the world can watch gamers compete in real-time.

These live broadcasts, which include televised broadcasts on channels such as ESPN and TBS, and the internet streaming services are testament to just how popular esports are. The selection of esports teams follows the same principles as normal sports selections, and the selected gamers enjoy similar spotlights and benefits.

The origins of esports

Many who view televised esports events think that video gaming competitions appeared on the scene overnight. This sport’s origins do in fact predate the existence of the internet.

Stanford University hosted the first recorded video game competition in 1972. Players competed in a space combat video game called Spacewar. This game was developed a decade earlier in 1962. Bruce Baumgart won this competition and received a year’s subscription to Rolling Stone magazine.

Atari held a video gaming championship based on its popular Space Invaders game in 1980. More than 10,000 players entered this competition, making the greater public awareness of the competitiveness innate to gaming. This event is widely regarded as the official launch of video gaming competitions.

In 1981, there was another important milestone for video gaming. Twin Galaxies, a company established by Walter Day, started keeping a record of high scores and other significant gaming achievements. The Guinness Book of World Records recognized Twin Galaxies, and soon gamers raced to make their top-scoring marks.

This craze led to the first televised video gaming events. Starcade in the US and First Class in the UK showcased players in battles to achieve the highest scores. Gamer Billy Mitchell became a legend for his world records in games such as Pac-Man and Donkey Kong.

Home-based gaming consoles entered the scene during the late 1980s. These consoles, such as the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES), PlayStation and Xbox, are computerized systems aiming to deliver quality graphics and gameplay. Today, you can connect your consoles to the internet to compete online or download and upgrade your existing games.

The arrival of the internet and its impact on gaming

The 1980s may have shone the first spotlight on esports, but nothing equalled the explosive effect of the internet on video gaming. This innovative tech turned this already profitable niche into a multi-billion-dollar industry making its mark on the global economic markets.

During the early 1990s, people established local area networks (LANs) and connected computers to enjoy socialized playing. This era instituted single-player games with a narrative basis, which remained popular throughout the years.

The internet revolutionized gaming by enabling players to interact, socialize and compete in team-driven multiplayer games. It established virtual alternate worlds in which gamers can immerse themselves. Soon, players started to distinguish themselves according to varying skills levels and the modern-day notion of esports took hold.

The turn of the millennium saw unprecedented growth in online gaming, with titles such as World of Warcraftattracting millions of players worldwide. Gaming subcultures evolved and gave rise to player forums based on these online multiplayer role-playing games.

Ever-growing online gaming trends and the inter-competitiveness between players placed greater demands on internet functionality and performance. Unstable connections that lagged often meant the difference between a win and a loss. Players voiced their desires for fast, stable and uninterrupted connectivity. Today, the internet allows you to both watch and play your favourite esports.

The effect of latency

Latency is the time it takes for data to travel from one point to another and then return to its original (or source) point. A system, such as a desktop computer or gaming console, lags when this time interval is lengthy or stretched out.

Delayed latency is one of the reasons why serious gamers shy away from unpredictable Wi-Fi connections and prefer older internet technologies such as Ethernet cables. These gamers refer to the latency between their devices and the game servers as a ping. Delayed pings prevent real-time interactions with the virtual gaming world.

Lag causes a phenomenon known as rubber banding in the gaming world. A character is perceived as ‘bouncing’ around in the virtual world and not experiencing real-time gameplay. Big money is invested in esports, and tardy pings not only result in-game losses but also have financial consequences.

Wired internet connections addressed these problems. However, the ‘older’ technologies could not keep step with the development of more complex and intricate games. The demand for faster and faster connections kept on growing.

Contemporary gaming and fibre internet

The arrival of fibre internet at the turn of the millennium nearly eliminated all latency issues and provided stable and fast connections. Fibre internet also established streamlined cloud services, and most modern-day video games are now purchased as digital versions directly from the cloud. This means that few players resort to discs for their consoles.

Esports has a firm hand in the drive for excellent internet performance. This ever-growing craze draws more and more players and has an extensive fan base worldwide. Several German football clubs raised the bar and formed esports teams. Many other clubs around the world followed suit. Reliable tech is a must in this highly competitive industry.

Recently, 5G – fifth-generation wireless – introduced the world to unprecedented internet speeds and overall performance. This latest innovation can only take esports to new heights and give fans so much more to look forward to.

Junior loaned out to Bad News Bears for ESL Pro League Season 14

Paytyn “junior” Johnson has been loaned out to Bad News Bears for the upcoming ESL Pro League Season 14, Brazilian side FURIA confirmed it today on Twitter. As reported earlier by HLTV.org, junior will step in for Peter “ptr” Gurney who retired from the game on Tuesday and will resume his sniper duties on the team.

Earlier in June, Junior stepped down from FURIA’s active roster citing communication and burnout issues during his time with the team. Head coach Nicholas ‘guerri’ Nogueira further added that junior would travel back home in order to reset his mental form and would be placed on the bench until the 20-year-old North American feels 100% to compete again with the Brazilian squad.

FURIA has reportedly agreed to loan out junior on a short-term basis, which would probably be valid just for the ESL Pro League Season 14 tournament as there have been no further updates regarding the current loan contract between Bad News Bears and FURIA.

Bad News Bears will kick off their debut with junior at the upcoming ESL Pro League Season 14, scheduled to start from August 16, and have been placed in the tournament’s Group A where they will lock horns with Heroic, Vitality, and Astralis. The matchups of the same are yet to be revealed by the event organizer.

  • Jonathan “Jonji” Carey
  • Michael “Swisher” Schmid

  • Alan “Shakezullah” Hardeman

On August 4th, CSGO players across the Globe reported outages of the game servers. It’s still unclear what caused the outage, but it could be due to a number of reasons.

The first and common cause of server outages is a new update. When a new update is shipped to the game, the servers can go down for a short while. However, in case of an update, the servers can be up quite quickly.

Another reason behind server outages may be a technical fault in Valve’s servers. This is very unlikely to happen but has happened on more than one occasion in the past.

In case you’re finding yourself unable to launch CSGO or join a game, you can check for yourself if CSGO servers are down.

CSGO Server Status

There are a number of websites to check server statuses of popular games like CSGO or DOTA 2, and even the server status of Steam itself. How to fix Apex Legends Season 10 Download Stuck Error?

0

The much anticipated Apex Legends Season 10 is finally here and everyone is in a hurry to get their hands on it but to their misfortune, an error during the download is keeping them away from it.

Several players have reported across social media that their download is stuck at around 30-40% rendering the game completely unplayable. Despite trying several methods nothing concrete can be coined as a solution was the error is speculated to be caused by overloaded servers following a massive influx in active downloads.

The issue is not new, rather it is quite common when servers get overloaded. Reinstalling and restarting will go in vain as you wouldn’t get any further thereby the only working solution so far is to wait it out.

Patience is the key, once the load on the server is reduced, it will make way for others to continue with the download. People have reported the download to continue after waiting out an hour which is the only working solution out of it.

The hype around new Apex Legends Seasons is always crazy so something like shouldn’t baffle the players but once more and more people complete their downloads, the situation is presumed to get back to normal.

PTR quits CSGO

Peter “ptr” Gurney on Twitter has announced his retirement from CSGO and will exit from Bad News Bears, whom he first started playing for in 2019.

Just weeks after the conclusion of IEM Cologne 2021, ptr has decided to hang up his mouse and leave behind a seven-year illustrious career in CSGO. Moving forward the North American will majorly focus on pursuing Poker, full time.

Before joining Bad News Bears (BnB), ptr represented a plethora of top-tier teams including compLexity, NRG Esports, and Counter Logic Gaming. During his time with the latter, the 31-year-old North American made it to his first-ever CSGO Major at the ESL One: Katowice in 2015 where CLG were unable to get past their group but that helped ptr rise to prominence as a primary AWPer for every team he has played till now. A brief tenure with NRG saw Peter compete at the ESL Pro League Season 3 in North America and the finals of Season 4 until he signed up for Test Takers, later known as the Bad News Bears, an orgless team fended off by several players.

At BnB, ptr served as the team’s sniper alongside the newly joined in-game leader Alan “Shakezullah” Hardeman and went on to steer the team to IEM Cologne 2021’s play-in. Although they lost to Mousesports and LDLC, under Peter, Bad News Bears have proven to the community a significant updraft in the team’s synergy and overall impact on the scene.

With ptr’s departure, they are now:

  • Jonathan “Jonji” Carey
  • Michael “Swisher” Schmid
  • Gabe “Spongey” Greiner
  • Alan “Shakezullah” Hardeman
  • Nathan “madcow” Retterath (Head Coach)

VCC Pakistan and Afghanistan Qualifiers 2: All 4 teams qualified for the Semi-Final

0

With over 128 teams registering for the VCC Pakistan and Afghanistan Qualifier 2, it has come down to 4 teams after a long string of matches, with only one slot left for the main event.

Qualifier 1 saw Salt Esports book their tickets to the main event leaving other big names from the region behind. The only remaining slot will be reserved for the winner of the 2nd Qualifiers and the runners-up will be offered a wildcard match for a shot at qualifying.

Here are the four teams who made it to the Semi-Final of VCC Pakistan and Afghanistan Qualifiers 2:

Team Exploit

Given they were touted as the favorites going into the first qualifiers, their loss at the hands of Salt Esports was unforeseen but not surprising by any means. The second qualifiers saw a jump in their form and yet again they are the favorites to come through. Following an effortless win against Gladiator in the quarter-finals, they became one of the four teams fighting in the semis.

Team Perfectionsits:

Team Perfectionists breezed through Team Aquiver in the quarter-finals. Even though the first map was a bit closer than the second, a 13-7 and a 13-10 scoreline saw them book their place in the Semi-Finals against Team Exploit in the Semi-Finals of the Valorant Conquerors Championship Pakistan & Afghanistan Qualifiers 2.

Team Arrow:

Team Arrow managed the runner-up spot in the Valorant Conquerors Championship Pakistan & Afghanistan Qualifiers 1. The unfortunate events that unfolded in their finals of Qualifier 1 will make their desire to win the second one even more. The quarter-finals saw them beat Team Soviet by a 2-0 scoreline with a 13-8 and 13-6 on Haven and Split respectively.

MAXD Esports:

MAXD Esports was forced out from the VCC Pakistan and Afganisthan Qualifier 1, following a forfeit but it didn’t take them a long time to pick up where they left after managing a semi-final spot in the Qualifier 2. They eased past Clarity with a 13-0 scoreline across Haven and Bind.

All the semi-final matches will be live-streamed on the Nodwin Gaming’s YouTube channel.
