Marvel Rivals Season Length Reduced to Two Months: Insights From Director

GuangGuang – who is otherwise well known in the community as the creative director of Marvel Rivals has now revealed a significant paradigm shift in the structures of the seasons – beginning with the current season which is 3rd of the series with a new two-month season model, where changing this would help with easier introduction of newer elements within the game and will also keep the players engaged continuously. Moreover, this announcement was made during Dev Vision Vol. 05, where GuangGuang discussed the reasons behind this decision and what lies ahead.

A shift in season duration

One of the most notable updates coming to Marvel Rivals is the reduction of each season’s length, where instead of the previous long seasons, there will be a new two-month cycle that will maintain the game’s space and ensure players are always hooked to the latest updates within the game.

During the presentation, he also went on to say that the length of each season was carefully considered to build a sense of engagement and urgency, where with shorter seasons, the players will be more hooked, thereby increasing the amount of their anticipation towards the next update. This will not only provide more content cycles but also improve update timelines for the development teams for the game.

Development hurdles and possibilities

Like we said towards the end of the previous section, the two-week framework would not only help the gaming community, but also the development teams at NetEase Games, who can now be tasked with regular update cycles within tighter deadlines, which was something not that easy just a short while ago. A slew of new features, balancing game elements, and enhancing the overall player experience.

This, however, also came with his confidence that the development team could tackle this situation only because of how the team has been built, due to their proven history of delivering high-quality content for live games, and also how the team has been well-positioned to keep pace with their accelerated milestones for updates. GuangGuang also mentioned that internal discussions and testing have validated how the new direction could merge with the management’s overarching vision for the game.

Here’s what to expect beyond Season 2

Marvels Rivals Season 2 has also been live for a long time, up until April 11, 2025. Throughout this season, however, players can also look to newer and faster updates thanks to the now announced update cycle. Additionally, Season 2.5 is also expected to announce Ultron as a playable character, expanding the game’s content.

The shift to a new two-month format will be launched with season 3, and Marvel Rivals is now well-equipped to be at the forefront of IP games, meaning the future only becomes more exciting.

These cosmetics, however, can be acquired through various means, meaning that all premium battle pass rewards and participation in limited-time event challenges or gameplay modes, direct purchases in the in-game shop, and Twitch drops. Namor is one of the lucky first operators who has gotten the ability to get in twitch drops, who is a duelist with a collection of items available in season 3’s Will of Galacta drops.

And just in case you’re curious about getting the will of Galacta drops. If you’re curious about how to get this drop within a Twitch stream, we’ve got you covered!

  • Now choose Twitch and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the linking procedure.

Subsequently, players need to tune into streamers playing Marvel Rivals with drops enabled – often indicated by a [DROPS] tag in the stream title, and watch for a specific number of hours. Each reward can be redeemed from the Drops section of your Twitch profile, which will send an in-game mail to your Marvel Rivals account containing the drops for you to incorporate into your hero gallery/profile collection.

Marvel Rivals Color Costumes: How to Get & Customize Your Heroes

Marvel Rivals’ tailored colored costumes are an exciting new addition to the game. This feature, as we believe, was aimed towards enthusiast groups who love the latest updates to cosmetics for their beloved heroes within this hero shooter experience.

A recent post on X pointed out that this feature would be specifically planned out with some constraints and that there will be a limited set of customization options. Setting the bar low, maybe?

But, what are Marvel Rivals’ color costumes?

The Marvel Rivals color costumes will unlock the freshest avenues to craft highly unique looks for your beloved characters within the game. But do remember that due to this being a brand new feature, the developers have confined it to only select costumes during the initial weeks. But we expect that once the final rollout, the feature should be accessible for pretty much all the skins within the game.

There is one caveat, though, which is that the color customization will not be applicable to existing skins, which will require some further customization.

Here’s how to acquire Marvel Rivals Tailored color costumes

Players can now easily jump into the game to experience the brand new update by navigating to the store, where they have to make a purchase.

Also, based on an official post on X (formerly Twitter), each customizable skin will be priced at a total of 600 unstable molecules, meaning that fans should be able to swap their current lattice on their account for the new “in-game currency” – unstable molecules at a 1:1 ratio. Therefore, you will have to make sure that you have enough premium currency in the current build of the game before you head to the store.

After acquiring your chosen customizable skin, there are ways to effortlessly customize your color costumes through the update’s brand-new interface. The in-game shop, where a limited showcase of cosmetics exists, keeps progressively expanding to a wider section of characters.

This and more updates from the developers of the game have confirmed additional methods to obtain the new in-game currency “Unstable molecules,” which will be introduced following the upcoming Season 3. This should probably incorporate this new currency for something more than just special challenges, but as a medium of purchasing in-app content as well.

The latest update for tailored color costumes in Marvel Rivals lets players have multiple unique skins that impact visuals within the game. For starters, color swapping will influence the visuals of your characters within the game and will also manifest those costumes during the initial introduction and match MVP visuals, ensuring everyone who doesn’t own a unique costume knows it.

Ubisoft Is Develpoing a Battle Royal Game Inspired From Apex Legends

0

According to reports, Ubisoft is developing a battle royale game similar to Apex Legends from Respawn Entertainment.

As Battle Royale games rise in popularity, Ubisoft wants a piece of the pie. While the likes of PUBG and Fortnite have regional player bases across the globe, Apex has a cult following admired by players from all over the world.

According to an April 16 article by Tom Henderson, Ubisoft is developing a new battle royale game that is “heavily inspired” by Apex and is presently being developed under the code name “Scout.”

As the report states, this game will be a business endeavour to capitalise on the players leaving Apex Legends due to the plethora of issues surrounding the game. As Apex continues to lose players in other games, Ubisoft looks at it as an opportunity to bring them to their new game.

While nothing about the game has been revealed at the time of writing. Ubisoft will likely drop a teaser in the coming days, which will be the first official reveal from the developers. Only time can tell if it will be as popular as Apex Legends, but hopes are high.

How To Play League of Legends Brawl?

Getting tired of the never-ending competitive grind in League of Legends? Don’t worry, Riot Games is once again adding a new casual game mode to LoL that players can tune into to take a break from ranked.

Set to kick off on May 14th, Brawl is set to be a fast-paced game mode for players to master champion mechanics without having to worry about the various other complexities of the game.

In this article, we’ll take a look at everything you need to know about the League of Legends Brawl mode ahead of its official release.

League of Legends Brawl Mode Explained

League of Legends Brawl

Brawl in LoL is set to be a Team Deathmatch-style PvP game mode where players can try out new heroes, take their mechanical skills to the next level, or simply have fun with friends.

Here’s how the game mode works:

Each team in the Brawl Mode starts with 250 health, and the first team to reduce their opponent’s health to zero is declared the winner. You can deal damage to your opposing team with Enemy Takedowns, Minion Takedowns, and sending your Minions through your enemy’s portals.

Each Champion kill deals 5 damage to the enemy team, while Minion kills are worth 1 damage each. Sending your Minions through the enemy portal deals 1 damage per minion.

Teams can also choose to farm jungle camps that are located on either side of the lane. These camps provide powerful buffs to give you the upper edge in combat.

That’s everything we know so far about the LoL Brawl game mode at the time of writing. Further information regarding this game mode will likely be revealed once we near the launch date of Brawl.
