Format

Group Stage (15-16 July 2026)

The tournament begins with the Group Stage, where all 24 teams are divided into two groups of 12 teams each. Each group will play 12 matches over two days. At the end of the FFWC 2026 Group Stage, the top four teams from each group will qualify directly for the Grand Finals. Teams finishing between 5th and 10th place in their groups will move to the Survival Stage for another chance to qualify. The bottom two teams from each group will be eliminated from the tournament.

Survival Stage (17 July 2026)

The Survival Stage will feature 12 teams that finished between 5th and 10th in the Group Stage. These teams will compete in 10 matches, and only the top four teams in the overall standings will qualify for the Grand Finals. The remaining eight teams will be eliminated.

Grand Finals (18 July 2026)

The Grand Finals will feature 12 teams—the eight teams that qualified directly from the FFWC 2026 Group Stage and the four teams that advanced from the Survival Stage. The final will be played using the Champion Rush format, where teams must first reach the required Champion Rush points and then secure a Booyah to become the Free Fire World Cup 2026 champions.

The previous Night Market closed on May 28, 2026. Players had waited close to seven weeks for the July return.

Next Valorant Night Market Date

Valorant’s Night Market schedule has not followed a fixed pattern in the past. Two markets earlier in 2026 did run on a three-week cycle, with one opening on March 26 and the next on May 7. That pattern broke this time. Instead of a June return, the wait stretched into July.

The market opens on July 16 and closes on July 29, giving players roughly two weeks to browse their offers.

How the Valorant Night Market Works

Each Night Market gives every player six random weapon skins at a discount. The skins come from the Select, Deluxe, and Premium tiers.

A few rules apply:

  • The skin selection is random and locked in once revealed. You cannot reroll for different skins.
  • Skins you already own will not appear in your offers.
  • Old skins can be traded in as part of a purchase.
  • The offers disappear once the market closes.

The criticism quickly escalated as both Vedzz and Aurum responded with their own explanations. As a result, the selection process turned into a public dispute.

India’s official roster for the tournament features Snipaul, Unforgiven, Ryzn, and Vedzz, with Rupesh and Illmindd named as substitutes. Aurum was appointed as Team India’s coach by NODWIN Gaming, India’s National Team Partner for the ENC.

What Started the PUBG: Battlegrounds ENC Controversy?

The controversy began after Trnsluc3nt shared a detailed statement on social media questioning multiple aspects of Team India’s selection process for the Esports Nations Cup. He argued that coach Aurum was not the right choice to lead the national squad. He claimed the former professional had not actively competed in PUBG PC for around three years. Therefore, Aurum was disconnected from the current competitive meta.

Trnsluc3nt also questioned the inclusion of Vedzz in the final roster. According to him, Vedzz had not been consistently active in competitive PUBG PC over the past year. Vedzz had also missed this year’s PUBG Master Series (PMS). Further, he alleged that Vedzz was given preferential treatment during the selection process. This happened despite Vedzz’s recent inactivity.

In addition, Trnsluc3nt suggested that the selection lacked transparency. He claimed player feedback was either ignored or not properly considered during discussions. This led to concerns over how the final roster was decided. His allegations quickly gained attention across the Indian PUBG PC community. Consequently, they sparked widespread debate over whether recent performances should have carried more weight in the national team selection.

Vedzz Responds to the Allegations

Vedzz soon issued a public response addressing the accusations made by Trnsluc3nt. He clarified that he voluntarily skipped the PUBG Master Series because he had already committed to serving as the in-game leader (IGL) for HAVK during the 2026 season. According to him, missing PMS should not have been interpreted as a lack of competitive involvement.

He also denied claims that he was forced into the national roster. Vedzz explained that internal disagreements existed within the team before the qualifiers. Several players initially refused to play under Snipaul as the IGL. As a result, this reportedly led to separate practice sessions before the squad eventually reunited under a common structure.

Vedzz further admitted that the team did not get enough scrim opportunities leading up to the qualifiers, which affected their preparation. BLAST Premier has confirmed Ulaanbaatar as the host city for its second Open event of 2027. The tournament brings a tier-one Counter-Strike LAN to Mongolia for the first time.

Here is everything confirmed so far about dates, prize money, and how teams will qualify.

When Is BLAST Open Ulaanbaatar 2027

The event runs from May 10 to May 23, 2027. It spans two weeks of competition and features 16 teams competing for a total prize pool of $1,250,000.

Mongolia’s First BLAST Premier Event

This marks the first time BLAST Premier holds a full event in Mongolia. The organization previously had a smaller presence in the country through a qualifying event tied to BLAST Open London in 2025, but Ulaanbaatar 2027 will be its first complete tournament held there.

BLAST says the event brings its arena production and live competition directly to one of Counter-Strike’s most active fan communities.

How Teams Qualify for the Event

Sixteen teams will compete at BLAST Open Ulaanbaatar. Of these, 11 receive direct invitations through the Global VRS rankings. The remaining five come through regional qualifiers held in Asia, Europe, North America, and South America.

Each region gets one qualifying slot. Because Ulaanbaatar is the host city, Asia receives an extra slot, bringing its total to two qualifying teams.

Key Dates for Qualification

The first round of invitations goes out on March 2, 2027, based on VRS rankings from March 1. The same date applies to regional qualifier invites.

Regional qualifiers take place online from April 16 to 18. Each closed qualifier invites four teams through the Global VRS and runs as an 8-team single elimination bracket. The Asia closed qualifier uses an 8-team GSL format instead.

Roster locks are set for April 12 for online qualifiers and April 30 for the main event.

Mongolia has built a strong following in competitive Counter-Strike in recent years. The MongolZ reached the final of the BLAST.tv Austin Major in 2025, losing to Team Vitality.

The Esports World Cup 2026 Dota 2 tournament has moved into its knockout phase. The Group Stage ended July 12, and the Survival Stage began July 14 at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles. Twelve teams are fighting for the four remaining Playoff spots in a $2 million tournament. The winner takes $750,000 and 1,000 Club Championship points.

Group Stage Results

Four teams finished at 9-1 and advanced directly to the Playoffs: Team Falcons (Group A), Nigma Galaxy (Group B), PARIVISION (Group C), and Team Yandex (Group D). Falcons dropped their opening game, then won nine straight maps. PARIVISION held an 8-0 record before a final-day draw with Team Spirit sealed their top seed. Yandex beat 1w Team on the last day after both entered tied at 7-1.

Eight teams were eliminated: GamerLegion, Poor Rangers, Level UP, L1GA TEAM, REKONIX, Team Nemesis, OG, and IC x Insanity.

How the Survival Stage Works

Twelve teams, the second, third, and fourth-place finishers from each group, compete in single-elimination best-of-three matches. Fourth seeds face third seeds first. Winners then face second-place teams. Four survivors join the four group winners in the eight-team Playoffs, starting July 16.

The opening game lasted around 35 minutes, with LGD taking control before closing out the map. The second game was a much longer battle, lasting more than an hour, but LGD eventually completed the sweep.

The victory kept LGD in contention for one of the four remaining playoff spots.

Elsewhere, Rune Eaters caused one of the day’s biggest surprises by defeating Virtus.pro 2-1.

The result sent Virtus.pro out of the competition while Rune Eaters advanced to the next stage of the Survival bracket.

The day’s remaining Vici Gaming versus PlayTime series was postponed amid a competitive-integrity review, adding another layer of uncertainty to an already chaotic Survival Stage.

With Liquid, LGD Gaming and Rune Eaters surviving elimination, the battle for the final EWC 2026 Dota 2 playoff spots remains wide open.
