DRX, Paper Rex, XERXIA and Optic Gaming become the first teams to qualify for Valorant Champions

The last tournament as a part of the Valorant Champions Tour, VCT Masters Copenhagen, would kickoff on the 10th of July with 12 teams fighting it out to make their last attempt at circuit points and qualify for Valorant Champions without playing the Last Chance Qualifiers.

Similar to the last year’s Champion, this year would see a similar tournament with 16 total teams qualifying for the event, out of which ten would qualify directly through circuit points while the rest of the top 10 teams from the regions would have to fight in the regional LCQ to make the last six participants in the tournament.

The Region Wise Slots for Valorant Champions:

  • Asia Pacific: 2 Slots
  • Brazil: 1 Slot
  • Europe, Middle East, and Africa: 2 Slots
  • Japan: 1 Slot
  • Korea: 1 Slot
  • Latin America: 1 Slot
  • North America: 2 Slots

The Qualified teams through Circuit Points would be as follow:

EMEA:

The two Valorant Champions positions would be for anyone to grab. With FPX at the top of the table right now, along with G2, would qualify if the qualified EMEA Teams, Guild and Fnatic take early tournament exit.

Going by the Masters Reykjavik format, Fnatic probably would get a top-seed advantage with a minimum of 250 points and might become the fixed seed as soon as the format is decided. While Guild’s run would decide their qualification status

North America:

Optic Gaming: Post winning the First Masters and securing 700 points, Optic Gaming has secured their position at the Valorant Champions irrespective of their run in the VCT Masters Copenhagen.

The second seed from NA would depend on XSET’s performance. If the VCT Masters Reykjavik format is followed, XSET will get 250 points irrespective if they win or lose their opening match, qualifying them for the Valorant Champions. If that doesn’t happen and they perform poorly, The Guard would become the NA #2.

Asia Pacific:

Paper Rex: With Paper Rex winning the VCT APAC Challengers and XERXIA, they have solidified their position at the Valorant Champions. They would probably be the top seed from APAC and try to make a significant impact at Champions.

XERXIA: With XERXIA officially becoming the second APAC Team, they have solidified their position at Valorant Champions. They would play the VCT Masters Copenhagen to be the top seed from APAC.

Korea:

DRX: With DRX completely dominating the Korean Scene, it is no surprise they are the team to qualify from Korea.

Japan:

The representative of Japan depends on the Northeption Run in the upcoming VCT Masters Copenhagen, If Northeption manage to place third or higher they’d be the Japanese Valorant Champions Representative or else Zeta would take over.

Brazil:

With Ninjas in Pajamas still in contention for VCT Masters Copenhgan Loud hasn’t yet qualified for the Valorant Champions. If NiP manage to qualify for the VCT Masters 2 they’d have to place second or win the tournament to even have a chance to take over loud.

LATAM:

With Leviatan Winning VCT LATAM Challengers while KRU esports still having to beat NiP to make it to the Masters Copenhagen the LATAM slot can be anyones. If KRU fails to make it to Masters Copenhagen, Leviatan would be the LATAM representative. Incase both KRU and Leviatan qualify for Copenhagen, whichever team places higher represents LATAM.

The next six teams would be decided by the regional LCQs where one teams from North America, South America, Asia Pacific, East Asia and EMEA would make it to the Valorant Champions. In the LCQ top eight teams of the region would battle it out with a goal to be the last team from their region to qualify.

The event would be held in Istanbul, Turkey and would probably feature a live audience if everything goes well. With the format of the tournament yet to be annouced it would most likely be similar to the last years Valorant Champion with 4 groups out of which 8 teams would make it to the playoffs and battle it out to become the Valorant Champions.

FPX Might Compete with Three Stand-Ins at Copenhagen Masters

FunPlus Phoenix (FPX) is an Esports subsidiary of Chinese Game Developer FunPlus. The esport org is a common name in LPL, Valorant and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. Their Valorant Division initially played in the CIS region and still consists of mainly CIS players, namely Shao, Suygetsu and Ange1, while Zyppan is Swedish, and Ardiils is Latvian.

The teams were the top seeds in the first stage of VCT EMEA Challengers beating Fnatic, G2 and Liquid to win the tournament. They were Iceland-bound but could not go because of the Russia-Ukraine conflict resulting in the team getting $25000 and 200 points. This was a heartbreak for them as the team had tried their best to qualify.

In the current split, FPX started strong and lost only to Ascend and Fnatic in their group. Fnatic has been having an absolute demon of a season and performing out of their mind this season. While Ascend one was a close loss.

Coming into the playoffs, FPX managed to start their run by beating Liquid, But losing to Fnatic made them drop to the lower bracket. Now in the lower bracket, they made a strong run initially by exacting revenge on Ascend, defeating M3 Champions and then Guild in the lower bracket finals to come face to face with Fnatic.

Unfortunately, despite the strong performance, they fell to Fnatic, losing the game 0-3. They were the only team in the tournament to take a map off Fnatic and qualify for VCT Masters Copenhagen as the second seed from EMEA.

But the VISA issue for Ukraine and Russia and the conflict persists due to which FPX might not be able to play with their whole squad again and would need to find subs to fill in for ANGE1, Suygetsu and Shao.

According to Jakub Czapran’s report, FPX would likely look for Subs for the event, eyeing Danish Duo Mathias’ SEIDER’ Seider from Alliance and Mikkel’ Masked’ Fuglsang from Who Cars along with Polish Przemek “Kereme” Bogdanowicz for the tournament if the players run into VISA issue.

As of now only, Zyppan and Ardiis have confirmed in the starting Lineup of FPX for the upcoming VCT Masters Reykjavik. The team is already Qualified for the Champions based on Circuit points though the seeding would depend on their master run.

Finding your Valorant Sensitivity, Crosshair and Graphic Settings

0

It has been a while since Riot launched its 5v5 tactical shooter Valorant and the game has taken the internet by storm; with the Riot now moving towards developing a mobile version, many newcomers are still pouring into Valorant.

The game has a simple objective: you either defend the bomb site from the attackers or plant the spike and ensure it detonates to win a round. There are other intricacies to the game, but to the core, the game is simple, eliminate the opposition and win the game.

And to start, Valorant still seems like a tall task. Being a keyboard-mouse-based game, Valorant still has many factors that come into play while playing Valorant. These include what mouse sensitivity to use?, what is the best crosshair?, what is the best aspect ratio?, and what are the best settings for maximum FPS?

Let’s start with the question of what is a crosshair. A crosshair is a pointer which points to the centre of your screen. It is a personal preference, but when you have a game that encourages spraying or bursting, players generally go with a Cross-Shaped Crosshair that is neither too small nor too big and has a small gap.

Dot Crosshairs are also popular amongst aimers as they tell you the exact point where your first bullet would go. Some professional players who are infamous for their aim use dot crosshair, e.g. Scream and Derke. While the Dot crosshair is rewarding, it might backfire, and you have little information.

An excellent way to start with your crosshair is to copy the crosshair of your favourite professional player and, starting there, adjust the crosshair according to you. You can do this in Valorant by copying the crosshair code if available. Go to Settings > Crosshair > Import Profile > Paster your Copied Code and then Import.

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1c4P7WgjXqfaGg5xnDCmA1SJtg2zjJXLc/view?usp=sharing

https://drive.google.com/file/d/18OcDwjD12qDROQX5X050Jz0sXUKlbg6k/view?usp=sharing

You can change the required settings depending on your choice.

Some standard Valorant crosshair codes you can use are:

  • CROSS:0;p;0;s;1;P;o;0.417;f;0;0t;1;0l;4;0o;1;0a;1;0f;0;1b;0;A;d;1;z;3;f;0;s;0;0b;0;1b;0;S;c;5;s;1.581;o;1 https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Z76uhyoBB8VYXHOrItrL5if9AsNJF2yk/view?usp=sharing
  • PLUS:0;p;0;s;1;P;o;0.695;0t;1;0o;0;0a;1;0f;0;1b;0;A;t;2;o;0.909;d;1;z;3;0b;0;1b;0;S;c;2;s;1.694;o;1 https://drive.google.com/file/d/1riBtcSzx_wix0iPmLFKrHaIqMn_dBbjf/view?usp=sharing
  • DOT: 0;s;1;P;d;1;z;3;0b;0;1b;0;S;c;2;s;0.915;o;1 https://drive.google.com/file/d/16Ireq7KwRMvBd9LlUQZrYDlXIvZeSb_4/view?usp=sharing

One thing you must consider while copying the crosshair code is the Aspect Ratio of the player you are copying the crosshair from. Generally, for Valorant, playing on your systems resolution and aspect ratio is recommended.

Now onto sensitivity, it is always a personal preference but must consider factors such as the availability of desk space. Lower sensitivity gives you better control, while higher sensitivity helps you cover a lot of angles without moving your mouse a lot.

An excellent way to understand if your sensitivity works for you is to set a fixed point in Valorant and strafe left to right, maintaining your crosshair on the fixed point. If you find yourself over-compensating, you should lower your sensitivity; if under-compensating, you should increase your sensitivity.

Sensitivity like crosshair is also largely affected by the resolution, aspect ratio and your playstyle. A person who enjoys flicking should opt for a faster resolution, while one who stays back and hold should opt for a slower one.

On average, streamers and professionals run a Valorant eDPI of 277, which is your in-game sensitivity multiplied by your mouse’s DPI, which means at 400 DPI on your mouse, you have 0.69 as your in-game sensitivity. To calculate your eDPI, use the formula.

Valorant eDPI = In-Game Sensitivity * DPI

It is to be noted that this is just for Valorant, and when you compare it with CSGO, it is awfully low. As an average CSGO professional, eDPI is around 850s. It is because both scales are different, and if you scale Valorant Sensitivity to CSGO’s Sensitivity, you will get an eDPI of around 800s.

If you are coming from  CSGO, you can multiply your CSGO in-game sens by 3.18 to get your sens in Valorant, maintaining the same mouse DPI. But it is highly recommended that you play games with different sensitivities as both titles have unique offerings.

VALORANT SENSITIVITY = CSGO SENSITIVITY * 3.18

Once you find yours for Valorant, you shouldn’t change it often and stick to one until you are comfortable with the sensitivity, as changing might bring short-term results but doesn’t garner value in the long term.

Now onto Video settings other than resolution and Aspect Ratio. It would be best if you always went for low graphic settings, especially in a game like Valorant, so only necessary information is processed, reducing the load on your system and you. You don’t want to see the details on a wall as they don’t matter.

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1fDW1_Bh65XysMtphaxsYhv_tKmedyE9Y/view?usp=sharing

In the Graphics Settings, Multicore Rendering helps distribute load across multiple cores allowing the game to run smoother. The quality settings should be low while learning and can be changed later depending on the system.

Anisotropic Filtering and Anti-Aliasing filtering are Video Filtering techniques; thus, using minimum would take the load off your system. VSync helps to sync frames between Screen refresh rate and In-game FPS and should be used when In-Game FPS is lower than screen refresh rate, or else it would lead to frame tearing.

To sum it all up, All the settings are a personal preference. One can start by the following someone but should change it depending on their preference. Following the settings mentioned earlier should help you begin your Valorant Journey, but eventually, you should find your place in the world of Valorant.
