Apex Legends Mobile gets new character Rhapsody in a distortion update

EA Games the developer of Apex Legends Mobile has announced the launch of season 2. The new season is scheduled to get live on July 12 for Android and iOS users with the addition of a new character ‘Rhapsody‘.

About Rhapsody

Rhapsody is a DJ who speaks of her childhood in Kómma where the tech giant Pythas Inc. controls all. The steady rhythm reflects her supportive mother, a brilliant AI engineer. And the booming bass resembles Rowdy, the robot companion her mother created to amplify her daughter’s voice. Life was good, but good times in Kómma never last long.

When her mother was fired from Pythas Inc. for discovering company secrets, her family was buried in false debt and forced into the dangerous nightlife district: Neon Dunes. There, Rhapsody honed her art. The unrest around her inspired groundbreaking music with a rebellious heart, capturing the passion of its people.

Passive: Gifted Ear

You pick up and visualize sounds from an extended range

Tactical: Hype Anthem

Play a powerful track that speeds up nearby squadmates and recharges shields. Taking damage will end the effect.

Ultimate Ability: Rowdy’s Rave

Rowdy projects a wall of flashing lights that block incoming sight and scans.

Legend Progression Perks

  • Volume Control – Squadmates affected by your Tactical temporarily gain Gifted Ear.
  • Sound Bleed -Occasionally see nearby 3D sound visualizations effects through walls.
  • Tuned In – Continuous running increases the range of Gifted Ear.
  • Reverb – The more squadmates your Tactical affects, the longer it lasts.
  • Harmony – Your Tactical increases the speed of revives and the effect of healing items.
  • Rowdy’s Rhythm – During your ultimate, squadmates standing near Rowdy reload faster.

Pythas Block 0 is a new TDM map. It’s a corporate campus owned by Pythas Inc. that sits high above the city of Kómma on Solace. It’s used for Pythas offices of high-end executives, some entertainment, and an arcade called Pythas Arcade.

SEASON 2 GAME MODES

In this update, Arenas will be back at a future date, instead, we have two brand new game modes making their debut:

Gun Game

Acquire kills to work your way through the extensive Arsenal of guns available in the Apex Games. Most points or three melee kills win in this fast-paced game mode!

Hack

A brand new Syndicate competition, Hack enters Apex Legends Mobile.

An ADS Satellite which has been built based on The Ring Technology, acts as an orbital cannon overlooking the playing field.

In this mode, two teams face off as Hackers vs. Defenders. As Hackers, your job is to work with your team to Hack one of the two sites on the map to gain points. After three points have been attained, the Satellite will punish your opponents by frying them to a crisp. As defenders, your job is to stop the hackers at all costs!

First to win four rounds wins the match, work with your team to either hack the ADS and laser your opponents or eliminate hackers to stave off death by orbital cannon at all costs.

Valorant: Sentinels sign Shroud

0

Sentinels have added Michael “shroud” Grzesiek to their active Valorant division, the North American Organization announced today on their Twitter handle.

This roster update marks Shroud’s return to the competitive scene after over five years of inactivity since having last featured in Cloud9’s CS:GO squad although the Americas Minor of the IEM: Katowice 2019 Major was the last time we saw him don the Old Guys Club tag.

Shroud’s switch to Valorant and his move to Sentinels indeed took everyone by storm as it was never expected that he’d get back in the competitive scene. As far as the facts suggest, Shroud would be filling in the spot for Hunter “SicK” Mims at the forthcoming VCT North American Last Chance Qualifier.

As per Dot Esports, Shroud’s signing to Sentinels have been confirmed as the player would take up on Controller duties on the roster. Shahzeb “ShahZaM” Khan will resume the In-Game leader duties as revealed by Shroud on his stream.

With Shroud on board, Sentinels now have:

  • Shahzeb “ShahZaM” Khan
  • Hunter “SicK” Mims
  • Michael “dapr” Gulino
  • Tyson “TenZ” Ngo
  • Eric “kanepeki” Xu
  • Michael “shroud” Grzesiek
  • Shane “Rawkus” Flaherty (Head Coach)

Esports Needs No Introduction, The Decade Ahead

Esports has been around for two decades but their popularity as a form of entertainment has only started to accelerate in the last few years, with the rise of events like the 2021 Free Fire World Series being the most viewed esport event of all time. Once deemed an underground activity esports has now been fully launched into the mainstream and viewing these events has never been easier.

You might have seen esports feature more on sportsbooks and have seen them on your televisions and thought to yourself. ‘This is another fad’. Well, on the contrary esports is not only here to stay, but also to launch off to heights very few could have predicted.

It is difficult to pinpoint one overall reason why esports has become so successful but one thing no one can deny is the promotion of YouTube and streaming sites like twitch have had a huge impact on this community. Sites like https://www.bemybet.com/comeon-app/ will cover several events held throughout the world and like with all sports will go where the love and desire for the games are.

Some gamers such as Ninja have millions of subscribers across multiple platforms, and this is before you consider the competition aspect of things. Before the world of competitive gaming would have been frowned upon and for many, this will still be the case but the status of some of these people makes them among the most popular entertainers in the world.

Will esports Continue to Grow?

Predicting the future is not a thing someone should do lightly, but the answer is a resounding yes for me. Over time the image of competitive gaming will grow to be the norm and the revenue of the industry will increase because of this. We already see evidence of many kids selecting people who play esports as their idols and this will, without doubt, spark into future generations who love esports and consider it to be their favourite type of sport.

From a betting point of view, this will translate into having more events to bet on and due to the popularity of the sport growing more and more sportsbooks will want to get involved. This is exactly what gambling and esports lovers have been waiting on for years. When gambling on esports you are more likely to have a connection with a competitor due to the way many gamers advertise themselves to their fans and this should make the gambling experience even more fun.

What Can We Expect to See in The Near Future?

Without getting into specifics the direction of any sports that garners a lot of attention is obvious. Lucrative contracts will be sought by players and the games will be shown more frequently on mainstream TV channels.

The demographic for these games is very far-reaching although south-east Asia is where the majority of high-staked action takes place. In many ways, this part of the world was responsible for kicking off this phenomenon with many gamers in countries like Japan getting the rockstar treatment. Depending on your experience with esports this is likely to either surprise you or maybe delight you.

Conclusion

In short, the future is very bright for esports, and the trajectory will look comparable to a rocket taking off in comparison to steady growth. A huge portion of society is into gaming and is no becoming used to the idea of esports as a credible venture. It is difficult to say just how big and mainstream esports can get but one thing is for sure. It is here to stay so it is worth checking out.

Does Ariana Grande have a Valorant Game Changers team?

Ariana Grande Perfume Valorant has become a hot topic, and the reason is unrelated to Ariana Grande or her involvement in eSports. Ariana Grande Perfume is a North American Game Changers Valorant Team that has been sending waves across the VCT GC II.

Ariana Grande Perfume is a F/A Team consisting of wavy, Australis, m1yu, cwaudia, Bella and e-girl. The team is coached by iroo, a former TLP/Valiant coach.

As mentioned, the team is a F/A team, meaning an organisation does not sponsor them. They are playing the game together as a group on their expenditure. And without a proper infrastructure supporting them.

The team has been playing since June of 2022. They managed to show a strong performance at the Game Changers Academy. They participated in the current Valorant Champions tour Game Changers II NA where they managed to work their way out through the Swiss Rounds and qualify for the Closed Qualifiers.

In the closer qualifiers, Ariana Grande Perfumes (ARI) started with a loss to Immortals, putting them into the lower bracket. In the lower bracket, They faced VersionX, where they beat them 2-0 to go into the next round.

The next opponent in NMG Celeste also fell with ARI defeating them 2-0 with scores of 13-4 and 13-7. With one win away from qualification, ARI faced Complexity GX3. The teams exchanged the first two maps with scores of 13-7 for ARI and 13-5 for GX3. It all came down to the final map.

In the final map of the series, ARI dominated GX3 and managed to win the game 13-7 to qualify for the VCT GameChangers II playoffs as a F/A team. In the playoffs, ARI faced Shopify Rebellion, one of the strongest teams in NA and lost to them despite a close-fought first map.

Again, ARI had a chance for vengeance against Immortals in the lower brackets. With elimination on the horizon, ARI managed to pull up an upset over the Immortals beating them 13-10 and 16-14, winning the game 2-0.

ARI would face Dignitas today and has already sent shockwaves worldwide for being a F/A team and still making such a historic run. Hopefully, they’d get signed soon and achieve many things in the future.

Trouble Brews for Fnatic Valorant as Mistic Contracts COVID

Ahead of Valorant Champions Tour Masters Copenhagen, Fnatic seems to be having issues with Alfajer’s VISA trouble to Mistic’s COVID result. It is starting to appear as if the world is against Fnatic.

If you don’t know, The second masters of Valorant Champions Tour will kick off on the 10th of July with the group stage. The event would be two weeks long, with the finals concluding on the 24th of July, crowning the new champions of the world.

Along with the rest of the teams, this event would be a big deal for Fnatic as they are yet to cement their positions in Champions. In EMEA, Guild, FPX, and Fnatic are the three contenders for the EMEA Circuit points slot in Valorant Champions.

The team, which has a solid performance in the upcoming VCT Masters Copenhagen, would book their ticket to Istanbul to play the Valorant Champions. FPX is leading, followed by Fnatic, G2, and Guild.

G2 will not be attending Masters Copenhagen so the race would be between Fnatic, FPX, and Guild.

But the trouble seems to not stop for Fnatic, Similar to lost masters, where Fnatic’s team faced difficulty and had to play with two stand-ins, first due to BraveAF controversy and secondly due to Derke’s covid.

This time, the issues started with Alfajer facing VISA issues, resolved yesterday with Fnatic’s IGL Boaster celebrating the event.

Later, the same day, Fnatic’s Mistic, in a sarcastic comment, announced he had contracted COVID.

Soon, Fnatic’s Team Director quickly clarified that Mistic had mild symptoms and they would play as a team in the event. If the results don’t come negative, they’d have to play from the hotel instead of the stage.

Since Fnatic is the top seed in the EMEA, they are already part of the playoffs, with their games starting on the 14th of July. The team is already in Copenhagen and is ready to take the Master’s Trophy home this time.

Cyberpunk Edgerunners: All you need to know about the anime

0

Rockerboys and Netrunners have joined forces to release an anime based on last years most highly anticipated game CyberPunk 2077.

Spearheaded by Netflix, the show will be aimed at giving the unsatisfied community something that will replicate the feeling that the game was supposed to impart. Addressing the elephant in the room, CyberPunk 2077 was a disaster, not only did it fail to live upto the hype, it set a precedent for what too much hype can do to a game. The rushed release of the title left many holes that successive patches were unable to fix.

To make up for what was lost, a new TV, on the same genre is set to grace Netflix, which will likely be a follow up to keep the audience interested in this genre.

Story of Cyberpunk Edgerunners

Edgerunners is a 10-episode anime within the Cyberpunk world that tells the story of freshly introduced characters, written and produced in collaboration with CD Projekt RED.

“Cyberpunk: Edgerunners tells a standalone story about a street kid trying to survive in a technology and body modification-obsessed city of the future. Having everything to lose, he chooses to stay alive by becoming an edgerunner—a mercenary outlaw also known as a cyberpunk.” -MyAnimeList.

There is no concrete release date for the same, but many sources have indicated for this anime to make its way in Netflix by the end of September 2022.

Free Fire collaborates with Justin Bieber on Fifth Anniversary

Garena has announced yet another interesting collaboration with a pop artist and this time, the beloved Justin Bieber will be seen in the realm of Free Fire with a wide range of curated content coming in-game as well as on social media front for the cumulative fanbase.

Free Fire will be celebrating its fifth anniversary very soon and they have raised the bar yet again as Justin Bieber is coming to the game. He will debut an exclusive track for Free Fire themed as “Reunite the world”. This track will be released on 27th August.

This will be the first in-game performance in Free Fire and it will be exciting to see how they bring the new track in Free Fire.

As a part of this collaboration, an in-game character based on Justin Bieber is expected to come to the game. A leak suggests that this new character will be called as “J Biebs”.

The special ability of this new character will be called as ‘Silent Sentinel’ and it will block the incoming damage via EP. This means that the player using JB’s character can block damage using EP for his allies as well and the amount of EP deducted from allies will be added to the player’s character.

Talking about the collaboration, Pop Star Justin Bieber said the following:

I’m excited to partner with Garena Free Fire to have this opportunity to entertain my fans across the globe. This collaboration with Free Fire has allowed us to explore various dimensions in which we can integrate my music with games and I can’t wait for everyone to enjoy what we have worked hard on behind the scenes.”

Free Fire’s fifth anniversary is certainly going to be a big hit for its fans as more content is yet to be announced and the other things that are coming to the game are certainly worth waiting for.
