All teams qualified for Valorant Champions 2022 playoffs

It’s finally time for the Valorant Champions 2022, the culmination of the 2022 tournament season. The group stage of the VCT Champions 2022 has begun, with the whole field of 16 teams competing. They will fight for eight available playoff berths there.

The Champions event will feature both seasoned and new athletes. OpTic Gaming and Paper Rex will return to compete for the title, while China’s EDward Gaming and Indonesia’s BOOM Esports will make their maiden appearances in an international competition.

The largest prize pool awarded at any Valorant tournament so far this year is on the line. In comparison to the regular prize pool of $650,000 for Masters events, the pot in the previous year’s world championship was worth $1 million.

The group stage of the competition began on August 31 and will continue through September 8. Following that, it will advance to the playoffs, which will take place from September 9 to September 18.

In Group A, LATAM squad Leviatán stunned Team Liquid and Paper Rex to become the first team to qualify for the playoffs.

Meanwhile, North American giants OpTic Gaming finally broke the stigma of sluggish beginnings at international championships, finishing 2-0 in their group. The Masters Reykjavik 2022 winners overcame BOOM Esports and LOUD to earn the top seed in Group B.

DRX became the first team to qualify for the next round in Group D. Following their victory over FURIA Esports, the Korean team recorded their first victory over a North American team, defeating 100 Thieves 2-0.

CSGO Pro Shows Middle Finger to Opponent, Proceeds to Lose 0-2

Trash talking and flaming is not new thing in the world of esports. And CSGO, being one of the biggest competitive shooters out there, is no stranger to it either

While flaming your opponents can come in many forms, a recent incident that happened during the Tipsport Cup Prague CSGO tournament is rapidly gaining traction in the community.

During a heated match between Entropiq Prague and Bad News Eagles, Josef “MoriiSko” Maurenc, who’s a member of the former team, chose a rather hilarious way to flame his opponents.

As the camera flashed on the Team Entropiq Prague roster during the group stage match, the CSGO pro flipped the middle finger towards his opponents while directly staring at the camera.

This “unsportsmanlike” behavior was followed by an immediate apology from Team Entropiq on Twitter

“We are leading our players to certain standards, that haven’t been met during our last match,” the org said in a statement. “We would like to apologize for our unsportsmanlike conduct.”

Following the incident, Entropiq Prague proceeded to lose the decider game 0-2 to Bad News Eagles. The latter will be competing in the upcoming playoffs which kicks off on September 17.

At the time of writing, Tipsport Cup Prague organizers haven’t made any comment on the incident. This likely means that MoriiSko won’t be receiving any form of suspension.

It’s important to mention that flipping a middle finger to your opponent isn’t exactly against the rules of most CSGO tournaments. However, this can count as unsportsmanlike behavior, which is often frowned upon by tournament organizers.

All Recent CSGO Source 2 Leaks

Over the past few days, several leaks have surfaced on the internet that directly hint towards the Source 2 port for CSGO being just around the corner.

Here’s everything you need to know about the recent Source 2 leaks for CSGO:

The series of leaks started when Twitter user and popular CSGO leaker ‘Aquarius’ revealed that Valve had been testing out the fan-favorite bomb-defusal map ‘Cobblestone’ on the Source 2 engine.

Earlier this year, we had seen more leaks confirming that Valve had been working on porting some of the CSGO maps to the Source 2 engine for a while.

The maps that have already been reworked on the Source 2 engine include Inferno, Overpass, Italy, Shoots, Lake, and Shortdust.

These leaks were followed by a huge leak from ‘Gabe Follower’, which claimed that a speculated Source 2 port of CS:GO was being tested by the developers on the public App ID 730 instead of the usual private App ID 710.

[OPTIONAL:]  With the testing of Source 2 beginning on the public CSGO App ID, it’s only a matter of time before Valve adds the Source 2 versions of the previously mentioned maps to the same, which brings us much closer to the actual release of the Source 2 engine upgrade.

Finally, dataminers were able to discover even more details about the CSGO Source 2 upgrade with the release of the Dota 2 Battle Pass on September 1st. The Dota 2 update included lines of code that hinted towards a potential Source 2 upgrade.
