The Miami Heat will play under the Vice City name for one night as part of a partnership with Rockstar Games for Grand Theft Auto VI. The event is called “A Night In Vice City.” It takes place on November 18, 2026, one day before GTA 6 releases on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
The Heat announced the event on October 2. The team called it “a historic partnership” and “a never-been-done-before event.” For the game, the team gets a new uniform and a custom court built around the game’s fictional version of Miami.

ESPN is showing the game nationally, so people outside Miami can watch the Vice City court live.
Vice City jersey and court details
The Heat will wear a newly designed Vice City uniform for this game only. The team has not shown the design yet, and fans can sign up on the Heat website to be told when it is revealed.
The court is a custom hardwood floor made for this one night. Push Square reports that it will use the pink and sunset colors from GTA 6’s marketing, and that “Welcome to Vice City” signage will be projected onto the arena roof. The Heat say more in-game activities will be announced closer to the date.
The Heat’s own Vice Nights uniforms, inspired by the Miami Vice TV show, share the same retro Miami look that Vice City has always used. This is the first time the team has played under the Vice City name.

Why the game is on November 18
GTA 6 releases on November 19, 2026, so the Heat game is the night before launch. Vice City is Rockstar’s version of Miami. The game’s map covers the wider state of Leonida, which is based on Florida.
The partnership follows other recent marketing for the game. Before this, Take-Two put an extended look at GTA 6 on Netflix, and fans have been studying gameplay and map footage from that showing since. Take-Two has said it wants to use unusual ways of marketing GTA 6 before release.
