Epic Games Increases Fortnite V-Bucks Prices

EPIC Games has officially confirmed the price adjustment for V-Bucks, Fortnite's in-game currency that is used to get skins, emotes, and more. While keeping the package price the same, EPIC has reduced the V-bucks per dollar, and it goes without saying that players are unhappy about it. Why Fortnite V-Bucks Prices Are Increasing According to EPIC Games, the price hike is attributed to a significant increase in the operating costs of the game. Heading into 2026, the operating cost of the game has seen a big uptick, and to keep up with these costs, EPIC was left with no other option but to increase the prices. While fans will not directly see the new prices, EPIC has been crafty in reducing the number of V-Bucks they get for the same price. While it may look like a deceiving tactic, this is a very popular way brands tackle inflation. New Fortnite V-Bucks Pricing The new prices are as follows: $8.99 pack – 800 V-Bucks (previously 1,000) $22.99 pack – 2,400 V-Bucks (previously 2,800) $36.99 pack – 4,500 V-Bucks (previously 5,000) $89.99 pack – 12,500 V-Bucks (previously 13,500) Custom purchases – $0.99 for 50 V-Bucks (previously $0.49) Changes to Battle Pass and Other Passes Epic Games is also adjusting the pricing of various Fortnite passes. Battle Pass will now cost 800 V-Bucks instead of 1,000. Completing the Battle Pass will also reward 800 V-Bucks instead of 1,000. Bonus rewards will no longer include V-Bucks. Other passes are also being updated: OG Pass – 800 V-Bucks (down from 1,000) Music Pass – 1,200 V-Bucks (down from 1,400) LEGO Pass – 1,200 V-Bucks (down from 1,400) The Fortnite V-Bucks price increase marks one of the most important changes in the history of the game, and while EPIC Games is calling it a necessary change due to operational costs, fan sentiment will be negatively impacted by this.
