The tournament will be played online and will have three stages: South Asia Play-ins, Main Event Group Stage, and Grand Finals. The timing also makes the event important for Indian teams, as the FFWS 2026 Global Finals will begin shortly after it in November.

FFMAI 2026 Fall Main Event Format

The Main Event Group Stage is scheduled for October 22 to October 24.

Once again, 18 teams will participate. The lineup will include seven teams from the South Asia Play-ins and 11 directly invited teams.

The teams will be divided into three groups of six. A total of 18 matches will be played over three matchdays, with each team playing 12 matches.

After the Group Stage, the top 12 teams in the overall standings will advance to the Grand Finals on October 25.

FFMAI 2026 Fall Main Event Invited Teams

Several major teams from across Asia have received direct invitations to the Main Event.

The confirmed invited teams shown for the Main Event include:

  • AG.AL
  • Buriram United Esports
  • Bigetron by Vitality
  • RRQ Kazu
  • GOW
  • P Esports
  • Team Vamos
  • Team Apex Gaming
  • Team Infinity
  • Total Winner Esports
  • Horaa Esports

This means Team Apex Gaming will directly begin its campaign from the Main Event, while India’s other participating teams will first have to survive the South Asia Play-ins.

The lineup also includes Bigetron by Vitality, the FFMAI 2026 Summer champion, setting up another strong international test for the Indian teams.

FFMAI 2026 Fall Grand Finals and Champion Rush Format

The FFMAI 2026 Fall Grand Finals will be played on October 25, featuring the top 12 teams from the Main Event.

The tournament will use the Champion Rush format, which Indian fans recently saw during FFMIC 2026 Fall.

The Champion Rush threshold will be 110 points. Teams will initially play under the regular points system. Once a team reaches 110 points, it becomes Champion Rush eligible.

However, simply reaching 110 points is not enough to win the tournament. After becoming eligible, the team must secure a Booyah in a subsequent match to become the FFMAI 2026 Fall champion.

For example, if a team starts a match below 110 points, crosses the 110-point mark during that match and also gets a Booyah, that victory will not immediately make it the champion. The team first needs to finish the match and become Champion Rush eligible. It then needs another Booyah in a following match to win the title.

According to the format information provided, the Grand Finals do not have a fixed match count. Matches can continue until a Champion Rush-eligible team secures a Booyah.

Why Free Fire MAX Asia Invitational 2026 Fall Is Important for Indian Teams

FFMAI Fall comes at an interesting time for Indian Free Fire esports.

Team Apex Gaming, Resurrection Esports, and TSG Pros have already qualified for the FFWS 2026 Global Finals after their performances at FFMIC 2026 Fall.

Apex Gaming has a direct invitation to the FFMAI Main Event. Resurrection Esports and TSG Pros, meanwhile, will have to begin their campaigns from the South Asia Play-ins.

This could give India’s FFWS-qualified teams valuable international competition shortly before the World Series. They could potentially face teams from established Free Fire regions such as Thailand, Indonesia, and Vietnam before heading into the global championship.

For other Indian teams, FFMAI 2026 Fall also provides an opportunity to end the season with an international title after competing domestically at FFMIC Fall.

FFMIC tested India’s teams against each other. FFMAI will test them against Asia, before FFWS puts India’s best teams against the world.

FFMAI 2026 Fall will begin with the South Asia Play-ins from October 16-18, followed by the Main Event Group Stage from October 22-24. The Champion Rush Grand Finals will take place on October 25.

With a $50,000 prize pool, international opponents, and the tournament taking place shortly before FFWS 2026, the event could be an important test for India’s top Free Fire teams.

Team Apex Gaming already has its place in the Main Event, while teams such as Resurrection Esports, TSG Pros, S8UL Esports, Total Gaming Esports, Revenant XSpark, and others will first have to fight their way through the South Asia Play-ins.
