The Esports World Cup 2026 enters another important phase on July 21, with competition continuing to heat up across multiple titles in Paris.
The 2026 edition has already delivered major champions in VALORANT, Apex Legends, League of Legends, Dota 2, Free Fire and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang. With more tournaments now getting underway, the battle for individual trophies and the overall Club Championship is becoming increasingly intense.
PUBG and TFT Take Center Stage
Two major competitions begin on July 21: PUBG: Battlegrounds and Teamfight Tactics.
The PUBG tournament features 24 teams competing for a share of a $2 million prize pool. The opening group-stage matches begin on July 21, with Groups A and B scheduled to play before the remaining teams enter the competition. The grand finals are set for July 24–26.
Teamfight Tactics also begins its EWC campaign on July 21. The tournament features 16 teams competing for $500,000. Its group stage runs from July 21 to July 23, followed by the playoffs on July 24 and 25.
Club Championship Race Gets Tighter
The EWC is not only about winning individual game tournaments. Clubs are also competing for points in the overall Club Championship.
NAVI currently leads that race, while Team Vitality is among the clubs pushing to close the gap after a successful second week. The results from multiple titles are therefore adding another layer of importance to every tournament still to come.
The second week ended with LYON winning Free Fire, Team Vitality taking the MLBB Women’s International title, Dplus KIA winning League of Legends and PVISION claiming the Dota 2 championship. LYON also set a new EWC elimination record with 33 kills in a single Free Fire game.
EWC 2026 Continues to Build Momentum
July 21 marks another busy day for the EWC, with new tournaments beginning while the wider competition continues across Paris.
The Esports World Cup has also expanded its global footprint through partnerships. On July 21, Saudia was announced as the official airline of EWC 2026, including an EWC-branded aircraft and fan experiences connecting Riyadh and Paris.
With PUBG and TFT now entering the schedule, the coming days are set to bring another wave of high-stakes international esports action.
