Discord’s worth increased to $15 billion, after raising $500 million in new funding

An investment firm named Dragoneer Investment Group has endowed Discord with $500 million in new funding. After this deal, Discord’s valuation is now $15 billion, according to Bloomberg.

According to a Discord spokesperson, apart from the above-mentioned investment group, Baillie Gifford & Co, Coatue Management, Fidelity Management & Research Co, and Franklin Templeton have also participated in the funding.

Since the starting of the COVID-19 pandemic, Discord was growing at a very fast pace. Discord was always popular among gamers, however, it is now also famous for group conversation and conferences.
