Amid the coronavirus pandemic, Counter-Strike Professional Players’ Association (CSPPA) is in talks with ESL, StarLadder, and DreamHack to alter off-season breaks, according to a report by HLTV. CSPPA has pitched forward a proposal extend winter break by a week until January 17, 2021, taking people who celebrate Orthodox Christmas into consideration.

The report further confirmed that the organisers have accepted the CSPPA’s proposal to extend winter break. However, both CSPPA and tournament organisers are locked in talks to shift the summer break. Presently, the summer break for professional players is scheduled from July 15 to August 15. The organisers intend to prepone the break between June 29 to July 31 due to the restrictions imposed amid COVID-19 pandemic.

The preponement of summer break could eventually affect the cathedral of Counter-Strike – ESL One: Cologne 2020 which is scheduled from July 6 to July 12. ESL is likely to move the stadium event to a probable studio affair in August due to German government’s measures to ban large gatherings until late August, HLTV reported.
