Vitality has taken down FaZe with a 2-0 scoreline as they head to the Esports World Cup Quarterfinals. Winning a tough opening map, Vitality steamrolled FaZe on their comfort pick, showcasing why the Vitality era is far from over despite a drop in form.

Map 1: Dust2; Pick: Vitality; Winner: Vitality
Vitality started the map dominantly on their offence, setting FaZe on the back foot right from the beginning of the game. With Vitality dropping the ball, FaZe recovered later in the half, finding a footing on the defence, levelling the scoreline by the end of the first half. With FaZe threatening to take it away early on, Vitality turned more offensive on their defence, taking the momentum away. With a highly dynamic defence, they managed to catch FaZe off guard, which not only took the momentum but also threw a spanner in the works, leading to a tight close of the map with a 13-11 scoreline.
Map 2: Cache; Pick: FaZe; Winner: Vitality
Both teams trading rounds prevented either side from stabilising early on. Vitality managed to find momentum on the defence as FaZe barely stood a chance. Swapping sides with a 9-3 lead, Vitality remained equally dominant in the second half, with the FaZe defence failing to stop them. Getting 5 rounds in the following half, Vitality closed out the game with a 13-6 scoreline, displaying a dominant show of Counter-Strike.
Vitality was doubted coming into the event with the drop in form, but game by game they are returning to their very best. While many claimed the Vitality era to be over with the likes of Falcons, FURIA and Spirit rising, there might be some fire still left in them to take the EWC home.
