ESL Confirms IEM Brazil 2027

ESL has confirmed that Intel Extreme Masters will return to Brazil in 2027. The tournament organizer has not yet named the host city for the event.

The announcement continues Brazil’s run as a regular stop on the IEM calendar after IEM Rio hosted the 2026 edition.

IEM Brazil 2027 Dates and Prize Pool

IEM Brazil 2027 is scheduled to run from May 3 to May 9. The event will follow the standard IEM format and carry a prize pool of $1,000,000.

Sixteen teams will compete at the tournament. ESL has not revealed which city in Brazil will host the event, though the 2026 edition took place in Rio de Janeiro.

How Teams Qualify for IEM Brazil 2027

The invite structure for IEM Brazil 2027 follows a set pattern. Eleven of the sixteen teams will earn their spots through the global Valve Regional Standings, known as VRS.

One additional slot each will go to the top team from the North American and South American regional VRS rankings. That accounts for two more places.

The final three spots will be decided through qualifiers. Two of these will be global qualifiers, while one will be an Americas qualifier.

Tournament Format

IEM Brazil 2027 will open with a group stage split into two groups of eight teams each. Every group will play in a double-elimination, best-of-three format.

Each group will send four teams through to the playoffs, bringing the total playoff field to eight teams.
