BGMS Season 2: Everything You Need to Know

The much-awaited Battlegrounds Mobile India Masters Series (BGMS) Season 2 is all geared up to kick off on 4th August. As the highly anticipated tournament approaches, players and fans alike are eagerly anticipating the intense battles and adrenaline-pumping action that will unfold in this esports extravaganza. In this article, we will take you through all the details you need to know about BGMI Masters Series Season 2.

BGMS Season 2 to Feature a Staggering ₹2.1 Crore Prize Pool in Delhi NCR

BGMI Masters Series Season 2 promises to be bigger and better, boasting a whopping prize pool of ₹2.1 crore. The tournament will witness the clash of 24 top-notch teams, each vying for the coveted title. Additionally, to add to the excitement, BGMS Season 2 will be an offline event, with all matches taking place in a LAN setting in Delhi NCR. This face-to-face showdown will undoubtedly elevate the competitive spirit and deliver electrifying moments for both players and spectators.

BGMS Season 2: All Invited and Qualified Teams

The tournament will showcase the skills of 14 directly invited teams that have proved their mettle in the battlegrounds. Additionally, 10 teams have advanced from the Qualifiers, earning their spot in the prestigious event. Following is the list of all invited teams and qualified teams:

Only Chemin Esports has qualified for the tournament so far. Remaining nine teams are yet to qualify.

Format and Schedule 

BGMI Masters Series Season 2 will unfold in five main phases – Launch Week, Week 1, Week 2, Playoffs, and Grand Finals.

Launch Week (4th to 6th August): The Launch Week will take place from 4th to 6th August. Spanning over three days, this phase will see all 24 teams evenly divided in three groups competing in round-robin format. Points accumulated during this week will be added to the Overall leaderboard.

Week 1 (7th to 13th August): Week 1 will consist of League Week 1 and Super Weekend 1

  • League Week 1 (7th to 10th August): League Week 1 will see all 24 teams divided in three equal groups competing against each other. Matches will be played across all four days in round-robin format. Top 16 teams from this stage will advance to the Super Weekend 1.
  • Super Weekend 1 (14th to 17th August): Top 16 teams from League Week 1 will compete in Super Weekend 1 across three days. Points from Super Weekend 1 will be added to the Overall Leaderboard.

Notably, the top four teams on the Overall Leaderboard at the end of Super Weekend 1 will secure a direct spot in Super Weekend 2. However, they will also face the challenge of competing in League Week 2.

Week 2 (14th to 20th August): Week 2 follows a similar pattern with League Week 2 and Super Weekend 2.

  • League Week 2 (14th to 17th August): League Week 2 will be a four-day battle, mirroring the format of League Week 1. Matches will be played across all four days in round-robin format. However, only the top 12 teams will proceed to Super Weekend 2.
  • Super Weekend 2 (18th to 20th August): Super Weekend 2 will witness a fierce clash between the top 12 teams from League Week 2 and the leading four teams from Super Weekend 1. The stakes are high as the points accrued during this phase will have a significant impact on the Overall Leaderboard.

Top four teams on the Leaderboard, after the conclusion of Super Weekend 2, will advance to the BGMS Season 2 Grand Finals. Subsequently, teams ranking from 5th to 20th will proceed to compete in Playoffs. However, it will be the of the journey for the botton four teams.

Playoffs (22nd and 23rd August): As the dust settles, the Playoffs will take place on 22nd and 23rd August. This crucial stage will witness 16 teams battling for the last remaining 12 slots in the prestigious Grand Finals. 

Grand Finals (25th to 27th August): Top 16 teams will compete over the span of three days to earn the highly-coveted title and a lion’s share from ₹2.1 Crore Prize Pool.

Scoring System and Format:

To make the competition more intense, BGMS Season 2 introduces a 15-point scoring system with a unique twist. Players will get two points for every kill they secure during the first circle, intensifying the contest and encouraging more aggressive gameplay. Teams will need to strategize and adapt to this scoring format to dominate the leaderboard.

Broadcast and Streaming

BGMI Masters Series Season 2 will receive extensive coverage, making it accessible to fans throughout the country. The tournament will be televised live on Star Sports Network, making it the only esports event to be showcased on TV. For digital viewers, the event will also be streamed on Rooter, ensuring that enthusiasts can catch all the action, regardless of their location.
