Following months of rumors and speculation, Rockstar has confirmed that Grand Theft Auto 6 will feature the Advanced Weather System that is designed to make the game more realistic and bring the world of Leonida to life.
According to Game Informer, Rockstar has confirmed the new weather system, which will replicate Florida’s less sunny weather conditions and bring as much detail as possible into the game.
The report comes after months of speculation. The highly anticipated Advanced Weather System remained a hot topic within the gaming community. Several leaks and reports hinted that GTA 6 would implement a dynamic weather system, but these claims lacked studio backing until now.
Based on earlier GTA games, the weather was nothing more than a minor cosmetic change that had little to no impact on the game mechanics or how the storyline played out. With the implementation of the new system, we might see the weather influence certain aspects of the game and its storyline, primarily in the game physics part.
The report did not confirm how exactly the new system will be integrated to make the world more realistic, but it speaks to the lengths Rockstar has gone to make the game as detailed as possible. It went on to describe wildlife, foliage, and other minor details that were designed to make Leonida as realistic as possible. With a decade’s worth of development behind it, every effort is being put into making the game the most realistic open world we have ever seen.
Set to hit consoles on November 19th, Grand Theft Auto 6 is predicted to have the biggest opening for a video game we have ever seen. As Rockstar continues to closely guard all of the advanced features they have put into the game, we have to hold our horses for another month and a half to see it for ourselves.
