Streaming platform Kick signs Chess Grand Master GMHikaru

0

Popular chess streamer GMHikaru has signed up for the up-and-coming streaming platform Kick. In their latest Tweet, they announced the arrival of the Grand Master who is set to go live starting Wednesday at 11 AM EST.

Twitch held the crown of the largest streaming platform for the longest time. It was able to fend off rivals like Mixer and Facebook Gaming successfully with none other than YouTube Gaming posing as a real competition. However, Kick has been making moves to throw the Amazon-owned platform at risk of losing its crown jewels.

As of late, they have planned to pick up 6 big names from Twitch and celebrated chess streamer GMHikaru as the first. The community was shocked to hear this but former Twitch streamer Trainwrekcs who happens to be the co-owner of Kick gave everyone a heads-up that all the names will come off as big surprises.

Hikaru boasts over 1.2 million followers were lured in by Kick, and nothing stops others from following in his footsteps.

Chess in recent years has generated a significant amount of football for Twitch and Kicks are looking to fight them at all fronts, not just gaming alone. According to Trainwrecks, there will be more shocking news in the days to come as speculations begin to surface left and right.

“when these next 6 signings are announced, twitch and all of its puppet f** faces will be shook” said Trainwrekcs in his Tweet.

Many streamers who faced tough luck with Twitch are potential suitors for the platform and who is better than a streamer himself to cherry-pick such streamers from them? Adin Ross, one of the biggest names in Twitch joined Kick in a heartbeat after he was banned and brought along his legion of viewers.

Kick promises better regulations, payout and improved quality-of-life changes for streamers which are enough of an incentive to jump ship. They have learned from the failure of Facebook Gaming and Mixer and now have emerged as a real threat to Twitch.

How to Activate the Paimon Bug in Genshin Impact

0

Genshin Impact’s Paimon is a beloved character who serves as the player’s guide throughout the game. Despite this, she has always been a passive companion, always hovering just out of reach, until now. A new bug has been discovered that allows Paimon to follow the player character around like a true companion. The bug can be activated during the Fungus Mechanicus event in version 3.5 of the game.

During the event, players need to be at the stage where Paimon is floating next to two Fungi in Port Ormos, under a bridge. By teleporting to the waypoint that brings you to the bridge directly above Paimon and the Fungi, entering co-op mode, and jumping down so that you land right on top of Paimon while opening up her menu at the same time, a second Paimon will appear and follow the player around as long as her menu isn’t opened again. The character who jumped will likely die during this process.

While this bug is unexpected, it is a welcome addition to the game. Fans have always wanted to be able to travel alongside Paimon, and this bug allows them to do just that. It would be even better if HoYoverse added the option to toggle her on and off like other gadget companions.

It’s essential to take advantage of the bug while it lasts since the Fungus Mechanicus event won’t last much longer. Fans should also make sure to pull for Ayaka, Shenhe, and Mika if they’re interested, as their banners will only be up for a few more weeks.

In conclusion, the new Paimon bug in Genshin Impact is an exciting discovery for fans of the game. It allows players to travel alongside Paimon as a true companion, and while it is unexpected, it is a welcome addition. Players should take advantage of the bug while it lasts and enjoy the Fungus Mechanicus event before it’s gone.

Heineken Launches Valorant-Themed Bar

Heineken, a brewing company, has opened a three-story bar in Vila Madalena, São Paulo, Brazil. The bar is themed after the popular game, Valorant, specifically the Icebox map, and is called the Heineken 0.0 Icebox Bar. It was launched to celebrate the debut of the VCT Americas league.

The first floor of the Heineken 0.0 Icebox Bar features various Icebox-themed elements, Radianite crates, and giant screens where fans can watch the matches. The second floor is a gaming area with ten computers and streaming booths. The rooftop bar has D.J.s for visitors to enjoy.

The Heineken 0.0 Icebox Bar was opened last week after Riot Games announced Heineken 0.0 as the official beer partner of Valorant map Icebox in VCT Americas’ streams. The brewing company will be present during map selection, gameplay, and other parts of the broadcast.

Igor de Castro, senior marketing manager for Heineken 0.0 in Brazil, said the bar will be open from March 31 to April 23 on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. However, registration will be limited to 250 people per day.

According to de Castro, “A lot of people still think that virtual games cannot be used to socialize. We want to break that stereotype and show that it’s quite the opposite. Friendships do start in games, and our Heineken 0.0 Icebox Bar is a special invitation from Heineken 0.0 so that meetings between people, which are already happening during matches, can also happen in a physical space.”

The VCT Americas league is scheduled to begin on April 1 and will run until May 28. It will feature ten teams from across the Americas, including three Brazilian squads: LOUD, MIBR, and FURIA.

Heineken’s partnership with Riot Games for VCT Americas is an expansion of the brewing company’s deal with CBLOL, Brazil’s top League of Legends competition. De Castro revealed that Heineken is considering taking the Icebox Bar to other cities in Brazil.

In conclusion, Heineken has launched the Heineken 0.0 Icebox Bar in Vila Madalena, São Paulo, to celebrate the debut of the VCT Americas league. Valorant players, get ready for the latest update as Valorant Patch 6.06 is set to go live soon. With this update, players can expect significant changes to Gekko’s kit, as well as adjustments to the new map, Lotus. Additionally, bug fixes will also be on the cards. Here’s a closer look at what to expect from this upcoming update.

Valorant Agent Updates: Gekko Changes

Gekko’s Moss Pit damage to objectives will be made more consistent in the upcoming patch, although its damage will be reduced quite a bit. In comparison to other similar abilities like KAY/O’s FRAG/ment (C) and Breach’s Aftershock (C), Mosh Pit’s damage to objects has been performing inconsistently. As a result, the damage has been reduced from 2.5x to 1x.

Wingman (Q) will also receive a change. In the upcoming update, Wingman will always die if he is the last agent alive.

Map Updates: Lotus Adjustments

Lotus, the new map in Valorant, will also receive a number of adjustments in the upcoming patch. VFX updates will be added to some areas of the map, particularly the destructible door located between A Link to A Main. This update aims to make it easier to see through the door as it falls away.

Gameplay System Updates

In addition to agent and map updates, there will also be a gameplay system update. The upcoming patch will add the ability to hide agent outlines and fresnel (the color outline on agents) in the game. Players can access this feature by going to Settings >> General >> Under “Other,” where there is an option to toggle “Hide Outlines and Fresnel.”

Bug Fixes

As with any update, Valorant Patch 6.06 will include a number of bug fixes to improve gameplay quality. Here are some of the bugs that will be fixed in the upcoming patch:

  • Wingman can no longer concuss intangible players.
  • Fixed a bug preventing players from sending a whisper starting with a Circumflex Accent ^.
  • Muting someone will now properly suppress ping icons.
  • Fixed a bug where the join party button would still be active even though the party invite was no longer valid.
  • Fixed a bug where the voice chat UI was obscured when the player’s agent was blinded.

For a more detailed description of the patch, players can visit Riot’s official website. But, the major highlights of Valorant Patch 6.06 include changes to Gekko, adjustments to the new map Lotus, and bug fixes to improve gameplay experience.

Conclusion

Valorant Patch 6.06 will introduce significant changes to Gekko, with the aim of making his kit more consistent. Additionally, the new map, Lotus, will receive adjustments that will improve players’ experience. Overall, the upcoming patch will be focusing on gameplay quality by fixing several bugs.

New Valorant ‘Diamond’ Reward System Releasing Soon: Leaks Suggest

0

The competitive grind in Valorant can often get tedious, which is why even hardcore players queue for a game of unrated or swiftplay every once in a while to take a break from ranked matchmaking. However, at this point, Riot seems to be giving very little incentive to players for playing unrated, spike rush, escalation, or any other game mode besides competitive. Sure, you get Battle Pass XP and AP (Account Points), but that’s about it.

Luckily, it seems that a new in-game reward system for Valorant might already be in the works. According to prominent Valorant data miner ‘ValorLeaks’, Riot Games is preparing to release a new daily rewards system for their competitive shooter.

While not much has been known so far about this new rewards system, the leak suggests that players will be able to earn ‘Diamonds’ by playing matches or rounds in different game modes. Each completed Diamond will reward players with 100 XP, with up to four Diamonds being up for grabs daily.

The leak further claims that there will also be daily bonuses that players can get by simply logging into the game.

This isn’t the first time that a daily rewards system for Valorant has been leaked on the internet. In February 2022, ValorLeaks provided us with the first look at a Valorant reward system that was already under development.

While the exact date of the release of this new rewards system hasn’t been confirmed as of yet, the earliest that fans can hope to see this new rewards system in action is alongside the release of Episode 6 Act 3 around April 25, 2023.

Pgl to Host the First Major of Counter Strike 2 in Denmark in 2024

PGL on Twitter have announced that they will be hosting the first ever major of Counter Strike 2 in March 2024. This will be the first S-tier Valve Sponsored event of the newest iteration of Counter-Strike.

Counter-Strike 2 has finally been revealed by Valve after several weeks of speculation around the same.

Valve had earlier announced the cancellation of the second Major of 2023. The tournament, which was scheduled for November 2023, has been scrapped to give way to the upcoming release of Counter-Strike 2.

The BLAST.tv Paris Major, which will run from May 8 to May 21, 2023, will be the last Major of the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. The next Major in the world of Counter-Strike will be hosted by PGL and will be held in Denmark. The said event is set to take place between March 17-31 of 2024 at the Royal Arena in Copenhagen.

The highly anticipated “Counter-Strike 2” is set to make its debut with a limited test having started earlier in this month. The game promises a complete overhaul to every system and every piece of content, bringing with it the largest technical leap forward in the history of the franchise.

Counter-Strike 2 would be released this summer alongside a promise of an “overhaul to every system, every piece of content, and every part of the experience.”

Valve’s decision to cancel the second Major of 2023 in CSGO did raise some concerns in the community but yet were supportive of the decision made by the former as teams and players would need to work on their strategies and get used to this newer version of the game.
