While history lessons can be boring, Fortnite boats interesting origins with the roots of the game going back as far as 2011. Epic Games had a plethora of reasons to not pursue it at the time, but as more and more Battle Royale games gained traction, Epic shifted their focus to Fortnite.

During its development, Epic was switched from Unreal Engine 3 to Unreal Engine 4 which further slowed down the process.

Upon its release, Fortnite quickly became a global epidemic and a hot topic in pop culture. Before we knew it, everyone, from rappers to movie stars was playing the game and in no time, it became the game with the most daily active players.

Within the first two weeks of launch, the game garnered over 10 Million players and that number only went up.

It’s been almost a decade since GTA V came out and it set the standards for what it means to be a video game. 10 years after its release, it can be argued that no open-world game was more sensational than GTA V which established a supposition that the only game that can beat GTA V would be GTA VI and we are closer to a trailer for it than ever.

When GTA VI got leaked months ago, Rockstar did their best to tie up the loose ends but it didn’t matter and fans were excited to find out their wildest dreams were coming to fruition. Fast forward to November, Rockstar has confirmed that GTA VI is nearing completion and they have a trailer for us to enjoy.
