How To Increase Communication Score in Dota 2?

To tackle the constantly rising toxicity in Dota 2, Valve has introduced a range of measures to counter and combat negative behavior within the game. While the concept of ‘Behavior Score’ has been a part of the game for a while, the impact of it on players was extremely limited.

Towards the end of 2023, Valve decided to revamp the behavior system of Dota 2 to reward positive behavior within the game while punishing negative behavior quite harshly. The introduction of the ‘Communication Score’ in Dota 2 marks a significant milestone in the game’s fight against toxicity. Although some players have criticized the system for potential abuse, it has proven to be highly effective in reducing toxic behavior within the game.

In layman’s terms, the Communication Score in Dota 2 is the representation of the quality of your in-game interactions. If you’re constantly being toxic in text chat or voice chat, your Communication Score is almost certain to plummet. On the other hand, Behavior Score is based on your overall actions in-game, and can be negatively impacted if you grief your games, destroy items, etc.

Having a low Communication Score can not only prevent you from chatting in the game, but it can also be detrimental to your ranked win rate as it will also prevent you from pinging ally abilities. If you’re finding yourself having a low Communication Score in Dota 2, and wish to raise it, we have you covered.

How To Increase Communication Score in Dota 2

dota 2 communication score

Increasing Communication Score in Dota 2 can often be difficult, especially if you’re in a low score bracket since you’re much more likely to be matched against equally toxic players.

However, there are a few things you can do in-game that will help you increase your Communication Score in Dota 2 fast.

Without further ado, let’s check out what you can do in Dota 2 to increase your Communication Score:

  • Never Tilt: Never lose your cool while playing Dota 2. Getting tilted can lead to toxic behavior and hurt your win rate, as it often results in poor decision-making. Remember, it’s just a game. If you find yourself getting frustrated, take a break and queue up later.
  • Mute Toxic Players: If a teammate is being toxic, mute them immediately without hesitation. While communication is important, especially in ranked games, it’s unlikely that a toxic player will contribute anything useful. It’s better to mute them and focus on the game.
  • Remain Positive in Chat: Start your games off with a polite ‘GL HF’, and end them with ‘GG WP’. Encourage your teammates, and appreciate them if anyone makes a good play. It’s not hard to be nice to other players, and it will certainly help you get more commends and increase your Communication Score.
  • Don’t Send Negative Messages: Typing out rude messages in chat is a surefire way to lower your Communication Score in Dota 2. We get it, Dota 2 games can get heated at times, but if you have a low Communication Score, it’s best to just suck it up and refrain from sending negative messages in the chat.

Map 1: Anubis; Pick – AA; Winner – Falcons

ALTERNATE aTTaX had a rough start to their map pick, despite Anubis being a map that Falcons have historically struggled on. Both teams traded rounds and had a very close first half but AA’s game planning was on point as they managed to edge out Falcons with a 7-5 scoreline.

Falcons started the second half on a roll, winning 5 rounds straight and putting AA behind with a 3 round lead. Despite their best efforts and cutting it close on multiple occasions, AA managed to get 11 rounds but the Falcons edged out a narrow victory with a 13-11 scoreline.

Map 2: Mirage; Pick – Falcons; Winner – Falcons

Mirage was yet another close affair as there was little to separate the two teams. Eternal Fire walked away with an 8-4 lead in the first half of the map.

The second half saw Eternal Fire fall off a cliff as Complexity dominated the entire way to make a comeback. Eternal Fire could cut it close on multiple occasions but a well-drilled T side that only lost a single round closed the map with a 13-9 scoreline. EliGE stood out as the best player on the server with an IR of 1.65 and 23 frags.

Map 2: Dust 2; Pick – Complexity; Winner – Complexity

Riot Games Shake up Valorant Esports Revenue: Teams Could Lose Upto $400K!

Sheep Esports recently revealed a report where it was depicted that Riot Games – the parent organization behind the popular esports title Valorant was planning on “tailoring down” part of their incentive program for the VCT international league teams by focusing more on in-game cosmetic sales than content creation.

This effectively means VCT teams that have had multiple streams of revenue via Riot Games as their chosen representatives across their four international leagues.

This is executed via a process where a fixed stipend is paid through an incentive program where a share of the proceedings from the in-game sales of specific team’s cosmetic bundles and the Champions bundles are split between the developer and the teams.

One of the revenue streams even included the team’s viewership revenue on VCT content and co-streams. This led to teams signing content creators to co-stream their teams with Valorant.

Best Valorant Agents

According to Sheep Esports, a maximum of $400,000 was receivable by each team for meeting their content goals which was followed by a mention of how this structure has been changing every year at the VCT and that the focus for the year 2025 was on in-game item sales.

“Since those are performing incredibly well thanks to the generosity of our fans. All in all, we expect significant growth in the total amount of money paid to teams by Riot, continuing the growth trajectory from the past three years,” a Riot spokesperson told Sheep Esports.

This has made a lot of teams participating in the VCT unhappy because of such short notice before such impactful revenue-affecting moves. What do you think? Will Riot eventually even shake down the entire $400,000 incentive next year or is the program here to stay, let us know!

Until then stay tuned to Talkesport for more such interesting updates from the Valorant universe.

Liquid Edge Past FURIA With 2-1 Win at IEM Cologne 2024 Play-In

Team Liquid has taken down FURIA Esports with a 2-1 series win at the upper-bracket finals of the play-in stage at IEM Cologne 2024, relegating the latter to the lower bracket where they’ll have to take on HEROIC. Here’s everything that went down in the BO3.

Map Veto

  • Liquid banned Vertigo
  • FURIA banned Ancient
  • Liquid picked Anubis
  • FURIA picked Nuke
  • Liquid banned Inferno
  • FURIA banned Dust2
  • Mirage was left over

Game 1: Anubis (Pick: Liquid, Win: FURIA, Final Score: 13-8)

In the pistol round, an incredible 4K by Yuri “yuurih” Santos gave FURIA the perfect start to their T-side on Anubis. Although Liquid answered by securing the force-buy, FURIA quickly responded with a force-buy of their own, breaking Liquid’s economy and stringing together several rounds. FURIA managed to extend their lead to a commanding 7-1. Liquid managed to win a couple of rounds before the end of the half, but FURIA still closed it out with a solid 9-3 advantage.

Liquid sought to close the gap between the two teams with a pistol-round win on the T-side. A failed force-buy attempt from FURIA enabled Liquid to put up six rounds on the board. Still, FURIA regained control by securing the first few buy rounds of the second half, ultimately closing out the game with a 13-8 victory.

Yuurih dominated the leaderboard in the first map of the series with a whopping 123.4 ADR and 26 kills.

Game 2: Nuke (Pick: FURIA, Win: Liquid, Final Score: 13-11)

After securing a win on their opponents’ map pick, FURIA started strong on the T-side, winning the first five rounds to take a 5-0 lead. However, Liquid wasn’t ready to give up easily. They fought back fiercely in the subsequent rounds, not conceding a single round for the remainder of the half. Liquid ended the half with a 7-5 lead on their CT side of Nuke.

Liquid managed to secure a pistol-round win to kick off the second half of Nuke but failed to convert the following round as the two teams proceeded to trade a few rounds back and forth.  Liquid eventually extended their lead to 12-8. Despite FURIA’s attempt to close the gap with three consecutive rounds, bringing the score to 12-11, Liquid secured the final round to clinch the match with a 13-11 victory.

Roland “ultimate” Tomkowiak was the star for Team Liquid in the second game, getting an impressive K/D of 21/13.

Game 3: Mirage (Win: Liquid, Final Score: 13-7)

Liquid got off to a dominant start on the CT side of Mirage due to a couple of failed force-buys from FURIA, taking the first eight rounds in a row to build an 8-0 lead over their opposition. Although FURIA managed to win a few rounds in response, Liquid was more than comfortable finishing the half with a commanding 9-3 lead.

Despite losing the final pistol round of the series, Liquid didn’t risk a force-buy on the second round, which enabled them to grab the first buy-round of the game without much hassle. FURIA tried to bounce back, grabbing the next couple of rounds before Liquid regained their composure to end the map with a 13-7 score and securing the series 2-1.

Roblox Banned in Turkey

0

Key Takeaways:

  • The Turkish government has banned Roblox, citing concerns over content moderation and the platform’s effectiveness in protecting young users from mature content and potential exploitation.
  • Criticisms have included issues with security measures and child labor, as well as a class-action lawsuit related to in-app purchases, though the core problems remain unresolved.
  • Allegations of virtual pedophilia networks using Robux, Roblox’s digital currency, have heightened concerns about child safety.
  • The ban was confirmed through a report and Roblox has acknowledged the verification with Turkish authorities.
  • The ban’s impact is significant, affecting both Roblox’s operations and its user community.

The Turkish government has banned one of the most popular gaming platforms, Roblox.

The platform has been scrutinized for a while over its content moderation policies, especially concerning the majority of the users being youth. Critics have always focused on the decline of the platform in terms of its security measures to separate kids from mature content and child labor.

Lawsuits compounded problems with the platform, especially with a class-action lawsuit overturning in-app purchases. Even though Roblox settled, the main issues were yet to be addressed.

Apart from this, there were claims of virtual pedophilia networks operating using Robux, the game’s primary digital currency, as a platform. The state’s legitimate response was to stress its concern over the risk to children that such activities pose in connection with the website.

The Turkish Government report of the ban finally met the public through Roblox, which also assured the ban’s verification with the Turkish authorities. As the event progresses, the side effects become larger for both Roblox and its community.

IShowSpeed Takes on 2024 Paris Olympic Athlete Ewa Swoboda’s Challenge

Popular YouTuber IShowSpeed was recently challenged by an Olympic track athlete and the YouTuber went on to accept the challenge!

IShowSpeed has been unhinged ever since the beginning when his one-of-a-kind shenanigans often broke the internet. He has been seen appearing at the Gloucestershire Cheese Rolling Competition 2024 ending in the fourth position and even managed to beat the fastest Norwegian national football player in a race!

Very recently Speed’s YouTube channel was banned due to a jump stunt that did not sit well with YouTube, but his relentless attitude has never stopped him from demonstrating his abilities out in the world, let alone a track course this time.

In a tweet that IShowSpeed posted where he claimed that “no point in life” has he ever lost a race, a 2024 Paris Olympics athlete – a track and field sprinter, Ewa Swoboda called him out with a challenge to the YouTuber mentioning that she’d “maybe run with him” considering he showed up in Poland and participated in the RMF FM radio contest.

She went on to add that “there will be a race at the Silesian Stadium, where the winners of the contest will run 100 meters with me, so maybe he still has time to sign up”

This deferred conversation between the two went on for a while post which IShowSpeed posted this on his Twitter handle:

He seems to have messaged the athlete asking “You wanna race me?” and has ever since not updated anyone on whether he has received a response. The community seems to be excited about how the RFM FM Radio contest is set to take place on August 24, 2024, where they expect this crazy crossover to grace everyone in reality.

We’ve got our fingers crossed for this crossover and hopefully you do too! Let us know what you think about this on our Instagram community and until then stay tuned to Talkesport!

Furia Wins the Brazilian Derby

The Brazilian derby in IEM Cologne play-ins had one of the best teams for the region in Furia facing Imperial who has impressed in their recent matches, especially after changing the season break.

VETO

  • Imperial removed Ancient
  • FURIA removed Anubis
  • Imperial picked Dust2
  • FURIA picked Nuke
  • Imperial removed Vertigo
  • FURIA removed Mirage
  • Inferno was left over

Map 1: Dust 2; Pick – Imperial; Winner – Imperial

Furia started their rival’s pick with a pistol round win and followed it up with another round upon which it was all Imperial as they went on to put together a streak of 9 rounds only letting one slip by their hands.

The story did not change in the second half as Imperial went on a winning streak to close out the map in no time. Imperial won the map with a strong 13-3 scoreline.

Map 2: Nuke; Pick – Furia; Winner – Furia

Following a disastrous defeat, Furia got back on their feet in their map pick. Having traded a few rounds earlier in the match they were able to put together a few rounds and movies onto the second half with a narrow 2-round lead.

While Furia couldn’t get comfortable in the second half but managed to scratch and claw their way to narrowly edge out fellow South Americans. Off the back of an amazing performance by FalleN, Furia took home their map pick with a 13-11 scoreline.

Map 3: Inferno; Pick – Decider; Winner – Furia

A complete shutdown by Furia. Little to say for Imperial as Furia ran a picture-perfect T side and cut no slacks for the pistol round that followed. A thorough and well-executed T side saw them take home 12 rounds in the first half and a quick pistol round win to seal a 13-0 victory over their rivals.
