GTA 6 Might Run On 30 FPS: Former Rockstar Developer

0

The gossip around GTA 6 continues, and a new rumor has surfaced, this time concerning its performance. Despite the anticipated graphical leap, whispers suggest the game might launch with a 30 FPS cap on consoles.

This information comes from Mike York, a former Rockstar Games animator with credits on titles like Red Dead Redemption 2 and GTA 5. In a now-deleted episode of the Kiwi Talkz podcast, York expressed doubt about Rockstar’s ability to achieve 60 FPS for GTA 6.

“I don’t know if they’ll be able to pull off 60 FPS,” York stated, suggesting a 30 FPS lock for consoles at launch. He speculated that this decision could be driven by the need for a stable frame rate, given the game’s expected visual complexity.

But from my experience, they’re going to squeeze every little freaking thing they can out of it and then optimize later for 60 frames because it’s not as important as just making the game amazing at 30 frames.

Mike York

York hinted that the frame rate might be improved through post-launch patches. He also raised the possibility of the rumored PS5 Pro achieving 60 FPS, though he emphasized that this is uncertain.

While York’s experience lends credence to the rumor, it’s important to remember that this isn’t official confirmation from Rockstar. Many gamers expect 60 FPS as a standard in modern titles, especially with the option to adjust settings. However, the sheer graphical fidelity of GTA 6 could indeed necessitate a lower initial frame rate. Whether Rockstar can optimize the game for 60 FPS remains to be seen.

Thankfully, Epic Games has given us a firm date for the end of this “Hunters” season.

When Does the Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1 End?

Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1

Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1 is set to conclude on February 21, 2025, at 2 AM Eastern Time. That gives you roughly 82 days to conquer all your seasonal goals. It’s a generous amount of time, especially considering this is the inaugural season of a brand-new chapter.

While February 21st is the official date, it’s worth remembering that game development isn’t an exact science. Epic has gotten much better at hitting its deadlines, but unexpected hiccups can still happen. So, while we’re optimistic, it’s always wise to take these dates with a grain of salt.

Once February 21st rolls around, we’ll officially be in Chapter 6 Season 2. Behind the scenes, Epic is already busy working on what’s coming next. Data miners have even uncovered glimpses of future Chapter 6 content buried in the game files, which is a good sign that they’re on track.

Big Beats Heroic, Advances to IEM Katowice Stage 2

BIG Clan has outclassed Heroic in the Play-in stage of IEM Katowice, beating the in-form Danish side with a 2-0 scoreline shocking the CS community given their stark difference in form coming into the tournament.

VETO

  • HEROIC removed Inferno
  • BIG removed Anubis
  • HEROIC picked Nuke
  • BIG picked Ancient
  • HEROIC removed Dust2
  • BIG removed Mirage
  • Train was left over

Map 1: Nuke; Pick: HEROIC ; Winner: BIG

It’s an unexpectedly good start for BIG coming into Nuke which is arguably the best map for Heroic. BIG managed to get a read on everything Heroic threw at them, putting up countermeasures at every step. Heroic barely managed to get a bite of the cherry as a BIG did not let more than one round go their way and switched the half with an 11-1 scoreline. Heroic managed to win the pistol round on the CT side but BIG soon bounced back with a force buy conversion winning the map 13-2.

Map 2: Ancient; Pick: BIG; Winner: BIG

While BIG looked dominant on the first of Nuke, they built upon said dominance to go 12-0 up as Heroic’s defense was rendered completely useless by tabseN calling a highly dynamic and well-coordinated offense. Having failed to secure a single round, Heroic had no room for error walking into the second half as their qualification was up in the air. BIG managed to let a few rounds slip at the beginning of the second half but Heroic couldn’t manage any more than 4 rounds and thus won the series dominating one of the most in-form teams coming into the event.

Astralis Eliminates FlyQuest in IEM Katowice Play-in

Astralis has managed to qualify for the next round of IEM Katowice eliminating FlyQuest after a tough battle that took all the rounds in the 3rd map to decide a winner. Astralis despite struggling manages to overcome a tricky opponent but tougher contests await them in the following stages.

Veto

  • Astralis removed Anubis
  • FlyQuest removed Mirage
  • Astralis picked Train
  • FlyQuest picked Ancient
  • Astralis removed Dust2
  • FlyQuest removed Nuke
  • Inferno was left over

Map 1: Train; Pick: Astralis; Winner: FlyQuest

Astralis kicked off the match with FlyQuest posting a dominant pistol round which gave them a good lead but the Danes did not manage to get more than two rounds in the first half. FlyQuest defense managed to keep up with their firepower with some teamwork thrown into the mix to ensure dev1ce and co. did not manage to get it going. Astralis pulled 3 rounds on the defense off the back of the pistol round win but FlyQuest wasted no time in closing the map out to close out the map.

Map 2: Ancient; Pick: FlyQuest; Winner:Astralis

Following a devastating defeat on their map pick, Astralis bounced back on Ancient. Starting strong, FlyQuest failed to penetrate the defense in only one round. FlyQuest managed to win the final round of the first half as Astralis went on the offense with 11 rounds to their name. FlyQuest managed to post 6 rounds in a row to start the second half but Astralis did not let the lead narrow down any further as they closed the map with a 13-6 scoreline.

Map 3: Inferno; Pick: Decider; Winner:Astralis

Arguably the closest map of the series, with both teams trading rounds and eventually closing the first half with a levelled scoreline making the first half one of the most intriguing matches of the series. The second half posed to be another close affair but Astralis managed to edge out the Australians after a tough fight winning the game barely with a 13-11 scoreline.

Mark your calendars: the Future Stars event kicks off on Friday, January 31, 2025, coinciding with the official end of Team of the Year. While the exact duration remains unconfirmed, a two-week run, similar to the FC 24 edition, is anticipated. For those unfamiliar, Future Stars spotlights the brightest young talents in football. Since its debut in FIFA 19 Ultimate Team, this promo has offered a tantalizing glimpse into the future of the sport. Imperial Signs chayJESUS to Replace felps

0

Imperial has officially welcomed Richard “chayJESUS” Seidy to their Counter-Strike roster, securing the player from Fluxo, both organizations confirmed. This acquisition fills the gap left by João “felps” Vasconcellos, who transferred to RED Canids earlier this month.

chayJESUS’s journey with Fluxo began in October 2023 after a transfer from Sharks. He spent ten months as a core member of the starting lineup before being benched in favor of Kayke “kye” Bertolucci. Following his time on the bench, he competed in online tournaments with Tropa do Taco, alongside familiar names like Epitacio “TACO” de Melo and Vinicius “vsm” Moreira.

Imperial is banking on this roster change to revitalize the team, particularly after a lackluster end to their 2024 season. Their early exit from the Shanghai Major, finishing 0-3 in the Opening Stage with losses to paiN, FURIA, and Complexity, was a significant setback.

Fans won’t have to wait long to see chayJESUS in action for Imperial. He’s set to debut later this Thursday in the Round of 16 of CCT Season 2 South America Series 6 against Bad News Chickens.

Imperial’s current roster now consists of:

  • Vinicius “VINI” Figueiredo
  • Lucas “decenty” Bacelar
  • Kaiky “noway” Santos
  • Santino “try” Rigal
  • Richard “chayJESUS” Seidy
  • Rafael “zakk” Fernandes (coach)
