New CSGO Update Fixes Mirage One-Way Smoke Bug During PGL Major

If you’ve been following the PGL Antwerp Major for the past few days, then you’re probably already aware of the infamous one-way smoke bug that has been haunting the tournament participants over the past few days.

The bug was first used by G2’s mONSEY against Imperial during a match on May 14. Since then, the clip was quick to spread like wildfire on social media platforms, where fans of the shooter and professional players asked Valve to fix the bug at the earliest.

The one-way smoke bug allowed players to see through the Mirage window towards mid while their enemies couldn’t see the other way around.

Luckily, Valve has listened to the players, and they have swiftly shipped out an update to the live servers that fixed this problem.

The patch notes for the May 15th CSGO update simply reads, “fixed a recently reported smoke bug.” No other new addition has been made to the title through the latest patch.

Moving forward in the tournament, teams participating in the PGL major will no longer be able to use the smoke bug to gain an unfair competitive advantage over their opponents.

Skyesports Champions Series Draw Show Recap

For the first time in the history of Indian Valorant E-sports, we saw the group draw for a tournament live on Youtube, the show was hosted by MambaSR and Captain price and they drafted each of these 12 teams into two groups, out of which 6 teams would make it to the main event in Chennai giving them an opportunity to represent our region in VCT APAC challengers season 2.

Initially, the teams were divided into three pools A, B, and C. Pool A and B consisted of the invited teams which were the top 8 teams of VCC, where the top 4 were part of Pool A and the bottom 4 made the pool B. Pool C was comprised of four qualifying teams from India and RoSA qualifiers.

Qualified 12 teams:

Draft Results:

  • From Pool C; Valor Gaming and Prime 5 into Group A and Orangutan and Reckoning Esports into group B
  • From Pool B; Revenant Esports and Khumbu are part of Group A and Union Gaming and Excelli Gaming are drafted into Group B
  • From Pool A; Enigma Gaming and Global Esports are part of Group A and Velocity Gaming and Fullpower Gaming made into group B.

The groups seem to have a nice balance and anyone out of these 12 can qualify for the Chennai Lan event.

Final bracket teams:

The group stage would be a round-robin where every team would play every other team in the group and the top 3 teams from each group would qualify for the LAN event which would be a double-elimination bracket type tournament.

The top 2 teams of the event would then qualify for VCT APAC season 2 Challengers for a chance to qualify for VCT Masters Copenhagen. Good luck to all the teams and may the best team win the whole event.

Valorant: Xeta departs C9B; joins T1

0

Last night after the inaugural match of the season for Cloud9 Blue, it was announced that Son “Xeta” Seon-he with head coach Yoon “Autumn” Eu-ddeum have departed from Cloud 9 blue and would be joining T1 and Rahul “Curry” Nemani would now fill in as the fifth for C9B instead of Xeta for the remaining matches in the VCT NA stage 2 challengers.

This sent shockwaves across the community as Xeta was an integral part of C9B since joining the team back in January of 2021 after a brief stint on C9 Korea valorant team along with coach autumn.

Tarik reacting to Xeta’s move:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d34o-hEd_gg
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=29jse0_3KfU

He was part of their NA LCQ winning roster with Vanity, Leaf, Xeppa, and Mitch and had a solid run in the First Valorant Champions and are arguably one of the best if not the best NA teams in the current VCT season.

The move was a shock for most as the team chemistry of C9B was amazing and translated well on the server.

This was evident in the first VCT NA challengers as C9B was undefeated in the group stage winning against teams like the Guard, Xset, 100 thieves, Luminosity, and EG, falling to the youngsters of The Guard who then went on to win the whole event beating C9B and Optic 3-0 and Xeta was the key player in the success of C9B, who is arguably the best sova player in NA right now and a valuable initiator.

Though the reason behind the move is unclear It is speculated that T1, which is a South Korean super giant having a legendary LoL team, is eyeing an all-Korean valorant team and might contest next year in Korea.

Xeta however comfortable he was with C9B felt homesick and wished to play with a Korean team, at this point, there has been no official statement from either side as to why the move did happen, but on the outside, the roster move seems to be mutual and both parties seem to have separated with peace.

The gap left by Xeta in C9B is to be filled with Rahul “Curry” Nemani, a 19 y.o., who was part of T1 since January February 2021, the roster had many big names including CS legends Timothy “Autimatic” Ta who has now returned to CSGO, Tyler “Skadoodle” Latham who currently isn’t actively competing and Braxton “Brax” Pierce who has since moved to streaming under the T1 banner.

The latest version of T1 included Joshua “Steel” Nissan, Zander “thwifo” Kim, Rahul “Curry” Nemani, Josh “pwny” Vangorder, and a stand-in “dynamic” and failed to produce any significant results as a team.

The team is currently in the rebuilding phase and would be able to play for Valorant-sponsored events in 2023 as they don’t have enough points to qualify for NA LCQ.

The new iteration of Cloud9 Blue is set to make its debut this week against Optic Gaming who are arguably not just the best NA team but the best team in the world after winning Masters Reykjavík, this match would surely be a trial by fire for Curry and the new-look C9B. It would be interesting to see the role switch in C9B as Curry was a flex player on T1 whilst Xeta played a “SOVA MAIN”.

The roster move received a lot of backlashes and was frowned upon as there didn’t seem any major problems with the roster and the roster seemed to do well. Now the responsibility of proving the naysayers wrong falls upon Vanity the IGL for C9B and Curry to prove his worth. Only time would tell how the move pans out. For now, we wish the best to both parties moving forward.

BMPS 2022 Season One to have highest prize pool in Indian esports history

Krafton has raised the bar of Indian esports by providing the highest ever prize pool dedicated to a single tournament. The upcoming Battlegrounds Mobile India Pro Series Season One will have a humongous prize pool of ₹2 Crore($256,000) and a total of 24 teams fighting to take the lion’s share from it.

BMPS Season One is the next tournament in the BGMI Esports Season One roadmap and top teams within India, who have fought a long way through BMOC 2022, will finally have a chance to prove their worth in a month long tournament.

The overall prize pool of tournaments in India was not par with the money offered in other regions but in the last few years, the scenario has been changing. The launch of PUBG Mobile was a big turning point for Indian esports as India emerged as one of the major regions within its competitive ecosystem.

The prize money skyrocketed with the rising popularity of PUBG Mobile and soon, it reached ₹1 Crore mark before the game was banned. After a hiatus of almost 1.5 years, the competition is back in a new game called BGMI and the amount hasn’t decreased at all.

The first ever BGMI tournament matched the amount of ₹1 Crore and now, the money has been doubled for BMPS Season One.

This tournament is certainly worth the hype because most of the well-known teams are already out of this tournament, giving a chance to new rosters to shine.
