If there’s anything that CSGO fans have been asking for more than the Source 2 upgrade, it‘s the implementation of 128 tick servers to the competitive mode. However, it looks like Valve may have listened to its fans as hints towards a possible server upgrade have been found in the Operation Broken Fang missions.

Operation Broken Fang requires players to complete a number of missions every week to earn stars that can be used to exchange for in-game items. One such mission is a co-op quest that takes place on the ‘Autumn Harvest’ map. Players who have spent time exploring the map have found out that every single radio on the map is tuned to a specific channel – 128.

Even the radios that are facing upside down is tuned in to channel 128, which can certainly not be a coincidence.

This has led fans to speculate about 128 tick servers coming to CSGO in a future update.

While this hasn’t been confirmed by Valve as of yet, Cloud9’s Henry “HenryG” Greer had hinted at this change long ago during ESL One Road to Rio in April 2020.

It seems reasonable, though, for Valve to add 128 tick servers to their title now. CSGO’s primary rival in the genre, Valorant, already boasts 128 tick servers – a fact that has led many players to switch to Riot’s competitive shooter from CSGO.
