OWCS Midseason Championship 2026 Begins in Paris With 16 Teams Fighting for Glory

The OWCS Midseason Championship 2026 officially began on July 29 in Paris, France, bringing 16 of the world’s best Overwatch 2 teams together for one of the biggest tournaments of the 2026 competitive season.

The tournament is being held at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles as part of the Esports World Cup, with a $1 million prize pool on the line. The competition runs from July 29 to August 2.

16 Teams Battle for the OWCS Midseason Title

Teams qualified for the Midseason Championship through regional competition across Asia, China, North America and EMEA. The field includes some of the biggest names in competitive Overwatch, including Crazy Raccoon, ZETA DIVISION, T1, Team Falcons, Twisted Minds, Weibo Gaming, Virtus.pro and Spacestation Gaming.

The tournament’s opening stage features two groups of eight teams. The first three days use a double-elimination format, with matches played as first-to-two series. The top four teams from each group will advance to the eight-team playoff bracket.

OWCS Midseason Championship Day 1 Results

The opening day immediately delivered several notable results.

ZETA DIVISION defeated VARREL 2-0, while Crazy Raccoon beat Team Secret 2-0. Geekay Esports also opened their campaign with a 2-0 victory over All Gamers.

Elsewhere, Spacestation Gaming edged JD Gaming 2-1, while Twisted Minds upset T1 2-1 in one of the day’s most notable results. Weibo Gaming defeated Team Liquid 2-1, Virtus.pro swept 9z Team 2-0, and Team Falcons beat Dallas Fuel 2-0.

The results give the competition an early storyline, but there is still plenty of Overwatch 2 action to come. With the group stage continuing through July 31, teams will need consistency to secure one of the eight available playoff spots.

For Overwatch esports fans, the Paris event represents another opportunity to see the strongest teams from around the world compete on the international stage.
