The road to the BGMI International Cup (BMIC) 2026 continues in Japan, where 16 teams are competing in the PUBG Mobile Japan League (PMJL) Season 6 Phase 2. The tournament is especially important because the top five teams will qualify for BMIC 2026.
PMJL Season 6 Phase 2 is being played from September 4 to October 11, 2026. Along with five BMIC spots, the tournament also offers a direct route to the PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC) 2026, as the champion will qualify for the PMGC Group Stage.
Five Japan Teams Will Qualify for BMIC 2026
Japan has been allocated five spots at BMIC 2026. The final standings of PMJL Season 6 Phase 2 will decide all five representatives.
The qualification is simple:
| PMJL Finish | Qualification |
|---|---|
| 1st | PMGC 2026 Group Stage + BMIC 2026 |
| 2nd | BMIC 2026 |
| 3rd | BMIC 2026 |
| 4th | BMIC 2026 |
| 5th | BMIC 2026 |
This means finishing inside the top five will be the main target for teams looking to represent Japan at BMIC.

PMJL Season 6 Phase 2 features 16 teams. Eight teams came from Phase 1, while the remaining eight qualified through PMOT 2026 Phase 2.
The competition runs for three weeks. Each week is divided into two rounds: the Ladder Round and Main Round.
The Ladder Round is played every Friday and features three matches. Teams receive Ladder Points based on their final ranking.
The Main Round is then played across Saturday and Sunday. Teams compete in 12 matches, with six matches played each day.

India, Korea and Japan Meet at BMIC 2026
Japan’s five qualified teams will eventually meet teams from India and South Korea at BMIC 2026.
India will send six teams, with the top six from BMSD 2026 earning qualification. Japan will send five teams through PMJL Season 6 Phase 2, while the remaining five places in the 16-team tournament are allocated to South Korea.
On the Korean side, Dplus and NS RedForce have already qualified, while the ongoing PUBG Mobile Pro Series Korea will play an important role in completing the Korean representation.
That gives BMIC 2026 its full regional structure: six teams from India, five from Japan and five from South Korea.
The battle for Japan’s five BMIC 2026 slots will conclude on October 11, when PMJL Season 6 Phase 2 ends.
For the 16 Japanese teams, there is plenty at stake. Finishing inside the top five means a ticket to BMIC 2026, while winning the entire tournament also gives the champion a direct place in the PMGC 2026 Group Stage.
Once PMJL concludes, Indian fans will know which five Japanese teams could face India’s BMSD representatives at BMIC 2026.
