100 Thieves have won the VALORANT tournament at the Esports World Cup 2026 after defeating NRG 3-1 in the Grand Final on July 12. The victory gives 100 Thieves their first major international VALORANT title and a $600,000 prize.
The Grand Final in Paris featured an all-American matchup between two of the strongest teams in the tournament. NRG entered the series looking to add another international trophy, while 100 Thieves were aiming to complete an unbeaten run through the competition.
100 Thieves Take Early Control
The series began on Breeze, NRG’s map pick. However, 100 Thieves quickly established control and finished the map with a 13-7 victory.
100 Thieves continued their momentum on Sunset. After building an advantage early in the map, they closed it out 13-6 to move one map away from the championship. Cryocells was particularly effective on the second map, producing a strong individual performance as 100 Thieves took a 2-0 lead.
NRG refused to go quietly. On Haven, the team responded emphatically, winning 13-2 and forcing the Grand Final onto a fourth map.
100 Thieves Close Out the Final
Ascent became the decisive battleground. NRG started strongly and held a 9-3 lead at halftime, putting 100 Thieves under significant pressure.
The series then turned around. 100 Thieves fought back round by round, eventually leveling the score and forcing overtime. They completed the comeback by winning Ascent 14-12, securing the series 3-1 and the EWC VALORANT championship.
The victory earned 100 Thieves $600,000 in prize money and 1,000 Esports World Cup Club Championship points. Peter “Asuna” Mazuryk also secured his first major international VALORANT trophy after spending more than five years with the organization.
A Major Moment for 100 Thieves
The EWC title represents a significant achievement for 100 Thieves’ VALORANT division. The team entered the tournament as one of the invited international contenders and ultimately finished the event at the top of a 16-team field.
For NRG, the 3-1 defeat ends their EWC campaign as runners-up. For 100 Thieves, however, July 12 will be remembered as the day they finally lifted a major international VALORANT trophy.
