Free Games October 2026: Every PC Game You Can Claim on Epic, Steam and Prime (Luna)

Epic, Steam and Amazon's Luna are all handing out free PC games this October. Here's every one you can keep, when each offer ends in PT and IST, and what unlocks next.

Free games in October 2026 are spread across three storefronts, and the deadlines don’t line up. Epic swaps its freebies every Thursday. Steam has one full game and two DLC packs up for grabs, all ending within days of each other. Amazon, which now runs its Prime freebies through Luna, drops two new games every Thursday and lets you redeem them on Epic, GOG or the Amazon Games app.

This guide lists everything that is free to keep right now, what unlocks next, and the exact cutoff for each offer in PT, ET and IST. We’ll update it as Epic reveals each new weekly pair.

All Free Games in October 2026 at a Glance

This table covers every free-to-keep offer we could confirm as of October 10, 2026. Free weekends, where you can play but not keep the game, sit in their own section further down.

Epic Games Store Free Games for October 2026

Epic has given away two PC games every week this month, and the weekly reset happens on Thursday at 8 AM PT (11 AM ET, 8:30 PM IST). Claim a game once and it stays in your library, even after the offer ends. Most of these also run on Linux through Proton, and Epic’s own plans there are moving too, with a native Linux version of the Epic Games launcher now confirmed.

WeekFree gamesList price

Oct 15 to Oct 22 (next)Agent A: A Puzzle in Disguise, Bad Cheese$19.99 + $12.99

If you missed Nightdive’s System Shock 2 remaster last week, it’s gone. That one hurt.

Out of Sight

Out of Sight is a horror puzzle game where you play Sophie, a young blind girl trapped in a dark mansion. She sees the world through her teddy bear’s eyes, so you control the bear’s view and her movement at the same time. OpenCritic’s write-up calls it a rare second-person game. It’s $14.99 normally.

TerraScape

TerraScape is a much calmer pick. You build medieval towns on floating islands, and buildings score more when you place them in the right combinations. It has several modes and costs $16.99 outside the giveaway.

Coming October 15: Agent A and Bad Cheese

Epic confirmed the next pair alongside the current one, as reported by Worthplaying. Agent A: A Puzzle in Disguise is Yak & Co’s spy-themed escape-room game, and Bad Cheese is a cartoon horror game drawn in a rubber-hose style. Both go live at 8 AM PT on October 15 and stay free until October 22.

Epic’s mobile store has its own freebie this week too. The Big Con, a road-trip comedy about a teenage con artist in 1990s America, is free on mobile until October 15. Mobile availability depends on your region and device.

Steam Free-to-Keep Games in October 2026

Steam’s list is shorter, and the clock is tighter. Pony Island goes back to full price on Monday, October 12, at 10 AM PT, which is 1 PM ET or 10:30 PM IST.

Developer Daniel Mullins Games, the studio behind Inscryption, made the 2016 original free on the same day it showed a trailer and opened a playtest for the sequel, Pony Island 2: Panda Circus. According to iXBT Games, the sequel is dated for April 27, 2027. Pony Island looks like a cheap arcade cabinet built by the devil. It isn’t. Play it before you read anything else about it.

pony island steam page

To grab it, open the Pony Island Steam page and press “Add to Account” in the purchase box. Games claimed this way don’t drop Steam trading cards.

The other two Steam offers are DLC, and both end October 15 at 10 AM PT:

  • Rotwood: Drakin Armoury Pack ($4.99) from Klei Entertainment adds a playable Drakin race, a greatsword, new mini-bosses and armor sets. You need Rotwood to play it.
  • MXGP 26: Scrubdesignz Liveries ($1.99) is a cosmetic livery pack. You can claim it without owning MXGP 26 and it will be waiting if you buy the base game later.

Grabbing a DLC for a game you don’t own costs nothing. If MXGP 26 ever lands in a sale, the liveries are already there.

Prime Gaming (Amazon Luna) Free Games for October 2026

Amazon now lists its monthly Prime freebies under Luna, though the perk works the same way as old Prime Gaming. Claim the game on the Luna site with your Prime account, then redeem it on the store Amazon names. Amazon doesn’t hand out Steam keys, so Steam Deck owners will need a launcher like Heroic to play the Epic and GOG copies.

Two games unlock every Thursday in October. Here is the full schedule:

The month leans hard into Halloween. Into the Pit is Mega Cat Studios’ pixel-art spin on Five Nights at Freddy’s, Conarium is a Lovecraft-inspired horror game from Zoetrope Interactive, and Ad Infinitum is a World War I nightmare from Hekate. DOOM (2016) is the obvious headliner. id Software’s reboot still holds an Overwhelmingly Positive rating on Steam, and it’s a good warm-up if you caught the Fortnite DOOM collab trailer and want the real thing.

Caravan SandWitch is the one we’d claim even if you skip the horror. It’s a gentle exploration game from Studio Plane Toast, and it unlocks on October 15.

Free games with Prime are region-locked. Before you sign up for anything, check that your country’s Prime plan includes the Luna game claims.

September Luna games you can still claim

A few of September’s Prime games haven’t expired yet. NerdZap’s tracker lists High on Life and Hue on Epic, plus Havendock and The Da Vinci Cryptex in the Amazon Games app, as claimable until October 28. DOOM Eternal and Wall World 2 (both Amazon Games app) end sooner, on October 21. Botany Manor, Drop Duchy and the DOOM + DOOM II bundle close on October 14.

Steam Free Weekends This Month (Play, Don’t Keep)

These are trials. You can download and play the full game for a few days, but it locks again when the event ends unless you buy it. Vice’s free weekend roundup lists three right now:

GameFree play endsSale
ARC RaidersOct 12, 1 AM PT50% off until Oct 15
Core KeeperOct 12, 10 AM PT40% off until Oct 22
Squad 44Oct 13, 10 AM PT70% off until Oct 15

Your progress usually carries over if you buy the game afterwards. Check the store page to be sure.

How to Claim Free Games Before They Expire

Claiming takes under a minute on each store, but the steps differ:

  1. Epic Games Store: Sign in, open the Epic free games page, pick the game and check out at $0.00.
  2. Steam: Open the game’s store page and press “Add to Account.” The game shows up in your library right away.
  3. Luna (Prime): Sign in with your Prime account, press “Claim,” then do whatever the game’s card asks: connect your Epic account, copy a GOG code, or open the Amazon Games app.

Once a game is in your library, you own it. Deadline missed? Then it’s gone, and you’ll have to pay the full price later.

If none of this month’s list grabs you, Xbox players have their own pile of releases. Our breakdown of every game out on October 9, including whether Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen is on Game Pass, covers that side.

Frequently Asked Questions

What games are free on Epic right now?

Out of Sight and TerraScape are free on the Epic Games Store until October 15, 2026, at 8 AM PT (8:30 PM IST). Agent A: A Puzzle in Disguise and Bad Cheese take over from that moment until October 22.

Is Pony Island really free to keep on Steam?

Yes. Add it to your account before October 12, 2026, at 10 AM PT and it stays in your Steam library permanently. You won’t get trading cards from the free copy.

Do I need Prime to claim the Luna free games?

Does Amazon give Steam keys for Prime games?

No. October’s games redeem on the Epic Games Store, GOG, Legacy Games or the Amazon Games app. None of them come as Steam keys.

When does Epic announce the next free games?

Epic reveals the following week’s pair every Thursday, at the same time the current pair goes live. The October 22 lineup should appear on October 15.
