The countdown is followed by a random pause, so GO cannot be timed. Your screen, mouse and browser add a few milliseconds of delay; compare scores on the same device. Your best is saved on this device only.
How the reaction time test works
After you start a round, the panel waits for a random delay before turning yellow, so you can’t predict it. The time from yellow to your click is your reaction time in milliseconds (ms). Click before yellow and the round doesn’t count; just try it again. After five rounds you get your average and your fastest round.
What is a good reaction time?
Most people score somewhere between 200 and 300 ms on a test like this. Our ranks: Legend under 180 ms, Diamond under 210, Platinum under 240, Gold under 275, Silver under 320, and Bronze above that.
Your equipment matters. Screen refresh rate, mouse and browser each add a few milliseconds, and a phone screen usually reads slower than a gaming monitor. Compare scores on the same device.
How to improve your reaction time
- Sleep well and warm up before you play; reaction time drops when you’re tired.
- Play on a high refresh rate monitor if you have one.
- Keep your finger resting on the button, not hovering above it.
- Practise regularly, and try our CPS test between rounds.
