Newbee are your Nanyang Dota 2 Champions

Nanyang Dota 2 Championships

Newbee are your Nanyang Dota 2 champions after defeating Wings Gaming in an amazing best of five grand finals.

Both Chinese teams ending up being in the grand finals is a wake up call for all the Western and American teams. Wings Gaming and Newbee are showing the potential to be a threat to all other teams participating at The International 6.

Game Analysis of the Grand Finals of Nanyang Dota 2 Championships.

Game 1

nanyang dota 2 championships - game 1

With a fresh mind and a goal to win the Nanyang dota 2 championships Wings gaming pulls off a pushing lineup Including DK and beastmaster with Necro’s healing power.

The basic goal of wings gaming here was to achieve a tier 3 push by minute 25 by securing their early game. Wings gaming even after securing first blood in the game, Terrorblade was able to get 3 kills on the safe lane which eventually allowed him to start fighting early and stick with the team as five. This allowed newbee to dodge the 5 man death ball push comming out from wings gaming and they were able to secure the game one in a long 52 mins run.

Game 2

nanyang dota 2 championships - game 2

This time things were a bit different from both the sides.

Team Newbee decides to get their hands on to a push lineup including Terrorblade – Dazzle lane and also a Death Prophet in the middle lane. With this 3 picks the push can be scary for any teams losing team fights. Wings Gaming here decides to grab a 4th pick Warlock which is actually forgotten in the meta and grabbing Luna as their last pick which completely surprised the Newbee line up with the damage amplifications by Shadow Demon and Elder Titan.

Game 3

nanyang dota 2 championships - game 3

This time newbee tries to adapt Wings Gaming’s line up by denying the picks and picking that heros insted namely – luna, Dk and Beastmaster as jungle position 4. The push lineup however didn’t work against shadows morphling who dominated the game with a score of 17/1/1 i.e a KDA of 18.

Game 4
Newbee are your Nanyang Dota 2 Champions

Wings Gaming was one step away from be crowned as the Nanyang Dota 2 Champions for Season 2 but newbee came out with an aggressive trio at  the bottom lane. With strong dual core line up of Naga Siren and Weaver, Newbee was able to pull out the game and go to the decider game 5.

Game 5

Newbee are your Nanyang Dota 2 Champions 2

The final game – One who wins takes it all.

This game had some questionable bans by Wings gaming such as viper and medusa.

Since the team decided to pick up Alchemist y would they not ban AA. Picking up 3 invisible heros and not banning up slardar was also a bit questionable from Wings Gaming Side. With a classic drow and huskar at the front line while io overpowering him. Newbee had the game in the bag in 36:19 minutes.

Many of the Western teams have withdrawn from the tournament due to some reasons but its now open that this year Chinese teams will be taking the things to the next level to claim the Agies of Championships at The International 6.

Astralis beats Dignitas, Flipside sends NiP home

The Day 3 of the ESL One Cologne 2016 started with the match between Astralis and dignitas. All the matches on the Day 3 was in a BO3 format. The first map that was decided to be played was Cobblestone.

Astralis started on the CT-side and with the help of ‘karrigan’s three pistol round picks they secured the round. However dignitas replied right afterwards, winning the force buy. Astralis were leading 4-1, until ‘Xyp9x’ picked some important kills for his team to build up the momentum and from then Astralis closed the first half with a scoreline of 10-5. In the second half Astralis with their T-side execution picked up the pistol round and won the following rounds and made the score 13-5. Despite of all this, dignitas came back into the game and won some important rounds and then ‘konfig’ clutched a 1v4 keeping his team alive and dignitas later tied the map at 14-14. The match went into overtime and dignitas finished the first overtime half 17-16 ahead. Triple kill by ‘Tenzki’ in the second half overtime helped dignitas close the map 19-16.

The second map of the match was Mirage and dignitas started on the CT- side and picked up the first round, however they couldn’t stop Astralis in the following rounds and Astralis led the game 7-1. Dignitas tried hard to comeback into the game but astralis pulled off the first half with a scoreline of 13-2. In the second half, dignitas started to again comeback in the game just like the previous map but failed this time and Astralis closed the second map 16-10.

The third and the final map of the match was Cache and things started pretty well for dignitas as ‘Tenzki’ helped them secure the pistol round. Dignitas also won the gun round and were leading the map 5-0, until ‘Xyp9x’ clutched an important round for his team and Astralis came back into the game and closed the first half with a scoreline of 9-6. In the second half pistol round ‘Rubino’ clutched the round and made the score to 9-7 but with the kills coming from ‘Xyp9x’ and ‘Karrigan’ there was no one who could stop them so they closed the map 16-14 and the series 2-1 and advanced to the quarterfinals.

The second match of the ESL One Cologne 2016 was between Ninjas in Pyjamas and Flipsde. The first map that was decided to be played was Overpass.

In the first pistol round ‘Get_right’ picked some important kills and help his team secure the round. Later on Flipsde won a pistol round with the help of ‘waylander’ who picked up three kills from his five seven but were trailing behind 6-2. NiP didn’t let them get any closer and kills from ‘Xizt’ and ‘pyth’ helped them close the first half with a scoreline of 10-5. In the second half Flipside won the pistol round with an B-site execution and then equalizing the score at 10-10. Later on ‘Get_right’ with his CT Side holds made his team climb to the match point with a 15-11 score. Flipside again tried to pull off some rounds and comeback into the game but it just wasn’t sufficient and they lost the map 14-16.

The second map of the match was Cache that was NiP’s pick. Surprisingly Flipside won the first pistol round and then dominated the Ninjas throughout the map, getting kills all over the map Flipside had a full control over the map and leaded in the map 14-1 in the first map. Nip somehow managed to win the second half pistol round but then Flipside’s pistol buy on the second round saw them pick off Nip members and win the force closing out the map 16-2 and moving to the third map.

The third map of the match was Mirage and things started pretty well for Flipside as they won their first pistol round with a A-site take and secured the round. NiP somehow managed to win the gun round but Flipside made a force and again increased their lead to 6-1. NiP picked up some important rounds but trailed behind at the end of the first half with a score of 7-8. In the second half pistol round with the help of ‘markeloff’ and ‘worldedit’ they secured the pistol round but later NiP replied them back by winning the first gun round. Later on ‘Waylander’ picked some very important kills for his team which led Flipside take a lead at 14-11 and then closed down the map with a scoreline of 16-11 eliminating NiP from the tournament.

SK Gaming wins major, two in a row now

The Brazilian side doesn’t seem to be stopping as they have managed to win another CS:GO major, making it two in a row now. SK Gaming beat Liquid 2-0 (16-7 on train and 16-6 on cobblestone) in the grand finals at the LANXESS Arena which was more of like an one-sided affair.

Soon after their signing of the new organization, they had a questionable fate coming their way after being predicted about their loss after fnatic’s full return in the majors. Fnatic, who were the favorites, however, got eliminated in the semi-finals to Liquid, making it grand finals SK Gaming vs Luminosity.

SK Gaming wins major

SK Gaming wins major

The Brazilian side eventually, did manage to close the best-of-three regular series of the major grand final 2-0 in favor of them, which makes the defending champions to conquer the title of the best team in the world yet again after their promising run at MLG Columbus earlier this year.

FalleN and co. had to prove a lot after their controversial signing to SK, definitely they had things going their way but with tons of pressure from the speculations and them choosing to show their back to Luminosity organization certainly raised some questions. But they were able to put all of them down and eventually, winning the major title even with the new organization proving a lot about their individual skill. SK Gaming has now been titled as the best Counter Strike: Global Offensive team in the world, just after 7 days of signing their new roster.

Team Liquid to face SK in ESL One Cologne 2016 finals, fnatic disappoints

Team Liquid beat fnatic 2-0 in the second semi-finals of day, this surely has been recorded as the most unexpected upset ever in a major. Liquid will play SK tomorrow and battle for the title of world’s best CS:GO team.

Fnatic has been eliminated by Liquid which turns out to be the most unexpected of the result all-time, even though with the return of Olofmeister and Dennis being in form, the swedes were not able to win a single map in the major. Liquid, which is famous for being shaky and not composed during the time when it matters, completely shut down all the trolls and trekked their victory up the hills, making it their dream alive of being in a finals of a major.

Being knocked out 0-2 from a major was not even in fnatic’s worst nightmares as they lost to Team Liquid, who are supposedly famous for choking during the important times. Spiriting against the odds of the analysts and fundamentals, Team Liquid showed that they can keep the NA dream alive if not Cloud9. The best performer of the match was the dual performance by S1mple and Elige where their existence in the team definitely paid massive dividends as they were going head-to-head and winning battles against who were supposedly called the best team in the world. Team Liquid will face the defending champions tomorrow, and judging by the factors and different aspects from the performance of Liquid, it seems like SK Gaming has a tough competition coming their way.

SK advances to finals over Virtus.Pro

The first semi-finals of ESL One Cologne 2016 between Virtus.pro and SK were vetoed from a quite robust though as the maps were cobblestone, nuke, and cache which nobody going right on the prediction. SK won the best of three series (17-19 on Cobblestone, 16-5 on Nuke, and 16-12 on Mirage) by beating consecutive on the last two maps.

The first half of cobblestone where Virtus.Pro started as counter-terrorists, the less favorable side of the map, they lost the first three rounds straight after falling down to the Brazilian side in the pistol rounds and followed by the anti-eco’s. TaZ, however, showed how it is done when he took down 4 of the SK side in a buy round followed by an Ace in the next round when they were eco. A total of 10 kills in 3 rounds on the connector side. Regardless of aggressive plays by SK, FalleN failed to create an impact as he was missing important entry kill, which was covered by TACO 2k’ing into the B bombsite and winning the round making it 6-4.

Virtus. Pro took a decent win in the first map.

Regardless of aggressive plays by SK, FalleN failed to create an impact as he was missing important entry kill, which was covered by TACO 2k’ing into the B bombsite and winning the round making it 6-4, approaching the further rounds SK dealt with a good cleanup equalizing it to a 6-6 scoreline even though pasha gets a 3K from nowhere.

TaZ, however, assisted a couple of more kills making it his 18, closing down the half at 9-6 favoring the Polish on the CT side of a T-favored map. SK made their way back to the dominating side after taking the pistol round once again making the score 10-9 in their favor with the following gun round. Pasha, in no mood for taking the defeat whatsoever completely, crushes the CT’s and getting a quick 3K taking the scoreline to 13-11. The next round where FalleN and his men were able to win it, forcing VP to call a timeout which ironically favored the Brazilians as they were able to bring it back from 11-14 to 14-14, all thanks to the massive performance by FalleN where he takes 4 of the Polish side single-handed. NEO, however, keeps the dream alive by cutting a 1v2 clutch and persuading SK to play overtime where VP strikes strongly with 2 rounds only to be denied by Coldzera’s unbelievable ace, making it 2-1.

The second half of OT equalizes the scores and followed by an unfortunate miss-jump from Coldzera, the game goes out 18-17 in favor of the Polish side and a 19-17 strong win over the world’s best Counter Strike: Global Offensive team.

The second map, Nuke, of which the existence was questionable where VP started on the terrorist’s side, with fer buying a dualites and unable to make a difference but an unfortunate turn of events where pasha, unable to hit the shot on the defusing Coldzera loses VP a round with another followed round making it 0-2 and 0-3 in the following round. The guns round was also a disappointment as NEO misses a shot in the upper bombsite on fer which makes fer pickup his AK and gets a couple of more kills, securing the round for his team with a 4-0 score and VP on eco which further extends their lead and makes it 5-0 on the CT-side. VP takes a very early timeout just before their next buy round.

SK FNX

TaZ stepping up with once again with a massive 3 kills which helped VP to get a round on the board, SK came back quickly with their sheer dominance and took back the charge of ticking the scoreboard with a clean round, strengthening the scoreline to 6-1 and the following round making it 7-1. Lost in the pressure, VP wasn’t able to come back any stronger and the scoreline for SK advanced to 8-1 with an additional round coming post-plant retake by Coldzera making it a 9-1 commanding lead. The second win by VP comes too late as they win their second round when the score was already double-digit for the Brazilian side, VP progressed to the next rounds but SK denied their comeback and closed the first half at 12-3.

VP were the one to sprint the scoreboard in their favor at the start of the second half with two quick rounds, the scoreboard was decent to watch with the Polish side claiming 5 rounds in total against 12. But SK not giving VP any chance to gain momentum and winning the next round of the anti-eco and destroying their economy, also making the scoreboard 13-5. The later rounds also didn’t bring feasts for VP as they lose the map 6-16 falling apart heavily on Nuke.

The third and final map started with VP playing on the favorable side of the map and doing exactly the things which regulates the ordinary procuring. SK calling a pause after being down 3-5 and forced the round led them with unfulfilled desires once again as  TAZ opens up and the round goes in favor of VP making it 6-3, SK goes a full buy after getting a full losing bonus being down 6 rounds in a row. Pasha picks up the first kill by taking down FalleN 1v1 at B apartments. NEO gets an almost impossible shot during the final seconds of the round making it another round for VP, a 7-3 strong lead, but TACO keeps the dream alive as he picks an important couple kills to win a round for the Brazilian side.

NEO however in the following round goes to defend the site completely naked on guns. Pasha showing his strength with the MAG7 getting three amicable kills to win the round for his side and getting his side a 8-5 lead. Interestingly, TaZ over commits in the next round to a player lurking in underpass and burns himself in flames which later leads to the round going in favor of SK. Virtus.Pro closes the half in a 9-6 lead. The next half started with the Polish side relying on the utilities with couple of smokes and tec9s and unfortunately pasha kiling byali loses them the round and force them to force-up in the second round.

Things tied up at 9-9 as VP went full eco to be able to buy rifles for the next round. Things went worse in the next buy round inspite of pasha getting the first pick as VP failed to capitalize on the advantage; SK took the lead 10-9, and a regular 11-9 on the following eco. The twenty-first round had its importance and VP let it slip away from them which got behind the league 9-13, forcing them to use their available tactical pause. But FalleN, completely misplays the Polish and takes an important triple kill to win the round for his side and forcing VP to an tensed eco which worsen the scoreline to a 10-14 for the Polish side. NEO took the responsibility in the following round by claiming triple kills and securing their existence in the series and gluing SK at 14. The following two rounds were clinched by SK as Coldzera and FalleN came alive and destroyed the dreams of VP. SK will face the winner of the second semi-final between Fnatic and Flipsid3.

VP to face SK, Liquid takes on fnatic in the semi-finals

Virtus.Pro vs SK Gaming

SK Gaming

The polish side who beat Astralis 2-0 in a best of three quarter-finals yesterday will be facing the defending world champions SK Gaming in the first semi-finals of ESL One Cologne 2016. SK Gaming, who beat Flipsid3 comfortably yesterday will be the favorites of the match.

Fnatic vs Liquid

Liquid Hiko

The never ending debate of who’s the best team in the world after last major’s unfortunate turn out of events for Fnatic’s olofmeister, this is the time to shine for the Swedes side where they will be facing the North American dream Team Liquid. The favorites of this match are undoubtedly Fnatic.

“No roster change in our squad after losing”: Zeus

After unexpectedly losing to Team Liquid 2-1 on getting knocked out of the tournament, Natus Vincere’s captain Daniil ‘Zeus’ Teslenko shared his sentiments on Twitter and assured that there is no roster change coming in even after being defeated in quarter-finals.

Zeus self-motivated himself, his team and the fans of their strength and making it pretty sure that they will not be rushing out to change rosters and blaming an individual for the loss. He instead, went ahead and prioritize the relations build among the players while cruising through and yet again making it to the legends of ESL One Cologne 2016.

TaZ being humble than ever at ESL One Cologne 2016

TaZ, one of the most respectable Counter Strike player is back to his calmness and being down-to-earth. The Virtus.Pro was humble even the last time when he showed respect and asked his fans to calm down when they were booing olofmeister.

TaZ did the same this year at ESL Cologne as he initiates a round of applause for the Danes for being sporty and trying hard even with 2 stand-ins.

Virtus.Pro eliminates Astralis, progresses to semi finals

The first quarter-finals of the ESL One Cologne 2016 was between Virtus.Pro and Astralis. The first map that was decided was Overpass.

The first round started with Astralis starting on the T-side and securing the first pistol round. However, they couldn’ tstop ‘byali’ from taking a triple kill in the second round and secured that round that was followed by ‘snax’ clutching an important 1v2 for his team and giving Virtus.pro 9-1 lead in the map. Later on ‘karrigan’ helped his team to come back in the game and got few important rounds. After getting one more round, Astralis struggle continued and they trailed 3-12 at halftime.

The second half was rather surprising as Astralis won the second half pistol round and then won the first seven rounds to make the score 12-10. ‘device’ tried his best and even got his team to the match point but ‘pashabiceps’s quad kill made Virtus.pro comeback in the game once again and taking the game into overtime. Virtus.pro eventually stopped the comeback and closed the map 19-17.

The second map of the game was Train and things started pretty well for Astralis as they won the first pistol round of the map that was followed by two anti-Eco win. However, Virtus.pro replied back and won the buy round by picking some early picks. Despite all the hard work put by Virtus.pro, Astralis grabbed the first half with the scoreline of 11-4. Yet again Astralis won the pistol round and leaded the map 13-4.

Despite all this Virtus.pro didn’t lose hope and won the gun round with the help of ‘Taz’s triple kill. Later on something happened that was unexpected, Virtus.pro made a huge comeback in the game and somehow managed to take the score to 14-11. Virtus.pro took the match into overtime and dominated the danish team in the first half of the overtime by winning all the three rounds in the first half and then closing the map and eliminating Astralis and becoming the first semi-finalists of the ESL One Cologne 2016.
