Valorant Unveils ‘Why We Fight’ 5th Anniversary Cinematic

In celebration of the fifth anniversary of Valorant, Riot Games has launched a cinematic called “Why We Fight” and debuted Nigerian singer-songwriter Qing Madi’s new single, “EGO.” The cinematic explores Valorant‘s lore with inspiration from the First Light event, which triggered the development of Alpha Earth and set up the universe of the game.

Born Chimamanda Pearl Chukwuma in Benin City, Nigeria, Qing Madi has quickly risen through the ranks of music with her innovative fusion of Afrobeats, pop, soul, and R&B. Her debut single “See Finish” in 2022 drew much attention, which was soon followed by the hit song “Ole” with Bnxn in 2023. Those songs opened the gates for her self-titled EP Qing Madi in November 2023, which revealed her strength and depth as an artist.

In January 2025, she dropped her debut studio album, I Am the Blueprint, a collection of 13 songs that reflected her growth as an individual and artist. Qing Madi defines her music as “Afrosupernatural,” with the goal to establish an intimate and euphoric space for listeners. Aside from her musical skills, she has had training in classical ballet, which she attributes to increasing her stage presence and self-discipline.

Meet Mary Ade: A New Valorant Character

“Why We Fight” also introduces Mary Ade, Phoenix’s sister. Mary is not a playable agent but provides context to the game’s storyline, especially regarding Phoenix’s history. David Nottingham, Valorant Creative Director, has said that Mary’s character and the song “EGO” reflect the bittersweet nature of the game’s 2025 celebration, commemorating the veteran players and dealing with the emotional struggle of agents like Phoenix.

Past collaborations have involved artists such as Zedd, Mark Tuan, and MILLI, with the outputs being special skins, champion themes, and event-based songs. These collaborations seek to elevate the gaming culture by combining interesting stories and various musical acts.

Street Fighter Skins May Return to Fortnite This Month

0

As the Street Fighter series celebrates a major milestone on June 2, 2025, excitement builds up among Fortnite players about the likely return of the legendary Street Fighter skins. These skins, including characters such as Chun-Li and Cammy, have been out of the Item Shop since August 2022, which is almost three years.

The first-ever partnership between Epic Games and Capcom, headed by Chun-Li and Ryu, introduced Street Fighter characters into Fortnite in 2021. The popularity of this union pushed more characters such as Guile, Cammy, Blanka, and Sakura into the game. These skins became instant fan favorites, merging fighting games and battle royale into a groundbreaking crossover.

The extended lack of these skins has ignited wide-ranging debates among the players. Some hope for their return, particularly during major events like the Street Fighter anniversary. Others wonder about possible licensing issues between Capcom and Epic Games that could have held back re-releases.

Reddit comments are littered with users expressing their willingness to buy these skins, with comments registering nostalgia as well as a need for gameplay aesthetics. The popularity of the community speaks volumes about the enduring influence of the Street Fighter crossover in Fortnite.

Although there has been no official word from Epic Games on bringing Street Fighter skins back, the timing of the franchise’s anniversary is the perfect time. The Fortnite fanbase continues to hold out hope, keeping an eye on the Item Shop for any indication that the popular characters are coming back.

0

FromSoftware has once again taken the world of video games by storm with the launch of its newest title, Elden Ring Nightreign. With over 2 million copies sold within a day of its release, the game has seen remarkable success among gamers throughout the world.

However, the launch of Elden Ring Nightreign has been far from flawless. Not only has the game been plagued by performance issues, but one of the most prominent complaints from players is the absence of a two-player co-op mode.

For the uninitiated, Elden Ring Nightreign only supports singleplayer or 3-player co-op for the time being, which renders the game unplayable for duos looking to experience the journey together without adding a third companion.

Fortunately, modders have stepped in to save the day. In only a few hours of the game’s launch, a 2-player co-op mod has surfaced on Nexus that enables players to enjoy Elden Ring Nightreign with their duos.

Elden Ring Nightreign 2-Player Mod Guide

Elden Ring Nightreign Fatal Error & Black Screen Fix

0

With the short span since its release, Elden Ring Nightreign has managed to win the hearts of gamers across the world with its seamless co-op gameplay and adrenaline-pumping boss fights. However, despite being a largely successful game, the newest FromSoftware title isn’t without its flaws.

The launch day of Elden Ring Nightreign has been marred by performance issues, with many players reporting black screens, fatal errors, and startup crashes. While FromSoftware is generally swift to patch out any game-breaking issues, you might want to try a few proven fixes in the meantime to get back into the game and enjoy Nightreign without any interruptions.

In this guide, we’ll walk you through what you need to do to fix the infamous Elden Ring Nightreign fatal error, black screens, and crashes on launch.

Elden Ring Nightreign Fatal Error & Black Screen Fix

In most cases, fatal errors, black screen, and crash-to-desktop (CTD) issues in Elden Ring Nightreign are linked with CPU usage spikes. However, other factors may also contribute to these problems.

Here’s what you can try to do to fix the aforementioned issues in Elden Ring Nightreign:

  • Update the Game: FromSoftware has already deployed a day one patch to Elden Ring Nightreign to fix some core issues that have been haunting the player base. Update the game and see if the crashes persist.
  • Lock Frame Rate: Locking your Elden Ring Nightreign’s frame rate to 30-60 FPS can help reduce load on your CPU and prevent sudden CPU usage spikes, which can help prevent crashes and black screen issues.
  • Core Isolation: Some users have reported that turning off Core Isolation in Windows 11 can help prevent crashes in Elden Ring Nightreign. To turn off Core Isolation in Windows, simply follow these steps:
    • Open the Windows Security app
    • Navigate to Device Security
    • Turn off the Memory Integrity option under Core Isolation Details
    • Restart your PC after applying the changes
  • Lower Your Graphics Settings: If you feel like your rig is having a tough time handling the graphics of Elden Ring Nightreign, you should try lowering your in-game graphics settings to reduce the overall load on your CPU and GPU.

Once you follow these steps correctly, your fatal errors, black screens, and CTD issues should likely be fixed. If the problem persists, your best option may be to wait for an official hotfix from the developers.

Team Spirit Reveals Three Planned Academy Rosters

Team Spirit has shocked the CS2 community after doubling down on its plans with the Academy rosters. Now, it will boast four teams to promote young talents from the CIS region and provide them with everything in an attempt to find the next Donk and Kyosuke.

In what is certainly the most promising CS2 academy in the world, Team Spirit is investing heavily in multiple academy rosters, giving the industry a whole new direction which emphasises developing top talents similar to what we have seen in football.

The rosters are as follows:

Spirit Academy Black

  • Tikhon “tohru” Pyzhenkov – 20 years old
  • Volodymyr “mazay” Iorhachov – 16 years old
  • Kirill “kurosse” Marunchenko – 16 years old
  • David “Netrix” Kudziev – 16 years old
  • Daniil “s1zzi” Vinnyk – 15 years old
  • Yury “kidofpain” Sokal – 15 years old
  • Vladislav “Flash_1” Bykov (coach)

Spirit Academy White

  • Artur “fernando_mag” Kaliuzhnyi – 17 years old
  • Kirill “kiryasoo” Solovkov – 15 years old
  • Kirill “k0gaSs” Emelyanov – 16 years old
  • Nikita “s1nside” Besedin – 15 years old
  • Oleksandr “kyonaji” Rodik – 16 years old
  • Maxim “meterate” Kudryavtsev – 18 years old
  • Tamerlan “k4sl-” Geraev (coach)

Spirit Academy Green

  • Egor “dyhace” Sidorov – 15 years old
  • Danylo “d3nks” Kurta – 15 years old
  • Gleb “maun” Lukashev – 15 years old
  • Daniil “keniqy” Hutsko – 15 years old
  • Kirill “flytex” Skazhutin – 15 years old
  • Artur “iffo” Vasilev – 15 years old
  • Renat “hurtslxrd” Saparov (coach)

Six players, primarily between the ages of 15 and 16, make up each of them. They have little to no prior competitive experience and, depending on the division, average between 3,500 and 3,200 ELO on FACEIT.

Goes without saying that they are quite young and have been dominating FACEIT, which caught the attention of the recruiters, and now they will get the special treatment by learning at the feet of the best coaches and players of the world.

Only time can tell if this approach provides value to Team Spirit as an organisation, but history proves that investing in talent has proved its worth in gold for them.

How to Restore FP in Elden Ring Nightreign?

0

In Elden Ring Nightreign, FromSoftware makes a significant adjustment to resource management by eliminating the familiar FP-replenishing Flask of Cerulean Tears. Though the Flask of Crimson Tears retains its HP-healing function, those who use magic or Weapon Arts will soon realize the lack of a specialized FP flask. This necessitates an adaptation in gameplay, with new mechanisms needed to effectively conserve Focus Points (FP) in the expansive and treacherous Limveld region.

How to Restore FP in Elden Ring Nightreign?

Even with the lost Cerulean Flask, several solid substitutes enable you to restore FP through the entire game.

As with previous Soulsborne titles, Sites of Grace remain essential to progression. Aside from allowing level-ups and fast travel, resting at a Site of Grace fully restores your HP, FP, and flasks. They serve as your main reset points and should be prioritized when you’re running low on resources.

Starlight Shards, Cerulean Crystal Tears, and Cerulean Hidden Tears are consumables that restore FP. These can be discovered throughout Limveld, usually hidden away in treasure containers or secreted in high-magic zones such as Sorcerer’s Rises. Having a stockpile of these items becomes the key, particularly for sorcerers or Ashes of War builds.

How to Restore FP in Elden Ring Nightreign

Throughout your journey in Limveld, you’ll come across trees glowing with a faint blue aura, often encircled by luminous flowers or branches. These natural FP wells act like environmental fountains. Interacting with them restores a portion of your FP instantly, making them extremely valuable during exploration, especially when you’re far from a Site of Grace.

Some weapons in Nightreign have passive skills that assist in restoring FP. These include abilities such as slowly regenerating FP, restoring FP when landing consecutive hits, or even acquiring FP when damaged. Although the presence of these weapons is mostly based on RNG, finding one early in your run can be quite beneficial for magic-centric builds.

Recluse, a new Nightreign spellcasting class, has built-in FP replenishment through its passive and ultimate skills. Her “Magic Cocktail” ability allows her to steal elemental energy from friend and foe alike and turn it into FP. When fully charged, this can be used to execute a catastrophic spell according to the elements stolen. Her final, “Soulblood Song,” brands enemies so that damage against them heals HP and FP for the party as a whole, making her a priceless support and ranged fighter choice.

Managing your FP without the use of the Cerulean Flask is more proactive. Get into the habit of scouting extensively and noting down the positions of glowing blue trees and Sites of Grace. Always have a spare Starlight Shard or two on hand as a backup, and don’t ignore weapons with FP passives on them, even if they aren’t your primary damage source.

Much like the previous FromSoftware titles, Elden Ring Nightreign lets players express themselves in a number of ways using various emotes and gestures in the game.

However, despite featuring a wide range of exciting emotes and gestures for players to use, the game provides little to no guidance on how to use emotes in Nightreign.

If you’re looking for a tutorial on how to use emotes and gestures in Elden Ring Nightreign, we’ve got you covered.

How To Use Emotes in Elden Ring Nightreign

Using emotes and gestures in Elden Ring Nightreign is extremely simple once you learn how to do it, but be warned, using them at the wrong time is an easy way to get yourself killed.

If you want to add certain emotes to your favorites, select the emote and press ‘2’ on the keyboard, Square on PlayStation, or the X button on Xbox.

Can Valorant Mobile Defeat BGMI in India?

The Indian mobile gaming ecosystem faces a pivotal moment with the impending launch of Valorant Mobile. As Riot Games prepares to bring its tactical hero shooter to smartphones, the question looms: Can it disrupt the dominance of Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI), the country’s most-played battle royale? Let’s have a look at the duel between these two gaming titans.

BGMI’s Unshakable Foothold in India

BGMI’s dominance in the Indian market stems from its optimization for low-to-mid-range devices, which becomes a critical factor when you come to a developing country, where 65% of users own devices priced below ₹20,000. The game’s 100 million downloads on Google Play Store alone (as of writing this article) reflect its mass appeal. Its casual-friendly battle royale format resonates with India’s youth.

Apart from casual gaming, even BGMI’s esports infrastructure is unparalleled. The Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BGIS) 2025 featured a massive prize pool of ₹3.2 crore and the ongoing BMPS 2025 features a prize pool of ₹2 crore (which can potentially double to ₹4 crore), respectively. These events, coupled with LAN finals at major cities across India, have professionalized the scene.

Valorant Mobile’s Strategic Entry

Valorant Mobile’s success hinges on adapting its PC-based tactical gameplay for touchscreens. Early beta tests in China suggest streamlined controls and shorter match durations (15–20 minutes vs. BGMI’s 30+ minutes). However, its higher skill ceiling, emphasizing agent abilities, map control, and precision shooting, could alienate casual players accustomed to BGMI’s forgiving mechanics. The potential lack of cross-play with PC further limits accessibility. Furthermore, transitioning BGMI’s battle royale pros to Valorant’s 5v5 plant/defuse format poses challenges.

Valorant Mobile’s esports viability rests on Riot’s legacy with titles like League of Legends and Valorant PC. Furthermore, according to the leaks and playtests in China, VALORANT Mobile will be offering more features than its PC counterpart at the time of launch, including the must awaited replay system.

On the plus side, many BGMI content creators, gaming content creators, and other esports pros have stated that they are willing to try and even go pro in Valorant Mobile. Renowned former BGMI esports pro Raj “Snax” Varma recently stated that he will be making his esports comeback with Valorant Mobile.

While Valorant Mobile is unlikely to “defeat” BGMI in India, it will carve a niche among tactical FPS enthusiasts. Casual gamers may split time between both titles, similar to the PC coexistence of PUBG and CS:GO. In esports, Valorant Mobile could emerge as a parallel vertical, leveraging Riot’s $10 million Mobile Champions Tour (rumored for 2026).
