The Squad XP Boost event is a recurring Valorant event that we’ve previously seen on multiple occasions throughout the game’s history. The event enables players to accumulate XP at a rapid pace by playing alongside their friends.

Valorant Squad XP Boost Event Explained

Throughout the 5-Year Event Pass, Valorant players will be able to earn loads of additional XP with the Squad XP Boost. But how does it work?

During the event period, you can party up with your friends and queue for any game mode to receive additional XP for your Battle Pass (or event pass). The amount of bonus XP depends on the number of friends that you play with.

Here’s a breakdown of the XP Boost percentages available during the event:

  • 2 Players: +8% XP Boost
  • 3 Players: +12% XP Boost

Valve has released the June 2025 update for its Valve Regional Standings (VRS). It is a critical measure of team invitations for IEM Cologne and the Esports World Cup. Not only does this update capture today’s competitive climate, but it also positions these high-pressure events.

Planned from July 23 to August 3, IEM Cologne 2025 is a pillar in the CS2 competitive schedule. Carrying a large prize money of $1,250,000, the event will be attended by 24 teams, mainly decided by the recent VRS rankings. The event’s format features several stages, ultimately leading up to a grand final that guarantees fierce matches between the world’s top teams.

After IEM Cologne, the Esports World Cup will be held between August 20 and 24 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This event will feature 16 elite teams, 15 of which will qualify based on the June VRS update, and one more team qualifying from the HERO Esports Asian Champions League. The tournament has a prize pool of $1,250,000, with the winning team receiving $500,000.

Valorant will transition to Unreal Engine 5 in July 2025, Riot Games announced in a recent statement.

This move is expected to deliver a significant visual upgrade for the competitive shooter, which has earned widespread recognition among esports fans for its gunplay mechanics and Agent abilities.

For the uninitiated, Valorant has been running on Unreal Engine 4 since its initial launch in June 2020. Not only is it optimized to run on modest hardware, but it also consistently delivers 60+ FPS even on low-end PCs.

According to the dev team, the Valorant Unreal Engine 5 upgrade isn’t expected to change the overall feel of the game or core gameplay mechanics, but it will bring performance enhancements and enable faster patch downloads moving forward.

Alongside announcing the engine upgrade, Riot Games also confirmed a bunch of other exciting additions coming to Valorant in the near future. These changes include a new map, improved smurf detection, 2FA, and the long-anticipated replay system.

Kings League has just announced its collaboration with Epic Games for the 2025 World Cup, arguably one of the year’s biggest sporting events. While the Kings League boasts one of the biggest audiences in Europe, having a traditional sports league collaborate with one of the biggest games will give us one of the best events from Epic Games.

Set to take place between June 1 and June 14, Kings League’s 7-a-side football promotes street-style style fast-paced football. What started as a creative concept to revive a niche aspect of football has turned into a global phenomenon, and now they are hosting events at the biggest stadiums.
