IEM Katowice 2023 Playoffs Preview

0

IEM Katowice has finally reached the Quarter-Finals stage where teams will have to travel to the Spodek Arena for their continued involvement in this competition. With some heavy hitters out of the way early on, we have a mixed bag of big names and dark horses who will take it out on each other.

Quarter-Finals:

On opening day at Spodek Arena, two giants from CIS, namely NAVI and Outsiders battle it out for a spot in the Semi-finals. Outsiders have failed to replicate their form from Major which led to Twitter calling their Rio triumph a fluke and NAVI, on the other hand, is going through a tough time with a fresh face on the team. Both teams are far from their Apex which calls for a very dicey match but with the amount of raw latent on the server, the match with be anything but boring. The winner progresses to meet HEROIC in the semi-finals on Saturday.

Liquid vs Vitality on match is what promises to be one of the best matches of this tournament so far. Vitality having displayed great form with ZyWoo firing on all cylinders take on Liquid who are on a climb in form ever since the addition of YEKINDAR. Liquid took down FaZe in incredible fashion while Vitality was able to brush off anything thrown at them with the exception of Heroic in the Upper Bracket match. The winner of this fixture will face G2 Esports who by far are the favourites to go all the way.

IEM Katowice has delivered so far and the upcoming stages will have the essence of a grand arena. Spodek in the past has produced some of the most memorable moments in CSGO history which makes it one of the most prestigious trophies even for the most accomplished.

The teams that have made it all the way here are no pushovers which are why every match will be equally thrilling and the Polish crowd adding to the hype of the tournament in every round of every match.

League of Legends Patch 13.3 Delayed By A Day

Riot Games, the company behind the popular game League of Legends (LoL), has been affected by a social engineering attack that has stolen the source codes for League of Legends, Teamfight Tactics, and the company’s anti-cheat system. The attack has caused delays in the release of patches for the game, but the company is working hard to get back on track. Unfortunately, LoL Patch 13.3 will be released a day later than originally planned.

In the patch notes for LoL Patch 13.3, Riot Games stated that the patch will go live in the morning of Thursday, 9th February for all Riot regions, and the morning of Friday, 10th February for Southeast Asia. As a result of the delay, most regions will experience downtime before the roll-out of the patch.

The Ahri Art & Sustainability Update (ASU), Aurelion Sol’s Comprehensive Gameplay Update (CGU), and the buffs to melee and tank supports in League of Legends will finally be introduced in LoL Patch 13.3. Just in time for Valentine’s Day, players will also be treated to three new Valentine-themed skins: Heartache Amumu, Heartache Vi, and Heartthrob Caitlyn.

Buffs in this patch include Alistar, Braum, Jarvan IV, Kayle, Kayn, LeBlanc, Nautilus, Pyke, Rakan, Thresh, and Trundle. Meanwhile, nerfs are aimed at Annie, Amumu, Kassadin, K’Sante, Zac, Umbral Glaive (item), Radiant Virtue (item).

Riot Games’ main goal for the jungle adjustments in LoL Patch 13.3 is to reduce early game volatility by reducing early ganking and diving power and shifting some power from gold income to experience earned for junglers.

To achieve this, the company is balancing the scale of gold per treat (from 30 to 20) and increasing experience per jungle camp with a companion by 5 experience per camp. Additionally, extra vision in the early game will be provided by reducing the stealth ward trinket cooldown and increasing early tower damage to bring down early ganking and diving power. Jungle companions will no longer deal lethal damage to epic monsters to make smite fights and fog of war steals straightforward.

Starting from this patch, in Blind Pick and Normal Draft, normal surrender will be available at 15 minutes instead of 20 minutes, and the unanimous early surrender requirement has been removed. Riot Games says it will be closely monitoring player feedback and the impacts of this change.

You can read the full patch notes for LoL Patch 13.3 on the official Riot Games website.

In conclusion, League of Legends fans will have to wait a little longer to experience the latest updates in the game, but the wait will be well worth it. The introduction of new skins, buffs and nerfs, and jungle adjustments will bring a fresh new experience to the game.

It is reported that Luie has been awaiting help for over 36 hours. The situation highlights the severity of the earthquake and the urgency for help and support from the authorities.

Team Clix Dominates Tfue Tuesday Fortnite Tournament, Claims $25K Grand Prize

0

BoomTV and Twitch streamer Turner “Tfue” Tenney held the first-ever Tfue Tuesday Fortnite tournament, with $100,000 up for grabs and 20 squads competing. The tournament included notable players and streamers such as Tyler “Ninja” Blevins, Cody “Clix” Conrod, Ali “SypherPK” Hassan, and more.

The tournament consisted of ten matches with elimination and placement points being tallied to determine the winner.

Team Clix, composed of Fortnite pros Clix, Kwanti, Rise, and Eomzo, emerged victorious, finishing the competition with 446 points – just six more than Team Tfue. The Tfue Tuesday leaderboard saw significant shifts throughout the tournament, with six teams surpassing the 400-point threshold. Despite the restrictive ruleset, Team Clix managed two Victory Royales out of the ten matches, outpacing all other competitors.

Team Tfue, consisting of Tfue, Okis, Easiness, and Pilky, matched Team Clix with two Victory Royales but fell short in the final match. Despite two zero-point efforts in games two and three, the team rallied back, with Okis saving their tournament life in game nine with a clutch performance of three rapid eliminations.

Other noteworthy teams in the Tfue Tuesday Fortnite tournament included NickEh30, Nate Hill, BonsaiBroz, and MrSavage. Each game-winning team earned $1,000.

The complete leaderboard is as follows:

Further Digitalization of Sports & Other Predictions in 2023

0

Last year we witnessed a lot of important events, and the expected World Cup in Qatar became the final chord. Viewers witnessed a really worthy confrontation, and even people far from the football world literally cried when Messi scored his winning goal. Well, he deserved it. And the world is moving on, and this year we expect no fewer sporting events and global changes that will influence multiple industries.

New Marketing Opportunities for a More Immersive Experience

The first trend that caught our attention is the even greater globalization of sports. International leagues are trying to further strengthen their positions through additional investments and mergers. Sports clubs and groups are collaborating for more effective marketing strategies and exciting events, and fans are looking forward to the most exciting competitions featuring the best athletes on the planet.

Experts also predict significant changes in advertisements and the presence of sports in multiple spheres. It’s no secret that match day is the best for fans, while on other days, they do not devote much time to their favorite sport and team. Sports marketers will focus on offering users more content that will interest them: advertising integrations with athletes, featured games, and exciting video streams. Now users can become not just spectators but also full-fledged participants in the process thanks to all available interactive tools.

Online Sports Betting: Opportunities and Prospects

The industry is constantly growing since viewers are no more excited with simple match-watching. Placing a bet in the chosen online casino Canada and waiting for the outcome with a pinch of adrenaline attracts multiple sports fans, and the number of sportsbooks constantly grows. It’s worth noting that more and more governments accept betting and gambling as legal entertainment, so a lot of users can take advantage of this opportunity while following the anticipated events.

We also suppose that the demand for live betting will increase significantly in 2023 as this option allows users to monitor the changes in odds during the match and choose the most beneficial alternative for placing an immediate bet. Moreover, in such an instance, players don’t have to wait for long since the result of the event is announced during the following few hours.

More Blockchain Presence in Sportsbooks

NFT betting has become a promising trend in 2022, and it seems that risk fans are excited about it. Such entertainment is only gaining popularity among gambling lovers, but many experts are confident that blockchain is the technology of the future. Even though the world experienced a significant decline in the price of cryptocurrencies last spring, both crypto and NFTs are still of interest to users. So if you still don’t know anything about this innovation, it’s time to delve into it and at least learn some basics.

Further Digitalization of the Industry Will Catch Us in 2023

It’s impossible to deny that our world has been becoming more and more digitalized since the pandemic times, and this trend is not going to disappear. This trend has a significant impact on all sectors, and, of course, sports is no exception. Sponsors are likely to invest even more sums into web content since it’s what users really want to see.

It’s predicted that numerous new platforms for sports fans will appear, so a lot of interactive content awaits us in 2023. More companies now implement generative AI to create unique experiences for sports fans. Of course, it cannot compete with attending a live match, but it’s still a way to get completely new emotions and experiences.

Blockchain & Metaverses Will Gain More Attention from Both Athletes and Viewers

Metaverses also have great potential: sports fans suppose that huge matches are yet to be conducted in virtual realities. Considering that users already have the possibility of attending concerts and other events in metaverses, we can wait for some virtual football or basketball. Sports Metaverse is a place where all the latest details about famous stars, clubs, and sports companies are gathered.

The brand offers an amazing interactive experience, including the possibility of playing some exciting mini-games and having tons of fun. We are convinced that this sector will evolve and get more loyal fans this year!

Valorant Patch 6.02: All Changes Explained With Update Notes

0

The eagerly awaited update to the massively popular first-person shooter, VALORANT, has finally arrived, with Patch 6.02 poised to rectify the mounting frustrations of players.

This latest installment addresses several vital bugs affecting both maps and agents, while also tackling the vexing issue of high ping players and launching a limited beta of the Riot Voice Evaluation program.

Minimizing the Frustration of High Ping Players

At the forefront of Patch 6.02’s improvements is the modification of the gameplay systems, specifically the reduction of the maximum server rewind limit from a bewildering 200 ms to a more manageable 140 ms. The server rewind mechanism is responsible for rewinding a character’s position to account for the time it takes for a player’s input to reach the server. By lessening this limit, players should experience a diminution in instances where they are “killed” after finding refuge.

While players with low ping may not detect much of a difference, those with high ping will be relieved to endure fewer instances of being struck by bullets fired before they had managed to retreat to safety. Regrettably, this same reduction may result in high-ping players experiencing “hit registration inaccuracies.”

The Launch of a Limited Beta for Riot Voice Evaluation

The Riot Voice Evaluation (RVE) program, originally launched in North America, has been in training mode, using language models in the background. With the latest update, the RVE transitions into a limited beta phase, featuring enhanced capabilities for collecting behavioral reports data. Players can anticipate a noticeable improvement in the interventions aimed at improving comms-related behaviors.

Fixes for Agent Bugs

The new patch addresses several bugs afflicting agents and their abilities. For instance, the bug preventing KAY/O’s Zero/Point (E) from accurately displaying the enemies it has suppressed may have been fixed. Raze’s pathfinding has also been enhanced, and the bug causing Yoru’s Fakeout (C) to become stuck in mid-air has been rectified. Cypher’s Neural Theft (X) will no longer be disrupted if he is killed after deploying it.

Resolutions for Map Bugs

An array of bugs impacting maps have also been resolved. For instance, players will no longer create footstep audio when dropping from the B site platform to the fountain in Lotus. The volume of the rotating door has been reduced, and the issue of players spawning on the incorrect side of the barrier near C site has been corrected. In Fracture, the “Paul Delmann” badge will no longer be stubbornly displayed on the screen after the Buy Phase ends.

Miscellaneous Changes

Patch 6.02 also includes fixes for various other issues, such as correcting the problem where Frenzy and Bulldog reload audio is quieter than that of other weapons in third person.

Additionally, the bug causing voice chat to cease functioning when disconnected from the internet for less than 60 seconds has been resolved, enabling players to reconnect to voice chat without having to restart the game.

In conclusion, VALORANT Patch 6.02 represents a substantial step forward in enhancing the player experience by rectifying frustrations and fixing critical bugs. Whether you are a seasoned veteran or a newcomer to the game, this latest patch promises to elevate your overall gaming experience.
